I don’t see how you can call them anything other than perfect results for us. Keeps that bottom four well adrift and the only team you’d call our rivals realistically is West Ham, who lost.

Changed the game when he came on for Villa in 2005.

Eh? 24 year olds don’t get taller, quicker or stronger but technique and finishing are two things they can improve upon.

What an odd way of describing a partnership which has scored 17 goals in 15 League games since the Covid restart.

Honest question - has any black former player actually come out and said, "I really want to get into management but I’m scared/intimidated/dissuaded because I’m black." I see a lot of people, black and white, saying this but it’s always about other people. I lived in Lincoln for a while when Keith Alexander was Imps manager. Maybe he just wasn’t high profile enough but if there was a glass ceiling then surely people like him have already broken it. That was 20 years or so ago now and we’ve had hundreds of retired black players since then. -
Pointless whataboutery from a fairly tiresome satire outlet. I think Starmer has played a blinder and yet the hard left supporters seem to be furious that their party is once again electable.

Yep, it's quite difficult to read. To give him the benefit of the doubt, I think he meant it in the third person, although it still comes across as a bit of a haphazard rant. -

Crikey, that’s quite the statement 😮 -
I think KK is just an avatar for everything we hate about celebrity culture. It’s hard to understand just how warped her perspective of the world is but this is a woman who can get paid tens of millions for one Instagram post endorsing some cosmetic product. One of her sisters (Kendal, Kylie I forget and don’t care which) is apparently a 23 year old billionaire, simply because she lends her face to various beauty products on Instagram... billionaire... it’s hard to imagine but looking at her Instagram, she is followed by the equivalent population of Russia and Spain combined. If her followers were a country, it’d be the 8th largest in the world. Not to defend her behaviour but it’s no more eccentric than Trump or any other Sheikh, Oligarch or cartel head. It’s just more publicised.

That’s a very tall Egyptian.

I like when people come up with numbers, trends and statistics to cleverly explain how they’re going to donate £10 to a bookmaker. 😃

I worry that, however well intentioned this may be, it may simply be reinforcing a negative. If you continuously tell people they are the victim of discrimination, it will stick and they will believe it, whether it happens to be true in that case or not. The fact is that most black people will fail in many of their endeavours; the reason being that this is true of everyone. The danger comes when you start implying that this is NOT the case for white people and quotas and diversity schemes only reinforce this. If you employ black people through such a scheme it creates the completely false paradigm of what life must be like for most white people. -
Who's to say they wouldn't want that, if they took Israel with them? I'm not saying Trump is a force for peace in the region but if the Iranians were just paying the treaty lip service, whilst continuing to develop missiles and enriched uranium for 'peaceful purposes' then it's all a bit Neville Chamberlain. I know it's understandable that they'd want a nuke but under no circumstances should they be allowed to have one.

I think a lot of what gets perceived as racism is just people not liking being patronised. People want to just watch sport and other forms of entertainment without the need to be continuously spoon fed political correctness. -

Unless I’ve missed a bit of that terrible, ad-infested article, I can’t find a quote where he says anything along the lines of the BIB. Seems like the Mail really want to make a mountain of this molehill. Who’d have thought. -
If I was going to give him credit for anything, it'd be tearing up the Iran nuclear deal. I don't think such a fanatical, totalitarian regime which does nothing but destabilise the region should be legitimised in any way and despite their protestations, I doubt the Iranians were paying it anything other than lip service.

The best way to hire people, in any industry really, would be to have some online portal where you upload a CV and cover letter and software then blocks the name, gender and email address from the recruitment team. That way it’s physically impossible to discriminate against any prospective candidates as you would have no idea as to the gender or ethnic background of the CV you’re reading. The best CV and cover letters are selected and interview invites are sent out based on that. Obviously everything becomes apparent at the interview stage but if all 10 candidates are white men, that’s life. -

As a slight tangent I’ve known and worked with a number of people who have been involved in recruitment for various companies. You’d be surprised at the number of otherwise high calibre candidates who talk themselves out of even getting interviewed with a badly written CV or cover letter. As in, basic grammar and proof reading that people should have learned at school. ’I wood love to work for your company’ - Straight in the bin Email address: bigboy69@hotmail.com - Bin ‘Thompson Airlines is a great company‘ - Bin (it’s Thomson) Printed on scented/coloured paper - Bin Little hearts used to dot the ‘i’s because you’re kinda creative and want to stand out - Bin Obviously anyone can make these mistakes but if you don’t spot them and keep getting rejected, it can be massively frustrating. It’s not a big leap of the imagination to go from that to assuming you must be the victim of some form of discrimination. -
We aren’t going to have Bertrand, Rose and Vokins on the books. Given that the bar for reserve fullbacks has been set by the likes of Fox, Pied, Martina, Targett and Valery in recent years, I can’t see us bringing in anyone above JV.
-
Why, having finished 11th and not lost anyone significant, you’d have thought we were in for a relegation fight in summer, I can’t understand. This is probably an 8th-15th 6 pointer, if there is such a thing.

Let's hope Sunderland stay in League 1 for a while.

For £15m he's produced far better than our rivals have managed to extract from the likes of Haller, Wesley and Tosun.

Basically how I saw it. Given how we performed as a team, I don't see any need to drop him. Theo I'd be more inclined to try through the middle for Ings/Adams late on.
