No it’s not. I’ve known a few work colleagues had personal issues, be they family related, mental or physical health, financial or even just complex personal circumstances, who’ve required time off work. I’m sure there are 5 times as many I never knew about because they didn’t want it going beyond their immediate supervisor and close friends, let alone a ‘holding statement’ in the national press.
He’s an employee, we’re customers. As long as we’re being provided with the product we’ve been paying for, I.e. a game of professional football, things like this are none of our business. Telling everyone won’t bring him in any quicker so it serves no purpose other than to satisfy people’s nosiness.
