  1. What are you rabbit ting on about, It was YOU. You started this thread because your relegation thread now looks foolish one game after it was posted.
  2. Aside from the usual, ‘could of’, their/there etc. I’m seeing a lot of; "It’s too higher price to pay." "I could care less about..."
  3. https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/welcome-to-the-new-season-everton-i-hate-you.107892/ Just a casual look on a couple of similar teams (this season anyway) forum. Unlike us, they're all unanimous in their optimism. They fully support the board, the players, the manager and there is absolutely no infighting or bitterness among keyboard warriors. We could really learn something from this thread.
  4. Couldn’t give a flying f**k about Norwich at Watford. If we forfeit our last 11 games we will finish above those two. If we can find some consistency 8th and possible European football is a semi-realistic goal.
  5. Not really going our way this afternoon. Hoping for a draw between Arsenal and Everton.
  6. Yeah I know. I've seen this one fan who continuously slags off Forster and Gunn and being hopeless and never shuts up about them being League 1 'keepers at best. Where do we find these people... We were right behind our team when we lost 4-1 in the Cup in 2010. Our home support is no worse than any other team in this league. People leave early at every club, regardless of the score. People have early trains to catch, 2 hour drives, early starts on Sunday, kids who need taking to birthday parties, etc. Like it or not people do have other priorities higher than watching the last 5 minutes of a football game. I wasn't at the games Pelle was supposedly getting stick in. I'm willing to bet it was a very small, vocal minority and in any case, he seems to still hold us in pretty high regard.
  7. Just out of interest, which fans in this league WOULD be pleased by losing at home to Bournemouth, West Ham, Everton, Burnley, Chelsea, Liverpool, Wolves AND being on the wrong end of a 9-0 in the space of 6 months?
  8. You really believe a 33 year old can play every game of a League and Europa season? Also, Les pushing him out but not from League games because VVD only wanted to be captain for European games? Well, each to their own I suppose.
  9. If only we could be more like his beloved Arsenal. When the going gets tough, they pack the Emirates to the rafters and sing themselves hoarse for their team.
  10. There was nothing strange about that. Fonte was 33 and never going to be able to play every League game and 6 midweek European games. It was poor though. Sparta at home was decent but after that we only managed two set piece goals from VVD in the other 5 games.
  11. Wolves were pretty bad in 2003/04 when we beat them home and away. However yesterday’s Villa performance doesn’t come close to the 4-2 at Villa Park when they were last up (the game when the few fans who actually turned up were chucking paper planes at their players) I think if we had someone who could finish better than Long we’d have won that about 7-2.
  12. We’re difficult to please according to Keown. Yeah, I’m sure arsenal fans would cheering the house down if they were the worst home team in the league, with 3 wins, 8 defeats and a 0-9 in there.
  13. Thought the first decision was wrong but the second one correct. The defender even stuck his arm up behind him to deliberately control the ball. It was more arm than shoulder IMO and a deliberate attempt to block it with his arm.
  14. Good grief, I can’t stand when female commentators try to sound like blokes. The woman commentating on Bur/Bou is insufferable.
  15. Our results against the four teams just above us look a bit painful now. Losing both games against Burnley (which will inevitably be replicated when we go to Goodison) throwing away 2-0 against Wolves and the win at Arsenal on 90+5 mins. A couple of reasonable results from those games and we’d be fighting Spurs, Man U and the Blades for a Champions League place.
  16. Dragged back in?! If we lose ALL our remaining games, with a GD of -20, that would have kept us up last season. Put your feet up and enjoy the football. We’ll be in the mid 40s on the last day of the season whilst the teams in the actual battle are fighting over 35-37 points.
  17. 11 games left, I’m sure the bottom 5 are ALL going to get 4 wins more than us. I guess when they do, it’s between us and Arsenal for the drop.
  18. 6 points off a champions league place, 10 above the drop zone and still people talk about it being a ‘critical win’ and being nearly safe. We are not going down, even if we’d lost today we still wouldn’t go down. As for the match, very good performance all around and should have won by a much bigger margin. Good performance by Smallbone and Hoj in the middle and JWP filled in well at RB. Villa we’re properly awful though and rarely troubled us.
  19. Goodnight.
  20. Not a red IMO, looked deliberate in slow motion but it wasn’t.
  21. How does that work? Jordon Ibe sat on the bench for Liverpool, so did Solanke. You could put me on the bench for that 1970 Brazil team, wouldn't mean I'm good enough to play for anyone. The players you've listed played in a different era, sports fitness has moved on so much since their day. Channon and friends played in an era when you could go out on the lash the night before a game, then grab a large fish and chips on the way to the ground to soak it all up. It's not like that now, we've got VO2 max tests and midfielders running 11km in a game. I think Lallana would be off the pace again and likely just get injured trying to keep with the pace.
  22. Wow, you’ve lead a sheltered life and have obviously never been to Russia, Ukraine, any of the Balkans, Italy, pretty much all of the Middle East, the USA, France, Japan/China, South Africa... I’m not even going into the rest of the continent and all the genocides they’ve had. If you want a Utopia, I’m afraid you’re the wrong species living on the wrong planet. If it’s a choice between occasionally having some kn*bber in a crowd shout, "oi puff!" Or living a lonely, self-loathing lie for your whole career, I know which I’d pick.
  23. What are reported incidents though? Are these convictions, are they all at games, does it include social media, which leagues does it include? If I went to a Sunday League game and shouted, “f**k off, you useless *****, you’re sh*t!” At a black player and someone just assumes I have a problem with race and reports it, does that contribute to the statistic? To put that number into context, Brighton had a turn out of just under 60,000 at the last election, slightly under an average home gate at Arsenal. 177 people voted for UKIP, who are all racist xenophobes according to many. So statistically Brighton has a much worse problem with right wing racism/xenophobia? I know it’s a facetious argument but talking about the 0.01%’ers as representing an institutional problem doesn’t hold up either.
  24. So you have no evidence that football is worse than anywhere else? It’s just an old cliché, so we’re going to stick with it. As for the rest of Europe, you think the average Serbian or Ukrainian is open minded and tolerant, it’s just the football fans which are the trouble makers?
  25. I must have missed 750,000 people attending Crufts every week for 3/4 of the year. Not that I can be arsed to debate it again but the percentage of people committing racist offences at English football is miniscule.
