Surprised, I'd just assumed Lewis would be called upon if the first two got injured. Oh well, welcome etc.

I enjoyed watching Brazzer's videos. I may look on google to see if there are any more.

Don't want him back. If a player wants to bugger off and chase the bright lights and big money at another club, so be it but don't come back here crying when it doesn't work out. A player his age needs regular game time to be decent but he decided to jack that in and go and sit on Arsenal's bench. If anything he has gone backwards, we can do better.

Man Utd v Saints Post Match Hmmmmm.....
Lighthouse replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
It was great being in the Championship and not selling our best players all the time. Oh, apart from Crouch... And Phillips... And Walcott... And Niemi... And Jones... And Bale.... And Pele... And Surman... And Rasiak... And Baird -
Not sure but he must have good feet (for a big man).

Ramirez was deadline day too. Osvaldo not quiet but was definitely quite late on.

At What Point Do You Say - Ok Now You Have To Pay For The Service

The thread title lead me to believe it would be about prostitutes. I feel mislead. -
Hojbjerg is Wanyamas replacement. Sooner or later we're all going to have to accept that. If you're losing sleep just remember Utd won a treble with 5'6 Keane and Scholes in central midfield.
-
First series was definitely late 90s, second definitely early 00s. Should be in there.
-
There definitely isn't any middle ground between that and some bloke who wasn't wanted by a mid table Bundesliga side. Garrett, how can you label Cédric, Martina and Clasie as failures and call that useless git Djuricic 'indifferent'. He contributed absolutely nothing except for a half-hearted penalty appeal against Liverpool when he had no confidence in himself to shoot.
-
I think if anything annoyed me about our transfers it was Elia and Djuricic. We had a genuine chance of Champions League qualification in Koeman's first season and instead of bringing in some quality creativity we loaned in a couple of crap 'bargains' who contributed naff all. Reminded me of that time under WGS when we finished 8th and got to the cup final, then sold our best player and brought in Neil McCan't.

It's basically just saying we didn't beat Everton for 3 seasons and got a draw at Old Trafford. A bit of a bogey for us but nothing that special really.
-
I was watching Cats does Countdown at the weekend. Normally it's a pretty good show but the 'comedian' they had in dictionary corner this week was dreadful. Some guy with goofy fake teeth and a wig, who's routine was basically just shouting utter nonsense in a silly high pitched voiced. Bill Hicks would be turning in his grave. There are some other wastes of airtime on there too, like Rosin Conaughty.

No way we're getting a net income of 3 attackers. We might get 2 in if J Rod leaves.
-
Mate took this at Southampton Airport this evening, reckons it's Boufal. I'm not convinced.
-
Typical; as in the same as other signings late in the window - Virgil, Mané, Toby, Osvaldo and Ramirez
-
Why on Earth would we sell either this late in the window, if we didn't have a replacement lined up? Pay rise - maybe Extra year - no
-
I wish we had Morgan and Victor but we don't. We have replaced them with Rom and Hoj who as individual players may not be quiet as good but could be in the future with the right management. On the up side, we have a settled back five, whereas Koeman had to replace Lovren, Shaw, Chambers and we had a new keeper too. We need to replace Mané but if we do we will have Austin, JRod and Redmond/Long on the bench. That's fairly decent attacking depth, when you consider 4 years ago we started the season with Dan Seaborne, Guly and Steve De Ridder in the squad. That's the time to worry.
-
At the moment our 25 man squad is probably something like Forster McCarthy Lewis Pied Martina Cédric Fonte Virgil Yoshi Gardos Bertrand Targett Davis JWP Clasie Romeu Hojbjerg Reed Austin J Rod Long Redmond Tadic It leaves room for 2 more. There could be 2 signings or one of the spaces could be Isgrove or Stephens.
-
How is it ridiculously optimistic? Why can't people see that Hoj is our replacement for Wanyama? Just because he can pass better and his second touch isn't a tackle half the time. Perhaps if he was black and got sent off for 2 stupid yellows at Old Trafford some people would be more convinced, I don't know but he is what we've got and I for one am pretty happy with that particular swap. Austin scored something like 18 goals for QPR at this level, more than Pelle ever managed, so it's reasonable to assume we might get something decent from him. Puel and his tactics don't have me convinced either but our playing squad isn't that far off. We do need to replace Mané and I would hope for someone a fair bit better than Redmond. Apart from that I'd say the squad looks alright.
-
Stek was only ever a loan to cover Forster's injury. Ramirez played about 3 games for us last year, you can't count him as a player lost. Likewise, Juanmi contributed sweet FA. In McCarthy and Redmon we have basically replaced 4 of the players you've listed. Hoj replaces Wanyama. Austin replaces Pelle Basically were left needing a replacement for Mané with Pied as extra cover.

Benteke to Crystal Palace, this is becoming very frustrating....
Lighthouse replied to beowulf's topic in The Saints
You mean apart from signing Pied, McCarthy, Hojbjerg and Redmond weeks before the season began? -
In other words if all tabloid rumours about any of our players leaving come true but we don't sign anyone else. So far our net loss is one player on last years squad and I fully expect us to sign someone else before the window closes.
