I can't imagine there are too many people out there who would buy a Saints shirt solely because it's got 'Schweinsteiger' on the back. Nowhere near enough to touch his wages.
-
So they won't play all season?
-
I don't think a frequently injured 32 year old on high wages is really the market we're in.
-
There's no way we are going to let first team players turn up unfit for the start of the season.

I'm claiming responsibility for the original petting zoo idea, which was never as big admittedly. It was on a thread about stadium improvements we'd like to see and somehow evolved into the monkey chicken petting zoo. I wonder if anyone has given Kat the blueprints yet.

He must have a bus pass by now.

Horses can't describe a Jewish frog, unfortunately.

The difference being we could have up to 5 midfielders midfielders on the pitch at any given time, depending on the formation we're playing. There will always be a chance for any of them to play any given game. How many times does the number 2 LB get called upon. When would we ever send on an inferior LB late in the game, just for the sake of it? Only if Bertrand was injured or fatigued.

You won't find defenders better than Targett, Yoshida and Gardos willing to sit on the bench at Southampton. We probably won't find much better than Martina either.
-
Didn't Celtic once turn over a 5-0 first leg defeat against some East European team?

Every troll's wet dream

The 6 months between the 3-1 win at Chelsea and the 3-2 win against Liverpool. 1 league goal.

I don't think anyone is content with what we have right now but most are confident in the assumption that at least one more attacker and probably a keeper will be in before the end of the window. I'd also be massively underwhelmed if Redmond was replacing Mané but if he was infact replacing Juanmi/Gaston suddenly he looks pretty decent.

Sodding typical, I live in Crawley and it's the only home game.

I didn't vote in the referendum but I know a lot of well educated, informed and genuinely nice people who voted leave because they thought it was best for the country. Gets my goat when I see them passed off as simply being ignorant xenophobes and lumped in the same bracket as Batman. I think Ross Kemp had it pretty much spot on in his documentary the other week. We need the air strikes and we need to support the Kurds in rebuilding their infrastructure. Personally I'd be in favour of a Kurdish state now that we don't have to suck up to Turkey anymore. -
You need to get in touch with Les and subscribe to his transfer email updates. Whenever someone enquires about a player, the first thing he does is email me about about it. I suggest you sign up asap, then you get more warning about our potential outgoings.

I've just sent an email to some of the technicians at Chernobyl to find what comes after a meltdown. Apparently those downwind of the accident site can expect nausea, vomiting, breathing difficulty and skin conditions in the days following the initial discharge. Over a more prolonged period of time there is an increased risk of long term health effects, including Lukemia and several other forms of cancer. Newborns delivered in the contamination zone can also expect an increase in the number if birth defects and thyroid cancer. In the immediate future it is advisable to evacuate the contamination area, to a radius of approximately 30km. The site of the meltdown should then be covered in sand and boron to absorb as much latent radioactive discharge as possible. In the long term a concrete sarcoughagus should be constructed over the sight and line with lead and steel. It would be advisable not to use the same guy who did the first Ted Bates statue for this.

Realised the other day that 9/11 was infact closer to my own birth than it is to today. I.e. It was more than half my life ago but feels like yesterday. I keep seeing movies from 2007/8 thinking 'oh that came out a couple of years ago', then it hits me; 9 f*cking years. It's also more than 7 years since we could sing 'swing lowe', unless like me you were on a certain train to Charlton.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

Really? You honestly can't tell the difference between collateral damage on civilians from air strikes aimed specifically at helping them and some nutter strapping dynamite to himself and running into a crowded music venue. Ask any innocent Syrian if they want the air strikes to stop, even after the civilian casualties. I'll bet you 99% say no, they are essential in fighting the IS nutters who would come in and murder them all deliberately anyway. -
Was flicking through the BBC football stories and it turns out the original HCDAJFU, Rudi Skacel has turned up in Scotland again (Roath Ravers this time). A quick look at Wikipedia, turns out it's exactly 10 years (or it will be in 3 days) since he signed on the pitch during a preseason friendly, ending possibly the longest transfer thread in the history of Saintsweb. At the time I thought it was the final piece in our promotion jigsaw. I think if someone had told me then what the next 10 years was actually going to bring, I have said, "hahaha, no seriously though..."

Who would you say has been better run in recent seasons?
-
Actually he... f**k it, we're not going through this again.
-
This, basically. The reason we spent so much more money that anyone else was because we were a mid table Premier League club, in League 1 with a League 2 standard squad. We just shouldn't have been there.

Davide Astori to replace Gardos? What's Bierhoff up to these days?
-
Fonte will play unless he's injured, can't see Stephens suddenly jumping in the starting XI from nowhere. Apart from that the OP seems about right. Possibly Austin in place of Long, depending on what strategy Puel goes with.
