Those were the days Big Sam and Scheve's phone thread was a classic Javi threatening to keeeel Stevegrant Amy gate The original Ted Bates statue thread The Paul Allen takeover Master Bates porn PMs I also remember a band of merry men invading other forums. One that sticks in my mind was a Facebook group called 'TSF completes my life'. TSF being the temple of Saint Francis in Manhattan. Those poor, unsuspecting, Evangelical New Yorkers didn't really know what to make of Southampton's finest discussing Keef and Monkey chicken petting zoos on their bible bashing page. I think half of those posters eventually got banned after posting obscene messages on a washing machine forum. Good memories indeed.

Good effort, I'll PM you my address, send her round tomorrow.

I will be working and won't have access to a stream either. Life owes me one for this disgrace, a playboy bunny covered in Nutella will suffice.

I had hoped there was a League 1 fixture on this day 6 or 7 years ago but the closest I can find is a trip to Oldham on 17th October 7 years ago. So there you go; Boundary Park to the San Siro in 7 years and 3 days. As for the team Forster Martina - Fonte - Virgil - McQ Hoj - Romeu - JWP Tadic Long - J Rod

There are frequently big teams featured on MNF, I could be wrong but this is the first time I can remember them not showing MOTD2 on a Sunday, in order to accommodate it. Don't see why they can't just have MOTD3, 'extra time' or whatever they want to call it. I doubt there is anything gripping on BBC2 at 11pm on a Monday, which couldn't be moved to accommodate it.

I'm no fan of him as a player but being an average Premier League footballer is a bit like saying you're sleeping with an average looking Miss World contestant. He's still one of the top 0.1% of footballers in the world.

Thought this thread was going to be about a glaring miss from 5 yards. As for the house, I really don't think it's anything to write home about, relatively speaking. As someone else pointed out, there are people who have been top doctors, lawyers, judges, bankers etc. Who have similarly affluent lifestyles. If you want to see something truly obscene, watch those MTV 'Cribbs' shows. Some of those American celebs just have disgusting amounts of disposable income. People with their own private golf course, wearing jewellery which would have paid for crop irrigation for half of Africa.

Wasn't that Higgy? Could have sworn he had one disallowed offside from a corner. Chalkias came flying out to claim a corner, got nowhere near it and ended up on the floor by the edge of the D, thus playing Higgy off in a bizarre twist of accidental genius.

Tessem got one against Sunderland from a Delap long throw once, c.2002.
-
Beattie scored in the game you're thinking of. Delap was the following year.
-
Not even close to David Silva against us in that game J Rod got injured. You could have driven a car through the space between him and the last man. Seem to remember Owen thinking it was onside too.
-
Sturridge with a cannonball from 1 yard away.
-
What's that? 4-6 weeks for a hammy.

They actually make for quite a decent drinking game. 2 fingers every time the 'tater says, "poor cross from Walker." Good times.
-
I'd like to think he is replacing Redmond in our first 11.
-
They were saying that about Morgan after 5 games too. Same with Adrian Mutu and El Hadj Diouff. As with Mané, let's wait until the end of the season before deciding he's a world beater.

You and I clearly have vastly differing definitions of the word brilliant. Tragic, tedious or predictable would have been more apt.
-
I think he meant it's sad that we don't want our players in the squad. Normally I'd want our players to get recognition but with our fixtures I'd rather they get a rest.
-
Somehow I think he might have been.
-
I thought he was largely excellent for us last season. Every bit as physical as Wanyama but more cultured on the ball and less of a card magnet. I'd say he was intended as VW's replacement when we signed him as the club would have known he didn't want to extend his contract.
-
In other news, Wanyama has been booked.
-
We're not in Israel now FFS.

We're due a win at Leicester. Been 9 years since we did anything other than lose there by my reckoning (the year they got relegated to League 1, when we beat Sheff Utd on the last day).
