How is Everton an upgrade on Saints? They been in the bottom half for the last 2 years.

People are annoyed by how we failed to convert so much possession around the Villa box and that for most of the game it was finely balanced on a 1 goal advantage. We had a 2-0 lead for all of 6 minutes and a 3-1 lead for 14 minutes. We were sloppy, gave away cheap goals, wasted chances and would have lost to a better team.

I'm not sure this game can be used as a yardstick for anything TBH. We were playing the worst team the Premier League has seen since Derby came up 10 years ago, it's very rare that you come up against a team that poor (although Newcastle seem to manage it at St Mary's every season).

Cruel on Everton really. Could see it coming a mile off with the chances they missed. Saints-esq.

I just don't think he contributed enough. People bemoan Tadic's finishing and wasting chances. He scored his 8th goal of the season today, whilst Davis has fewer goals in the last 2 years than Yoshida.

I'd say he looked pretty hungry, like the wolf.

Going to disagree on Davis and Long. The latter missed an absolute boatload of chances, as many as he might get in 3 games against decent opposition. Needs to improve his finishing and decision making in front of goal.

Even before we just scored, I'd have to disagree. We didn't exactly come flying out the gate but we've been alright. Villa fans really not happy now. Come on Saints, let's turn this into a cricket score.
