I think it's loudly been whispered by the club that we may see him on the bench against the whippet f**kers after the break, same with J Rod. Looking forward to the game personally.
-
Did we win yet?
-
I'd still have taken a night in my own home TBH, with my loved ones and creature comforts I'd find it much easier to relax. Leicester's not all that far really, either.
-
Is Morgan injured? Hasn't made the 18 for Utd today.
-
As good as they have been, their bench looks fairly ordinary, compared to the bigger teams like Utd, City and Chelsea. The real test will come when they get a couple of injuries, later on in the season.
-
Because, you know, they live there and stuff. Are they really going to feel better for spending 2 nights in a hotel in Leicester?
-
If we had put out a team of reserves and kids, I'd have been p*ssed. We didn't though, we just rotated players with others who are more than capable. The likes of Yoshida, Clasie, Long and Martina are all good enough to get a decent result and we did.
-
Interestingly, Matt just made exactly the same argument on SS.
-
Everton have cashed in on an astonishing easy set of opening fixtures but haven't really been anything special. We can certainly beat them this season.
-
It's a flight and a coach journey, not the Paris Dakar rally. 5 hours on what will basically be a business class private jet, drinking orange juice and watching Game of Thrones on an iPad shouldn't take that much out of them.
-
Excellent job IMO. Rotate the squad, keep a few players fresh for the league and come away from a tough away game unbeaten and without injuries.
-
We're limited by the injuries to J Rod and Boufal to an extent, I'd go with the same team who started at the London Mortuary last week.
-
Pulis came on as a sub in preseason once. He looked dreadful. Dreadful in a team of leftovers, after we'd sold the best players from our worst team in 50 years. Think he had a shot which went into row Z AND went out for a throw in. Might have been one of those preseason games when Jo Tessem randomly turned up for a kick about. Darren Powell, Christ he was bad. One of those players who was always injured, then got fit and you'd wish he was injured again.

I presume you take similar issue with USA, Mexico, Brazil and Australia. You will also be emigrating from Britain immediately, in protest at the violent way in which Anglo Saxon invaders seized control from the ruling Roman Empire.
-
Romain Gasmi, anyone? Tomas Pekhart, Jordan Robertson, Zoltan Liptak, Oscar Gobern, Lloyd James, Olly Lancashire. I find it equally tragic and hilarious that they were all first team players in the same season. That's not mentioning Forecast and Pulis on the bench.
-
No, he makes at least one error per game which leads to Forster having to rush out and make a slightly rushed clearance under pressure. Can't remember the last goal in which Yoshida was directly at fault but it wasn't this season. Meanwhile Fonte has had 3.
-
Based on that game, Gardos is as good as Mané.
-
Signed along with Kanchelskis wasn't he? Both were awesome for Saints it has to be said but they were no Ian Pearce or Stephen O'Halloran.
-
Fonte has looked just as suspect recently, with the penalties against Sunderland and Arsenal, plus losing Zlatan for United's opener. If Yoshi or Hooiveld had made those errors, they would get slated on here. I think they are pretty closely matched personally. Both composed, intelligent, decent in the air and read the game well. Yoshi has the odd moment with misjudged back passes (which is partly down to his limited game time) whilst Fonte is always a penalty waiting to happen with his constant shirt pulling.
-
Whether or not the likes of Hesketh and Yoshi should be in our strongest team isn't really relevant. You can't expect players like Fonte and Tadic to start every League and EL game, they won't be able to maintain their best form. I would take a fresh, motivated team over 'the best team on paper'. Just look at the Palace game and the team they put out.

Is this the furthest from Southampton we've ever played a competitive game? Anyway, a draw would keep us top of the table and you will go a long way in Europe not losing your away games. With that in mind I'd start Long ahead of Austin, and give the latter a breather ahead of Leicester on Sunday. Rotate the midfield. Forster Martina - Yoshi - Virgil - Bertrand Romeu JWP - Clasie Hesketh Redmond - Long
-
KUMB Hope this helps.
-
Let's all have a meltdown! Dull first half but an outstanding, efficient performance away from home. Bertrand, Tadic and Virgil all outstanding I thought. Austin with the two moments which mattered.

Yes Dusan!
