  1. Doubt he's on a massive contract and it's only got a year left. If I were him I'd take a short term pay cut if there was a decent offer on the table. Another year playing for our kids and he'll be largely forgotten about, even back home.
  2. Back to Romania on a free I'd have thought.
  3. We had enough strikers, they were just crap or injured. If the 3 we already had had done something, we wouldn't have signed Gabbi.
  4. I'm not a betting man but if I were I'd bet £0.10 that Defoe wont score 15 goals next season.
  5. No it isn't.
  6. You can forget anyone decent in the Prem, with the money going around they are going to have absurd asking prices on their heads. The only possible exceptions are unwanted kids at big clubs. The likes of Ake, Christensen or Januzaj might be on the menu, although still wont be cheap.
  7. Yes please. Even if he does discover his previous form (which is a massive 'if') we wont exactly have been mugged off.
  8. My memory of it was that we kept clean sheets by being defensive and leaked like a sieve whenever we played someone half decent. Jack looks like being a decent player but he is a long way from being the finished article.
  9. I fear you're right but I find that lack of depth disappointing. I hate to sound like Glasgow but if Everton are signing Keane, Pickford and Klaassen whilst we're replacing our captain with some Polish kid who's never played in England, I can't see us catching them any time soon.
  10. Nice that we're signing some good looking lads again. After Pelle and Morgan left, all the women and the gheyers had nothing much to get excited about.
  11. If they had put the goal facing sideways on the half way line, with Yoshida standing behind it, he might have scored.
  12. Agree. Looks like a f**king good welder to me.
  13. Sparta Prague, Dynamo Kiev, Utrecht and Qarabag are all playing preseason games in Austria in July, along with some Romanian team called Botoshani. Could be possible opponents.
  14. If people think Corbyn is somehow going to produce millions of cheap houses overnight, they really are deluded. It's supply and demand, I'm not sure why you'd think it was anything to do with the Torries. Young people have to rent rooms and share houses, you'd be deluded to think otherwise. I was in exactly the same boat until very recently; young, earning a very decent wage and living in a tiny one bedroom flat in Bristol. At what age do you think people should be able to buy a home?
  15. This is what I'm afraid of. Jack for Gardos I'm more than happy with but for me this is too much of a drop in quality and experience. If we get a couple of injures, would you really be happy with JS and JB playing together? Even as back up that's far too weak.
  16. If JS and this bloke are the long term replacements for Fonte and Gardos I'm a bit disappoint TBH. Not saying Bednarek doesn't have potential as I've only seen his U21 game but I don't want half our CBs being kids next season.
  17. Well of course not, that's an audience of almost entirely labour voters.
  18. I'm not sure that's actually a phrase.
  19. You take a gamble every time you buy a Ginsters pasty. It's part of life, no manager would be risk free.
  20. What about Germany, Italy, Japan and the Balkans.
  21. To each their own but I go to football to watch games, not so I can get all moist over numbers in a league table. The season before last wasn't exciting because we finished 6th, it was exciting because we beat Arsenal 4-0, City 4-2, Chelsea 3-1, Liverpool 3-2 (from 2-0 down in the last minute), won at Old Trafford in the last minute. Even with the crappy defeats at Burnley, Norwich and Palace I'd still take that over winning the Championship.
  22. No, the decision to apoint whoever it is we appoint will have failed spectacularly. Sacking Puel is, and always will be, the correct decision.
  23. Neville Chamberlain?
  24. Yes, depending on which war soggy is referring to; I assume he means operation Iraqi Freedom, not Desert Storm. Whether that war was justified is another subject and has been done to death but there is a clear moral difference between civilians being caught in crossfire and blowing yourself up at a pop concert full of teenage girls.
  25. Sounds like the Maginot line to me. I also wonder how effective NK troops would be in combat. Despite their pathological obsession with conformity and obedience, have any of their armed forced seen actual combat? They've not actually fought anyone for over 60 years, how effective will an inexperienced, half starved army of borderline slaves actually be when a Tommahawk take out 90% of their comms and radar stations.
