  1. I would go with: Stek Cedric - VVD - Caulker - Targett Wanyama - Romeu JWP - Juanmi - Tadic J Rod If Juanmi doesn't play a large portion of this game, I'll be a bit miffed as to his signing.
  2. Yoshida was picked today because he is about a foot taller than Soares, I thought that much was obvious. All these, "what's the point in signing him if he can't get in the team ahead of Yoshi," comments are just daft. Soares is still raw. He has the tallent and can deliver a decent ball but he isn't there yet. Koeman clearly thought that for today's game, the defensive presence of Yoshi would be needed. He was probably gambling on Felaini playing some part and needing a decent head at set pieces. It wasn't an unreasonable choice to make. Aside from one terrible mistake (as per Fonte last year so... drop Fonte too?) I actually thought he did alright today. Stek - Can't see what he has done wrong. Clasie - Can't make any judgement yet Romeu - By and large has been one of our better players Juanmi - Still young. Will probably feature more in cup games. Martina - Obviously another body for the Europa League. I don't think our signings have been that bad. Nothing spectacular but then Osvaldo and Ramirez were spectacular so...
  3. Brighton Forest and Derby replacing Sunderland, Newcastle and Villa would be pretty decent. With Bompey staying up too it would certainly annoy the Skates.
  4. Tyne and Wear derby in the Championship next year I wonder.
  5. 14:1 on a Leicester win at the moment, if anyone fancies a flutter.
  6. Surely Sunderland will go down sooner or later. They look hopeless and against some pretty forgettable opponents too.
  7. I had no idea referring to the 6th day of matches as 'Matchday 6' would upset so many people. There was me thinking £50 for tickets and £90k a week for incredibly average players were what's wrong with football.
  8. Are you suggesting that a footballer may be lacking in intelligence?
  9. Chelsea against Arsenal in the early KO. In other news, Jordan Henderson ruled out for 8 weeks with a broken foot.
  10. It's Bible belt American isn't it. Get the most inbred, redneck, God fearing, Arkansas trailer trash you can find and the Republicans will vote for him.
  11. Donald Trump is a multi billionaire and standing for President of the most powerful nation on Earth. Doesn't mean much, he's still a complete f**ktard.
  12. We got £12m for Walcott, £10m for Bale (if you include the original add ons), £16m for AOC and £7m for Jones whilst playing in the Championship. That's money filtering down from the Premier League is it not?
  13. Awards or not, he still comes across as a bit of a tool in most of the stuff I've seen him in. Painfully unfunny IMO. Miranda has won awards, so have Big Brother and X-Factor. Doesn't mean they aren't all dreadful, just means they're popular with idiots.
  14. On the ones the top clubs weren't willing to chuck money at. Such a system would make it impossible for a Saints, Everton or Swansea to challenge for the Champs League. The days of building a tight-knit squad around Lambert, Morgan, Fonte and Lallana would be history.
  15. The young players would all just end up leaving on a free after a couple of years. We MIGHT have got an extra year out of Shaw and Lallana but then they would have just left on a Bosman. This system would take away any point in having an academy. Why bring through youth players, knowing anyone half decent will leave on a free after a couple of years. Investing in a youth system would just be financially nonviable, when you can just sign players for free anyway. The only people who will benefit from this are players, who will earn even more, and the big clubs who can just hoover up decent players for free from smaller clubs.
  16. That just sounds terrible. Smaller clubs likes Saints wouldn't be able to compete at all. Anyone half decent would just be able to walk out of the club after a couple of year. Nobody would sign contracts of any kind of length because they wouldn't want to be stuck here for 4 years. All this will do is push up players wages. Money that would be spent on transfer fees would instead go into even bigger contracts for players. We would end up having to offer someone like Wanyama £100k a week just to sign for more than 2 years.
  17. In a vaguely defectorish way, Tim Sparv's Midgetland beat Legia. Meanwhile Forren and friends win 3-1 away at Fenerbache.
  18. For every Eriksen, Drogba, Coutinho or Rosicky, there is a Lamela, Beasley, Piper or Mido. Still interesting that we looked at him.
  19. We couldn't afford either of them truth be told. Both were or would have been poor signings at a time when we were lacking experience and quality.
  20. I just hope one day the world will look back and say they can't believe people smoked at all. It's the 21st Century and people are still taking up smoking. Bonkers if you ask me.
  21. Osvaldo comes on in the second minute of stoppage time against Dynamo Kiev. Was hoping he might do something petulant and Khacheridi would lamp him one. Sadly not.
  22. Probably on par with Gardos. Wouldn't be too happy with him playing every week but you wont find many better to be our 4th choice CB. Doubt we every planned to keep him permanently.
  23. He should be called Jorvik, surely.
  24. You're the moderator. I'm not sure why people like this, Dalek and alpine weren't banned years ago.
  25. I'm sure we can show him our support with a chorus of his old song. Truly horrible injury for the lad. I'm glad we don't have to play against him but not in these circumstances.
