  1. He put in a couple of decent performances but that doesn't prove he is up to it yet. Targett has also put in a couple of decent performances but I don't think he is quite ready yet either. My point about those youth players in the admin season was that they looked promising but they weren't ready for regular first team action. I wouldn't want to make the same mistakes when there is no need to. Reed is 20 years old, he wont be a has-been if he spends a year in the Championship.
  2. We can't give our academy players regular first team football if they just aren't good enough yet. The fact that we've brought in Clasie and Romeu and are considering loaning Reed out suggests he isn't ready yet. We gave first team opportunities to Oli Lancashire, Calum Davenport, Jamie White and Jake Thompson when they clearly weren't ready for it. Look how that turned out.
  3. My sources close to the club are telling me Fonte is Portuguese.
  4. Yeah, bigger clubs. Not Villa.
  5. I'm not quite sure how or why Villa would be a big pay day. It strikes me their squad has been lacking investment for years now.
  6. You're talking to a man who has already written off a 19 year old, based on the first game of the season. I wouldn't pay too much attention.
  7. Live on SS1 this evening. In a perverse way I kind of want them to go through, if they make it to R3 I wouldn't mind another trip to Fratton. Having said that, I wont cry too much if Derby stick 5 past them.
  8. I've been impressed with him so far. In an ideal world we'd get to keep him at the end of the season and let Kelvin and Gazza go. I'm sure there's room in our squad for 2 decent 'keepers, especially if we make it into Europe again.
  9. I'll take a laser pen or something and point you out to them.
  10. I think if this is Morgan's replacement and Clasie is being seen as more of an upgrade/replacement for Davis then I'm pretty happy.
  11. Glad you could make it Erico. Where are you sitting?
  12. I'm still trying to figure out how A Midsummer Night's Dream qualifies as a comedy.
  13. Stephens, Turnbull and McCarthy have to prove themselves worthy of a first team place first. The fact that they are on loan at Swindon and Boro suggests they aren't. Caulker is just a loan until Gardos is fit as far as I can tell. Fonte will turn 33 next season, he's getting to the age where we need to start thinking about a long term replacement.
  14. Or you could just stop quoting him because nobody cares what that idiot thinks.
  15. We still need another CB.
  16. I'd agree there is no chance, he isn't going to turn down Champs League football for Saints. He has a release fee of around £16m I thought, which is nowhere near double our record signing. Meeting that is the easy part.
  17. I'd go with something like - - - - - - - - - Stek - - - - Fonte - Caulker - Yoshi Cedric - - - - - - - - - - - - - Targett - - -- - - Wanyama - Davis - - - Mané - - - - - - - - Tadic - - - - - - - - - - Pelle I think we need extra cover at the back as Targett and Cedric aren't quite up to the job defensively yet, especially with Clasie not being up to speed and injured. J Rod, Long and Juanmi all there is we need to beef up the attack second half
  18. Really didn't get into that game although West Brom were hardly playing to his strengths. Typical Pulis performance, hit it long and kick the sh*t out of the opposition.
  19. The Baggies have been awful though. No tempo or creativity apart from a few occasional glimpses from Berahino. They've resorted to hacking down City players whenever they break through.
  20. 28% possession at home. Lambert playing very deep, most of his touches are around the halfway line.
  21. Can't believe how much space City are finding in WBA's third at the moment. The baggies just look static, no pressure and I don't think Lambert has touched the ball in the last 20 minutes.
  22. Myhill could have had 2 pints and gone for a p*ss in between, whilst he was waiting for that to cross the line. I know he was wrong footed but wow. Going to be a long night for Lambert. Being used as a target man and City's back four are pushing very high up, knowing he hasn't got the legs.
  23. I'd stick to talking about curly hair if I were you
  24. I'm pretty happy with that. Missing Clasie, Berty and our yet to be discovered Toby replacement, not to mention Fraser so conceding a couple away from home is hardly a surprise. Good solid hour for J Rod too even if he did have a quiet game. Mané... If he was burying those every week he would be at Barcelona.
  25. Amazing how Sunderland manage to stay up every year despite being so consistently awful. I think 2 years ago they got a draw at St Mary's and it was their only point in the first 10 games. I'll never worry about relegation as long as we're sharing the league with dross like this.
