  1. I think we can get £10m from somewhere.
  2. I knew we would struggle without J Rod but I didn't expect us to be hopeless. On the plus side we defended well, kept a clean sheet and Wanyama looked decent again.
  3. Norwich has to be the worst, with Everton a close second.
  4. WTF are you on about? As for Spurs, their net spend over the last 5 years is about £9m according to that link.
  5. I don't see any reason why we can't compete with the likes of Everton and Spurs personally. They both edge us in terms of gate revenue and merchandising sales but don't have significantly higher budgets. Our problem comes from a lack of depth and unfortunate injuries to Lovren, Boruc and the ineptitude of our record signing. If £15m had been better spent than that waste of space we'd be right up there with Everton, Spurs and even Arsenal this season. Wanyama and Gaston have been disappointments too. If we can find another JRod and Lovren at similar prices, we can improve next season.
  6. Nothing wrong with Fonte at all. He is however in his 30s and one of the players we will need to replace in the next couple of years. Seeing as how we have very little to play for it might be worth trying, just to see if he is a viable option there.
  7. I'd be tempted to go with a back four of: Clyne - Chambers - Lovren - Shaw It might not work but I can't see much else we're going to achieve this weekend.
  8. Little doggy's dead and gone He'll wag his tail no more 'Cos what he thought was H2O Was H2SO4
  9. Does she have any numbers written on the back of her head Spuds? Possibly involving the number 6?
  10. She should have used an A340, would have gotten much deeper penetration.
  11. Just put '@USAirways' into the twitter search bar. Imagine tub girl but instead of diarrhea she's got a scale model of a 777 hanging out of her vag.
  12. I wonder if that's where MH370 disappeared.
  13. Cardiff was only the 4th time we've lost to a team currently below us in the table, in 22 games. That's a pretty good record, especially when 2 of them were smash and grab raids by Cardiff and Villa, who have been otherwise hopeless.
  14. Jozy Altidore is always hilarious when he attempts to play football. Anyone who played for Norwich, Fulham or Newcastle this season is worthy of a mention though, Elliot excepted.
  15. Watched J Rod's goal against Liverpool last year in an Apres ski bar in Val D'Isere. There were at least 6 random Saints in there and we outnumbered the Liverpool fans. Sunderland away this January, was the only English man in another alpine bar, in La Plagne. Got a few looks from the natives celebrating Lovern's goal. Wolves 6-0 game, I had just moved to the USA. Having woken up at 3am and gone for a swim thanks to jet lag, I then watch us score 6 on some live score website. Southend 4-1 game we needed to win to make the playoffs. Still living in USA I set my alarm for 7am to listen to the game on Saints player. Celebrated that alone in bed (not a euphamism). Watched the Hull away win on a stream from a hotel bar in Oslo this year.
  16. I would disagree on a fee of those valuations. Clyne - Easily £8m - He only turned 23 last week and is already a top Premier League RB. HCDAJFU for 10 years IMO. Lovren - £16m - Must have doubled his value, Red Nev was practically masturbating over him in the first half of the season. Davis - £5m - He is only 29 and is a decent Premier League midfielder. Mayuka - £1m - He hasn't been great but he isn't worthless. Someone will take him. Forren - £2m - I thought we paid £4m and got half of it back. Could be wrong.
  17. Dream on. Poch will go to Spurs and 'Arry will come back to his 'spiritual homeland'. He will sell Shaw and used the funds to buy Darren Bent, Kevin Nolan, Zat Knight and Kieron Richardson.
  18. Have they found that Ukrainian airliner yet?
  19. Get well soon Jay. Our play will suffer badly without him IMO, integral to the way we play.
  20. Only if you had seen a foul in the build up, which the ref hadn't spotted. It's hardly a regular occurrence. We already have goals disallowed for offside. That doesn't stop people celebrating so I don't see why a video ref would either.
  21. That being a hypothetical scenario which probably happens once a year out of all the Premier League fixtures. My answer is yes, only without the silence.
  22. 1. Yes. Just because we can't solve every problem, doesn't mean we should ignore all of them. 2. No. If a foul occurred 2 minutes before the goal is scored then the defending team has had ample opportunity to get back into position and defend properly. Any advantage gained from the foul will be largely negated and the defending team will have had to have made mistakes of their own for a goal to be scored. I would say a time limit of maybe 30 seconds for the video ref.
  23. That just doesn't make sense. TV is a video recording of exactly what happened and you can see it in HD from about 10 different camera angles, slowed motion, freeze frame etc. etc. It is a far better way of judging an incident than one man, running, 20 yards from the incident, who gets one look at what happened at full speed, possibly with a bunch of players blocking his view. How can you 'not see the speed a player goes down' from looking at a video? That doesn't make sense. Same with the the direction the player is looking, I've seen dosens of replays of players diving when it's blatantly obvious a player is looking at the ref before he even falls over.
  24. Yes. Although I don't see how he can not give a goal now we have goal line technology telling the ref the ball has crossed the line. It's not a perfect system but it would iron out a lot of problems with the game. Diving would be pretty much wiped out if every player knew the foul was going to be reviewed before a penalty is given. The only scenarios where it wont help is if there is a foul which should lead to a penalty or sending off but it isn't seen by the officials and so there is no stoppage in play. We already have retrospective bans for incidents the ref didn't see, so that's not so much of an issue anyway.
  25. If the system is only being used when there is a break in play anyway then they should have as long as it takes. You can easily watch a bunch of replays and make a reasonable conclusion in the time it takes 10 players to hug each other and walk back to their own half after a goal. It should only be used for game changing scenarios like goals, fouls (including offside) in the build up and red card offences.
