Seems ligit to me although I didn't know Gazzaniga was Nigerian.

No, it's imperative that we appoint the right person and don't rush into things. I very much doubt we will be buying or selling before the WC. Agents will want to wait for a deal, knowing a decent WC will push the prices up through the roof. We are lucky it's a WC year, there is no great rush to do anything. Not appointing a manager will be far better than announcing tomorrow that we've appointed Hughton, Sherwood or Whiskey George

That soon disappears when you're paying wages and N.I. for Soldado, Lamela, Adebayor, Lennon, Paulinho, Eriksen, Sigurdsson, Dawson, Lloris, Freidel and Vertonghen. We finished 2 places below Spurs and most of our talk has been about balancing the books and reinvesting from player sold. Spurs wont be spunking another £50m on 2 players with no Champions League money, they wouldn't have a hope of passing FPP.
-
And Van Nistelrooy, Beckham and Heinze.
-
No way Spurs have that kind of money. They've already spunked the Bale money and then some on transfers and wages for Soldado, Lamela etc.

Impossible to know whether it was a lack of boardroom ambition or Poch just not wanting to be here any more. What can Spurs realistically offer him other than a Europa League spot he couldn't give 2 sh*ts about. They must have promised him a healthy transfer kitty to get into the champions league I guess.

Ditto. It's a pyramid scheme.

I'm really not sure if this is sarcasm or just idiocy.

Their combined abuse of the words 'there' and 'loose' is going to give me nightmares tonight.

SOU is badly limited by its runway, which is too short and narrow.
-
Katowice has got to have one of the worst runways. Old Soviet concrete slabs which you can bounce along for take off and landing. Grenoble's terminal makes coming home from a ski trip thoroughly depressing. I much prefer the ski train to the Alps. Riga was pretty dull inside the terminal but is one of the easiest in the world to fly into. I've managed to bang one of our cabin crew against the roof on a particularly turbulent approach to Malaga once. French Airports. All of them. I had to abort a landing into Bezier once because someone was towing a banner selling time share around at the end of the runway. Strangely neither he nor the air traffic controller saw this as a problem and I had to tell him to get out of the way on the second approach. Marrakech. The ATC their is hopeless. Madrid and Rome FCO are probably the two biggest, most badly organised f**k ups in Europe. The scariest airports are widely acknowledged as being. - Lukla, Nepal. In the Himalayas, enough said - Gibraltar. Turbulence coming off the rock with a SW wind can be pretty hairy. - Toncontin, Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Very tricky circling approach onto a short runway surrounded by hills. - Madeira. Wind shear and variable wind on approach. - Courcheval. A runway on the side of a ski slope.

Just as much a key part in our League 1 promotion as Guly IMO. Scored 15 goals to help take us up that year and would have been decent enough in the Championship without his injury. Scored some vital goals including: - The only goal in a 1-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday. Saints first goal in about 5 hours I think and Adkins first win. Kick started our season. - The equaliser away to promotion rivals Bompey. - The winner in that 3-2 game against MK Dons He also scored a few the season before but it wasn't quite enough to get us into the play offs. - Both goals in a 2-0 away win against eventual Champions Norwich. - Last minute equaliser at Brighton - Last minute winner at Yeovil Good luck Lee!

Anyone else going to the Premature Ejaculation Society Christmas party next week?
-
I can just see the first game of the season now. Man Utd away, 70,000 fans. Luke Shaw is parading the Jules Rimet Trophy in front of his new home fans. Meanwhile Saints, captained by Jono Forte, are being forced to play in their pants and vest by the PE teacher because they didn't bring their sports kit.

13 years later I'm still waiting for Bierhoff to be unveiled at St Marys. I still think the Skacel rumour was the best. It may only have lasted 6 months but it was far more hotly debated. The Morgan thing is more of a slow burner.

Is the Spurs job really that attractive? Cue derisory responses of, 'OMG the mong board know it alls honestly believe we are bigger than Spurs' but what can they offer that we can't? They don't have silly money to chuck at transfers and wont be in the Champions League. We already know Mopo couldn't give two sh*ts about the Europa League and Spurs have a history of dressing room disharmony and managerial sackings. Trying to put a neutral perspective as possible on things, I still can't see the point in going to Spurs. Money would be the only real motivation but we aren't exactly cheap skates these days.
-
I'd say his price tag is a good aiming point for our transfer targets. Obviously we should pay the going rate for a priority target but spending above £10m comes with a lot of risk for a club of our size. More players in the £7m JRod to £12m Wanyama caliber should be our target.

Good job we're selling them, you'll never win anything with kids.

I thought Daehli looked like one of Cardiff's better players at St Marys, has anyone seen any more of him? Looked pretty composed for a 19 year old, if he was cheap he might be a decent option. That's just based on one game though.

Austrian... facial hair... conquering Europe... nope can't think of any jokes here.

Saints 1 Manchester Utd 1 - Post Match Reaction
Lighthouse replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Good game, good atmosphere. It's easy to see why Utd are where they are, I don't remember Boruc having to make any particularly challenging saves and their goal came from a rather dubious looking foul from where I was sat. I think things might be getting worse before they get better for Utd. Looking at today's defence, Vidic is off, Ferdinand turns 36 next season and Evra will be 33. RVP will be 31 and has a dubious injury record already. Carrick will be 33, Giggs retired probably. Sure they will have Rooney, Matta and Januzaj up front but a gaping canyon of talent behind them, at least relative to the title contenders. Saints on the other hand look good. A couple of decent strikers in and a decent 'keeper should see us push on. Hopefully we can hold on to everyone but I've given up trying to second guess who is going and staying. -
He meant to sign for Notts County, he was just a long way out of position.
