I don't particularly have a problem with the Skates winning the cup. Not when half the players who won it for them were on £70k a week and have since gone on to sue the club for missed wages, unpaid image rights, failing to comply with PAYE etc. etc. I don't meet many Skates, living in Bristol, but when I do I've yet to hear one brag about the cup win in '08. A metal pot, a day out at Wembley and a half arsed venture into the UEFA cup, dont really compensate for going bankrupt and plumetting to the bottom half of League 2.

In a desperate bid to get back to the original question; Dean Windass. Not sure whether you would class him as a pundit but he used to do occasional match reports for Northern games on GSS. Never have I heard such razor sharp insight into a game of football as, "oh Jeff! oh it's goal Jeff, 'e's 'eaded ball it's... With 'is 'ead! It's in Jeff."

When that Norris goal went it I suddenly felt like i had no soul. I just felt completely empty, gutted. Never want to watch that again, even if we had the last laugh when the points were added up after 46 matches.

Not to worry, we can watch them getting spanked in a much brighter spotlight next summer, when they go crashing out in the group stages to Cameroon, Japan and Croatia.

Hart, Foster, Forecast Baines, Cole, Clyne, Walker Cahill, Jagielka, Jones, Smalling Gerrard, Wilshere, Carrick Walcott, Lallana, Townsend, Milner, Barkley Rooney, Sturridge, Lambert, whoever performs best out of the rest. I'm not writing off JRod yet, still think he is better than Welbeck. I wouldn't write off JWP or Shaw just yet. They aren't ready just yet but are performing well and improving. Injuries to first teamers could open the door for them. I'd hope to see both in the squad after the WC, when I'd expect Lampard, Gerrard and Cole to have retired.

No, we are just constantly baffled at how he gets regularly selected for England despite being poor. Imagine JRod putting in regular performances like he did tonight and still getting picked. I would imagine most England fans would be rightly frustrated. IMO JRod deserves another chance but Germany will be too much for him and will do his chances more harm than good. Maybe a 2nd half sub appearance. Lallana had an average game but was no worse than anyone else on the pitch. If anything I'm reminded of Beattie's debut, where he had the misfortune to start in an embarrassing display against Australia.

Just as an idea, what if every time there were international fixtures we played a 'B team' fixture against another nations B team. Not necessarily the same nation the first team were playing but another competitive European or world nation. The idea being that players like Lallana, Lambert, Clyne etc would get to train with the 'A Team' and the England coaching staff and play in a fixture with similar players on the fringes of the squad. Let's suppose there was a rule that only players with 5 caps or less for the first team were eligible. As far as I am aware there are no such plans for something like this, I'm just wondering if people would support the idea.

I've put Hull's keeper and a defender in my dream team, so between us we should have ensured a good healthy win for Saints.

Fantastic! That's all I've got to say. Actually I've got more. How far has this club come whe. We've got 3 players in the England squad and we can still feel aggrieved that 3 more didn't make it.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of it's 100% Cardiff. Definitely wasn't the Brum game at SMS that season because that was the 4-3 game when we got 3 goals in 6 minutes.

Chris Baird likewise in a game against Cardiff. Bale was lining up the FK and nobody expected Baird to shoot instead. Won goal of the season I think.

Our second string isn't exactly weak, I think we should have a bit of faith in them. To be fair, we did forgive Kelvin after his howler against QPR when that dead bloke scored against him. Think he had another in the same season where a daisy cutter roller through his legs. Both were much worse than what Boruc did yesterday. The criticism Kelvin gets is based largely on his faults, rather than isolated incidents. I wouldnt mind the odd howler if he commanded the box as well as Artur and didn't get beaten at the near post so regularly.

If we beat all the teams in the bottom half we'd have 60 points before we'd even played the top teams. Everyone drops points against teams beneath them in the table. We beat Swansea, Palace, West Brom and Fulham, all teams typically around or below us so it's not like we alway cock it up. A draw at Stoke is neither here nor there, Champions League teams will go to the Britannia and draw this season.
