Saints win Wigan win Villa win Three points above the drop zone with 30 still to play for and we are definitely safe. Wow.

Fantastic! West Ham are getting dragged into this kicking and screaming.

Newcastle 4-2 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction

First goal, not a lot we could do. Unlucky rebound Clyne should probably have been better possitioned to stop the first shot. Second goal. Shouldn't have been a free kick, was offside but a wonder strike none the less. Nothing we could do about that, Shaw beaten for the header though. Third goal. Stupid from fox, why he had his arm up there I don't know. Fourth goal. Again stupid, no awareness from Fox at all, he could easily have let it go or turned away from the goal but hoofs it into Jos' chest instead. -

Harry wont be rubbing his hands over anything for quite a while, even if he beats us next week. 38 points is a fairly realistic points target for safety. QPR are 21 points off that so they need 7 wins out of their last 11 games. As bad as we were today, QPR were garbage against Man Utd. There was nothing in their performance to make them confident of getting a result at St Marys. Yes I know it was Man Utd but they weren't even in it. We made them work for it at OT a few weeks ago and deserved a point. QPR just didn't turn up at home and Utd cruised to victory in 2nd gear. -
Need a massive response and I think we should do it at home. If Taraabt has an off day or our defence keeps him quiet they seem very short of goals and ideas. Fonte in for Hooievld I think if fit. Oh and it's 'arry's first visit to St Mary's since he left to go back to Pompey so, you know... let's make him feel welcome and all that.

If he is poor when he comes on, he isn't fine as back up. Good back up was Butterfield and Dickson when we were in League 1. Fox is awful at this level.

Would have been delighted with 2 points from Man City and Newcastle. We've got 3 instead! -
Possibly because he was booked and we didn't want him to get a second yellow and miss the QPR game. Not a ridiculous decision, I just wish we had someone better to bring on than Fox.
-
Are you genuinely suggesting that making up 6 points on Stoke is as likely surrendering 10 to QPR? QPR are dreadful, they've won 2 games all season. They will need to win 4 or the bounce JUST to get to where we are now. If we finish below them I will throw myself off the Itchen Bridge, whilst every journalist in the country is busy ripping his cock off over how Redknapp is the second coming of Christ. 10th is a realistic aim. No reason we should be looking over our shoulders all season. If we play like we did against Man City, we will beat the likes of QPR, Newcastle, Norwich and Reading in the next few weeks. We've also got West Ham, Stoke and West Brom at St Marys. No reason at all we can't win 4 of those 7 games and that's us safe on 39 points.
-
Supposing we drew tomorrow that would leave us 5 points from 10th and 4 points above the drop zone. Pretty much in the middle with some awful teams below us and some average teams above. There's no reason to think we can't match the form of Norwich, Stoke and Fulham over the course of our relatively kind run in.

Foods that you used to hate and now love.
Lighthouse replied to View From The Top's topic in The Lounge
Have gone off excessively sugary foods since I've grown up. Don't like stuff like icing if it's too sweet. I still like chocolate and stuff but these days I probably enjoy a decent, properly cooked, medium rare, seasoned, mature rib eye steak (with BBQ or pepper sauce) more than anything else. So much so that I'll fork out €20 a day for one when I go skiing. -
Readings run in starting to look very unpleasant now. They've bottled their first 6 pointer which puts massive pressure on their other 3. I really can't see any wins in their other games either, maybe Liverpool at home but the rest are all horrible. Relegation 6 pointers mixed in with trips to Goodison, OT and Emirates before we go up there at the start of April. Their comeback kings tag has been pretty much wiped out the last 2 games aswell.

There is some garbage in the league this year. If we finish below any of QPR, Reading, Wigan or Villa I will be pretty disgusted.
-
That's a decent set of results for us. Not all that bothered about Norwich, would have been nice. Reading spanked at home. Pog out for a month. QPR now well adrift and look hopeless Soul crushing late defeat for Villa. Sunderland lose. I'll take that.
-
Norwich a bit of a bummer but you can't have everything.
-
Arsenal are f**king useless.
-
See you in a month Pog!
-
Matt Murray has no neck.
-
Which is starting to look just a little bit probable.
-
We need a few games where Reading go behind and don't make a come back, so that they lose that belief that they're going to come back in the last 10 minutes.
-
I'd have thought WBAC make a lot of their money from people moving abroad who don't have a lot of time and NEED their car gone and quickly. If you stick it on autotrader and 3 months later nobody has bought it, it is effectively worthless if your on the flight to Melbourne tomorrow.
-
Definitely a good omen for our trip up to the Mad stad later. The pressure on them to win that will be massive whereas a draw for us will be absolutely fine.
-
6 points behind Stoke. We have a winnable game in hand and they have to come to St Marys. No reason at all we can't finish above them.
-
Reading losing at home. That's my glass half full way of looking at it.
