What's not to buy? You think moving halfway accross the globe is easy and straight forward?
-
I don't think there's an upper age limit for jeans. It's Jeremy Clarkson look of beer belly, shirt tucked into jeans and badly matching jacket which should be avoided.
-
No, but Barnsley are 10 points closer to us, so I went with that. I think the best we can hope for there is a shed load of injuries and suspensions for Millwall ahead of next weeks cup tie. It is looking like a pretty bad weekend for us based purely on the fixtures, but there is normally at least one cock up amongst the top teams. Who would have given Bristol City a prayer at St Mary's (apart from Saints fans).

Saints not in action until Monday, but there are some very important games going on which will affect us. West Ham look likely to know us off the top for the first time in months, assuming they get anything from their home game with Forest. Here's the fixtures and what we're after Barnsley vs Millwall - Away win Brum vs Watford - Away win Blackpool vs Palace - Draw or away win Bristol vs Doncaster - Irrelevant Burnley vs Derby - Draw Cardiff vs Pompey - As painful as it is to say it, away win Coventry vs Boro - Home win Leeds vs Ipswich - Away win Posh vs Brompey - Home win Reading vs Hull - Draw Wham vs Forest - Away win I can quite easily see Pompey and Cloterill just collapsing somehow. Any chance of sticky?

Most random player name you've had on the back of your shirt?
Lighthouse replied to Big_Bald_Si's topic in The Saints
As far as I can remember I've got shirts with Beattie, Pahars, Tessem, Ormerod, Rasiak, Saganowski, Skacel and Oakley lying around somewhere. I've got some shirts from other clubs with much more random names on them. -
I'm sure there is a lot of work Lee needs to do, a lot of it which he has to do himself. Even trivial stuff like selling his cat, packing all his stuff into boxes, paying off his council tax, settling the gas bill... it will all need to be done and it's not stuff he can just palm off onto his agent. I've moved abroad before and I'm looking to do it again. Whilst I will have/had help from various people it wasn't easy and there were a lot of tedious procedures to go through. I'm not sure why people are getting concerned about this deal. They wouldn't have posted all the stuff on the OS about it being a done deal unless it was a done deal. We've got the work permit. We wouldn't even have bothered applying for one unless Lee had agreed a contract and we'd agreed a fee (if there is one) with Hiroshima. The fact that Nigel hasn't mentioned it in any recent interviews would indicate nothing more than there is nothing interesting to report. What do you want him to say, "Lee has sold his cat, but he still needs to drop his barbeque off at Uncle Keith's house and find someone to feed his goldfish"? Patience, please.

I was at the Ricoh with a face like a slapped arse at 2-2 and dancing on my seat when De Ridder scored. Overall I think that's better value for money as a fan. If that game finished 2-0 it would have meant an utterly forgettable second half.

Christ please don't encourage him, there's enough trolling on this board as it is. He is probably refering to some random posts on twitter, from people CLAIMING to be football agents (but in reality could be absolutely anyone) saying Saints are difficult to negotiate with. His post is just nonesense. Moaning about Bignall and Forte signing, whilst ignoring Cork, Jos, Chaplow and Fox. Adkins "has his failings" really? A manager who isn't perfect!? Get rid of him straight away we need to hire a Messiah. He has been on Adkins case from day 1, even though we've gone up 40 odd league possitions in the 15 months since then. Another one for the ignore list.

Looks like something Whisky George would come up with.

He's a legend, but would you want him touching your bottom?
Lighthouse replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
I saw a couple of interviews he's done recently on youtube, one of them popped up on the suggestions for the video in the OP. Not sure why this is in English but it's good to see Marian again none the less. Would be awesome to see him here again in some capacity. Coach or a youth team manager one day perhaps. -
Really? You find it amazing? Seriously? I think alpine posting negative opinions, which are obviously wrong and based on no evidence at all, is probably the least amazing thing I've ever seen. He's only done it 17,000 times before. Just ignore him.

Have there really been any? Delap - I'll give you that, expensive flop. Why we spent so much on an average, midfield utility man from Coventry I don't know. Delgado - He was a decent player, just crippled. As long as Hooper has 2 working knees that shouldn't be a problem. Phillips - £3.25m for a player who bags 15 goals a season in the Premier League isn't too bad. Prutton - Was half decent in the Premier League, I thought he was a bargain for the first 2 years. Was never the same after his long suspension and injuries. Aside from that, I can't think of anyone we've spent more than £2m on. Burley spent a lot of money, but there were no big money signings. I think Rasiak for £2m was about as expensive as it got.

Stick an ostrich egg in there for about 20 minutes, should sort your problems out.
-
Sordell. Pace is an asset at any level and our strikers lack it.
-
Never wrestle a pig. You both get dirty, but the pig will enjoy it an awful lot more.

They joy of having Cork in your side is he a very capable defender as well as being a brilliant midfielder. Should one of our defenders get injured, I'd just bring on De Ridder, stick him on the right and have Cork fill in whichever defensive possition sustained the injury. It's not a permanent solution and is a little bit George Burley, but it would surfice against anyone in this league.
-
Skacel was a pretty good player for us and worked very well with Bale down the left. Most of our attacking play came from those two in the CCC playoff season. He never lived up to the 'signing on the pitch' fiasco but that was nigh on impossible. Taking him on merit, he was a decent player. It's not really fair to have a go at Saganowski either. Burley signed him, them played him for about 20 minutes every other game. I remember Burley sending him on for the last 45 seconds of injury time once to try and win a game. Besides, pretty much the whole squad was under performing that season anyway. The fact that Saga made the Polish Euro squad at the end of it would indicate he was actually a half decent player. As to the original question, I remember when Morgan signed people were saying we'd beaten off competition from Arsenal etc. then when he actually played looked like a fish up a tree for his first season. Worked out in the end though, so I guess that doesn't really count. Leandre Griffit was hailed as the next big thing, but turned out to be a bit crap. Not really a high profile signing though. Phillips was half decent, don't get that nomination either. Overall, my vote goes to Delgado I think.
-
Gelling was just Burley's excuse for being a sh*t manager who wasted a lot of money. Building a new team pretty much from scratch like Leicester did and we did in we did under Pardew takes time, however we'd pretty much got things sorted after less than 2 months. Signing Falque, Lee and one other isn't going to rock the boat, especially seeing as they wont be starting games immediately.
-
Davis Richardson - Jos - Martin - Fox Cork - Morgan - Hammond - Lallana Guly - Connolly Subs: Bart, De Ridder, Chaplow, Lee, Falque Hard finding space for everyone really. 5 subs rule is getting on my tits.

Olly Murs JLS Jedward Can't be arsed to try and remember any more, but you get the idea. I can respect any artist who made it on their own, regardless of my own personal taste, but not this reality TV sh*te. They are all the same bland, tallentless wannabes who apparently should be famous just because they can sing karaoke fairly well on ITV. and Peter Andre

Biggest threat to promotion besides West Ham?
Lighthouse replied to BrokenGusBus's topic in The Saints
I'll say Reading. Cardiff are the perennial bottle jobs. Middlesboro I just don't really think are that good. Brum have financial difficulties, but should be there or there abouts. Hull... hmmm can't see it Leeds have been inconsistent I'm not getting complacent here, they will all give us a run for our money, but I think Reading and Wham will be the biggest threats, then Brum. -
Yeah, it was getting a bit scraped down the bottom of the slopes leading into Mottaret, although that was probably down to the large number of skiers. Off to Val D'Isere in a couple of weeks, can't wait.
-
Just got back from Meribel. Couldn't have asked for better conditions last week. A massive dump of snow the week before, then clear skies and calm winds the whole time we were out there. Could do with a bit of a fresh dusting now I expect.
-
Might be able to. Not sure yet, but they're my dates off.
-
Fixed. Anyway Saturday 26th would be my first day off. You know the rest mate, I'll leave it up to you.
