  1. Probably a good time to play them. With so many new signings they are a bit hit and miss at the moment, whereas we're on the crest of a wave. I'd imagine in the second half of the season Leicester might be the team to beat. Good to get this fixture out the way now, but will still be our biggest test so far.
  2. Confirmed on BBC the pilot (Flt Lt Jon Egging, 33) was killed in the crash. R.I.P. Very sad. I've loved the Red Arrows for as long as I can remember.
  3. Wouldn't have been if it wasn't for Leibherr. That deal could have been the transfer which wiped Saints off the face of the planet. Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted he has signed a new contract and think he's a fantastic player, but at the time it was a dreadful signing.
  4. Yeah, good luck however you decide to play it. I was lucky enough not to need grades for my chosen career path, but straight A's should get you into most places. If not, you probably need a more active social life (not trying to be funny there).
  5. Would be pointless with his injuries. I'd take Gorkss, but only if he genuinely wanted to be here and didn't hang around like a stale fart because he got kicked out of QPR.
  6. A 2 page thread about Pompey attendances on the main board. Seriously? For such an apparently, 'tin pot nothing club' our fans sure do seem to have a sad obsession with them. Attendances in particular. Yes, on average our crowds are bigger, we get the message. We don't need another f**kin' thread every time they knock another dosen off their personal best.
  7. Can't really say I'm borther about what Brighton fans think. I've nothing against them, I'm just indifferent. It's not exactly a local derby and now we've both got Pompey in the middle to distract us. Most of their fans seem alright, good luck to them.
  8. What, it's a shame he hasn't been sat on his arse for 35 years since he retired from playing football? For me the shame is knowing people like Barton and Rooney will never have to do an honnest day's work in their whole life the way footballers wages have gone recently.
  9. Remember the last trip we took up there, in the new year 2009. It was the last game of Mark Wotte's mini-revival. I was on holiday at the time and I genuinely believed we would win. When we did I was convinced we would stay up. Sadly after that game we went to Brum and lost 1-0 and just plummeted into the abyss there-after. Euell scored twice (His only goals of the season, feckin' donkey) and Matt Paterson got the other. Last game against them in the cup was pretty good too. Mainly for Wayne Thomas' absolute howitzer of a goal and his brilliant celebreations afterwards. That remains one of my all time favourite Saints goals. Antonio tapped in the rebound from a Lambert free kick to give us a 2-0 lead. Then on the stroke of 90 minutes they get a goal back and the 4th offical holds up a board with 6 minutes of injury time. Made me feel sick. Remember singing "Keano, what's the score" and after the match, "We want Pompey!" And we got them unfortunately. As for Tuesday, I'd stick with the side that started at Barnsley, with De Ridder in for Guly. Anyone know when Barnard is fit?
  10. Hang on a sec. We're rewriting history a tad there. We went on a fantastic streak at the end of Pardew's season in charge, winning 8 and drawing 2 of our last 10 games and that's not including the 4-1 Cup final win in the middle. Even taking our very troubled League 1 birth into account, we were still the second best side over the course of the season. As for being 20th in the League, well we were 10th in the League when Sturrock was sacked after 2 games. Hardly makes him a top half Premier League manager. It just means you're drawing conclusions from a ridiculously short period of games (in this case, 1 it would seem). Adkins is doing a brilliant job, but let's not p*ss over everything Pardew achieved.
  11. Sorry to hijack Dan's thread, but I'm going to anyway. I'm also looking at possibly moving to Southampton. On my own, so only need a 2 bed appartment or house. Anyone got any experience of the new flats around Ocean Village or can reccomend some other decent places? Will only be commuting in and out once a week, so traffic/location issues are less of a problem,
  12. Didn't think it was a red at the time, but having seen FLS; what a plank!
  13. Picture 35 on the OS gallery. Why is DC wearing Ryan Dickson's shorts? Did the pair of them get dressed in a hurry at half time perhaps. P.S. Doyle looks a bit of a cockle from some of those pics.
  14. He looks almost as pleased as Adolf, my vacuum cleaner.
  15. I'm trying to think of actual names, because some of these puns are making my soul hurt. Kamil KoSOWski is all I can think of.
  16. Albino!!!!! If you were there, you will understand. Think I aged 20 years in injury time. Gripping stuff though. Cork and Lallana absolutely ran the show. We blitzes them until the sending off.
  17. Pretty sure Oldham, Nottingham and Sheffield are in the North.
  18. Jennings looks like Elton John, before he started going bald.
  19. Euro 2012 - Poland and Ukraine Maybe a clue there
  20. Another LB WTF? Oh well, I trust Adkin's judgement better than my own. Seems odd though. It was only a year ago Dickson was the future. Now it seems he's out on his arse, along with Fish.
  21. Next time it happens, just sh*t on the sole of one of your shoes. Then leave the shoe by your desk, claim you trod in dog muck and blame the smell on that.
  22. Decent result. I'd love to get Pompey in the next round... oh.
  23. Well, he was pretty young at the time and had only just signed. Wiki says he signed a 4 year contract, but it must have been at least 3. Long enough for us not to be forced into selling certainly.
  24. Anderson was 19 when he signed for Utd. 30m euro I think it was.
