  1. Why are we bringing on another winger w've already got one too many on the pitch already
  2. No clue why we thought leaving Ings completely isolated was a good idea. I could maybe understand it against the likes of Man City but not a very average Villa side
  3. Atrocious by saints deserved to be losing(despite the bizarre penalty call) Bring on Adams and stop spending the whole game passing ponderously backwards
  4. We’ve slow ponderous with zero cutting edge.
  5. Odd decision to drop Adams imo. Nervous about the makeshift right back.
  6. I'd definitely advocate resting walcott and using him as an impact sub today.
  7. I knew there was someone else terrible after Groves.
  8. Interesting read. I'm one who thinks he's deserving of credit for his part in the good years and deserving of criticism for his role in the bad years. Think the interviewer could have done with pressing him more on issues like Carrillo(why splurge money on a manager's personal preference of signing when writing was on the wall about his fate). The issue of compensation is interesting too, the club obviously was perfectly happy sacking managers(paying compensation) but not paying it to get their manager of choice. Did he request to break company policy, if not(why not), if so who refused him permission. Also find some of the rationalisation funny, Carrillo had played champions league that must mean he was good!, hoedt wanted to play left side so why was he so bad once van dijk left. (apparently he's now a success i missed that startling turn of events)
  9. Leicester haven’t had quite the same series of horrendous transfers after selling talent and lucked out with windfall from champions league year. However they still feel similar with us aiming to get back the levels and they followed. They still have to sell to the big boys but A big thing for them was keeping vardy and i’d really hoped keeping ings would be similar to us. It’s a thoroughly depressing thought that he might go there meaning they have a quality vardy successor for 3/4 years instead
  10. Ahh I was hoping they’d caught the kwp situation early and with a week’s rest he’d be ok. Think any of any options is a bit of a roll of the dice.
  11. Definitely in the camp of he could do with a loan after Tuesday's display. Hopefully it's a sign that we are in advanced stages of bringing a cover loan in.
  12. If he's the great talent you maintain he is the most likely reason is he isn't putting in the effort and therefore not impressing despite being talented. Maybe boxing training wasn't what Slattery should have been doing in preparation for that season. I'd want to review the academy and check that they are firmly communicating what's expected of the players. There's certainly not the blocked pathway to the first team that there was previously.
  13. I wouldn’t call it personality i’d Call it attitude/mentality which is absolutely essentially in being a talented failure or being a success. If yankewitz doesn’t want to play u23 games it probably shows and I agree with giving opportunities to ones trying to impress/improve over someone who doesn’t. as for slattery maybe he was doing the wrong sort of work when he supposedly came back in the shape of his life which meant he didn’t impress to go on tour.
  14. Feels an important game, especially after the recent losses. Win and we're back looking upwards.
  15. Ralph seems to reward people with the right attitude.(Tella rewarded for impressing for U23's etc). My guess is that Jankewitz dropping right down the pecking order is of his own making.
  16. At least Villa are losing
  17. Good he’s got opportunity to go back to where he was clearly rated and playing well. Looks a good place to build his post saints career.
  18. My guess is that diallo’s arrival is exactly what has put his nose out of joint.
  19. Disappointing news. Was him not starting against Shrewsbury related to It.
  20. Thought Vokins was a lot worse than Valery last night. I'd guess Ralph agrees as he dragged Vokins off to put a midfielder in his place.
  21. That’s idiotic imo. He just looked jaded today. Just swap him out for Redmond for a game and use him as an impact sub instead.
  22. The predicable result given the injuries and quick turnaround. Thought we actually played reasonably well. We essentially had almost a complete second string defence and it showed. SHame after taking a quick fie lead to let it slip away. They exposed the fullbacks. Valery i thought improved in the 2nd half. Vokins was very poor. Diallo caught out for the 3rd as a makeshift left back. Walcott looked very jaded. Good to see Redmond back, maybe start him instead at the weekend. Ings off par. Hopefully it was just the turnaround and he'll be fresher at the weekend.
  23. Well as feared the drop in quality at fullback is very noticeable. Disappointed in Vokins performance, was hoping he might step up. Some bright attacking play but maybe a game too far with injuries and short turnaround.
  24. Yeah I don’t see saints being willing to let him leave for nothing no matter the spin Semmens understandably is putting out. Most likely scenario is that he leaves in summer for best money we can negotiate like hojberg. Best case scenario is that clubs interested aren’t ones Danny is interested in & we’ve done well enough that he decides to come back to the table.
  25. Yep, doesn't seem an isolated case. Govt trade advisers appear to be advising companies to do such.
