I get people don't like Mccarthy but what is he supposed to do from a header in the middle of the 6 yard box and a rebound in the 6 yard box. He made a couple of decent saves, its on the rest of the team to be shutting those chances down earlier.

He told the ref to go check it, which is the procedure for (i think it's a pen but you go and check for yourself)

Think Dean was saying it was a fair attempt to get the ball, no red, not that he was saying it was no penalty.

Cracking save in the first half today and came and claimed nicely at the end when my nerves were shot at 2-2. Can't see how he could have done much about either goal.

Frustrating not to take advantage of the early dominance. That first miss by djenepo was horrible. They've grown into the game and fortunately Mccarthy made a good save to keep it level.

Think KWP has been impressive in both outings on the left(though newport was very weak opp). Perraud hasn't been terrible but when one of your best players from the previous season shows impressive form at left back i think it was the obvious decision to see if it works from the start.

Don't see how about £35M on three established players equates to let's go with kids.

Amazed the CB they spent £27M on Saliba isn't considered good enough to play for them still. They'd rather play Kolasenac as a CB. With all the money they've just let Arteta spend i'm doubtful they are going to sack him soon either.

While i’d Love some sort of wage cap in theory, not sure even if the likes of UEFA did it, how you’d prevent a super league cabal of big clubs then basically rendering it moot.

An educated guess based on who his former club are and zero interest in him from other clubs despite his apparent freeness.

Think it’s far more likely the zero interest in him as free agent is because his demands are extremely high.

The reality is that romero’s Demands would be likely be hugely higher than theo’s so he isn’t a sensible suggestion.
