Simeu who has played 50 league games(in his natural position), over an unsuitable player coming back from injury player out of position and a kid who has never played. Yeah (to me that an error not a judgement call). I’d have had Stephens, like Leicester decided to play 2 of their first choice defenders, rather than getting humiliated
-
Except his special little daisies who he absolved of any blame.
-
No he deliberately hung out a bunch of players (inlcuding Perraud who he played horribly out of position). To me snidely going its my fault i picked those awful players is not owning up to making bad positional choices
-
Then own the decision.
-
. I don't really see why you couldn't play stephens, he dragged him all the way there to sit on the bench. Leicester are playing Faes again today, are we really suggesting Jack is incapable of playing Tuesday and Saturday. Simeu has at least played Cb at league 1/2 level if he was determined not to play Jack.

Yeah i assume they did. 100K a week player off the wage bill. Cashing in on a 28yrd old also a factor. I'd have liked to have got a fee million more but it is what it is. JWP is not the Corporal Jones moment for me.
-
Yeah the only real question is who starts up front. I'd expect similar subs. S.Armstrong and Aribo, plus other striker(who Martin seems to rate, i hope there's more than what we saw last season there)
-
If it was an honest interview he'd have admitted playing a tiny unfit lb at CB was probably a contributing factor to getting destroyed by direct football.
-
Real shame the expected move has happened. Hopefully Saints can replace him with a seasoned pro like Grimes and not another developmental kid. Think if Moyes stays(which is the big question mark) it could be a good move for him. Unlike Saints i think they'll potentially get much more use of his set play ability from corners/free kicks

Brings back fond memories of the Jack Stephens as a defensive midfielder theory. The practice was awful.
-
Our finances may be better but the likes of Coventry and Middlesborough at this point will be after the lure of the premier league (which dwarfs our finances). Maybe in January if they are doing poorly they'll cash in. Last season's relegated teams didn't go round raiding the top championship clubs in August. Swansea seem to have a bit less ambition. Someone like Grimes is also at an age where if they can sting us for a massive fee they may view it as being a good deal
-
Pretty unrealistic. I certainly don't remember championship clubs trying to get promoted rolling over and selling best players regularly in august to other champ teams. We may be able to raid the weaker sides like Swansea but most of them won't have the good players. If we do sell a load of our first xi, i'll Be curious to see how many of their current week 1 first xi's Leeds and Leicester will be shipping out for comparison.

The reality is those either want to go to the prem themselves or their club's are going to be doing their best to resist selling them. So last thing I want to see is more desperate last minute garbage because we've been so weak we leave ourselves even more full of holes to fill.
-
Stoke were keen to keep him as he was a very good player at this level. Looked impressive against Wednesday too. We've enough holes to fill without selling the players suited to this league and that's before you get into the challenge of identifying good players willing to play at this level and prying them out of club's that don't want to sell them.
-
I'm sure there are people interested in KWP (he's under contract, so really i see zero reason we should let him get snapped up now, given we've lost Livramento and we could still sell him for a fair amount next summer if needed).
-
I'll be worried when/if it escalates into (smallbone, Tella, KWP, Alcaraz) Lavia and JWP departures have always felt factored in. Only thing was how much we were going to get. Hopefully we can get Grimes, which would give us that experienced head to replace JWP.
-
I expected JWP to go to West Ham, so my disappointment is muted. Fee seems a bit lower than i'd have hoped though.
-
Hasn't he got 2 years left? If so i don't see any reason to sell him, even if he's being coy about extending currently.
-
From the interview sounds like armstrong and Mara subs were premeditated as coming back from injury.
-
Onachu, just to defend set pieces. Only semi joking. Really curious to see how Martín addresses the aerial issue.
-
If there’s any truth to that rumoured awful deal, Martín must be lying and sulemana has no interest in playing for us.
-
Shane Duffy must be licking his lips for the set pieces
-
Not having extra games is hardly the end of the world(league is our focus) but definitely leaves a bad taste in the mouth that either Martin deliberately threw players under the bus or that he had such bad judgement to think that lineup was a good idea.
-
Hardly like it is news we want to move on squad players. don’t see howsetting them up to lose helps attract interest.
-
If only he’d brought a cb leader along like Stephens (oh wait he did, dragged him along as a spectator) for some reason.
