Wasn't a fan of the signing but can't see beyond him starting as no1 this season, given we invested a lot in him and we've tonnes of other issues. He impressed at league 1 level, so hopefully that wasn't his ceiling and that he'll be better at championship rather than being dunked in at the top level with no experience.
-
Not someone i've ever been particularly impressed by. Picking up players leicester don't think are good enough(otherwise why else would they be getting rid) to help them get promoted also feels rather odd.
-
So whilst i agree you don't want to blow the bank on year 1 i also don't think you should be aiming for later years over year 1. I'd think statistics would suggest there are better odds of getting out quickly than hanging round as the financial advantage of parachute payments dissipates. History would also i think back up how dangerous it is to leave it to the 3rd year.
-
I find that odd as its likely to be a false economy if true. Not getting promoted would cost the club a whole heap more. Sure they'll want to reduce the overall wage bill but recoup money rather than re-investing it seems unlikely to me and contrary to their messaging.
-
Yeah that's how i see it. We're contractually in a strong position with him so why rush to sell this season when his value is depressed by the injury layoff when the potential if he's the player we think he is would be greater in a year's time.
-
He didn't strike me as good on the ball either which would be a big concern if as reported martin wants to play a passing game.
-
And i suppose Adam Armstrong is guaranteed to get 29 goals again because he did it at blackburn so we don't need to buy a striker Selling our 2 actual quality right backs to rely on someone who looked competent in a luton team that played a very different style seems nuts to me.
-
Depending on a guy who was out of his depth last season seems nuts to me.
-
Relegated teams don’t tend to flog everyone that is good and keep the dross either though.
-
Maybe. I just don’t see the point in selling him unless it’s a crazy bid. I don’t see 30m as that.
-
I’d be severely underwhelmed if our asking price for tino was 30m.
-
I can’t see any logic in selling livramento, certainly not for that piddly suggested fee.
-
I'd assume he would be looking to Premier League rather than another championship club. But then guess Fonte came down a division to us last time round so who knows.
-
I'm assuming Adams is off given he's unlikely to sign a new contract. We need a real goalscorer. Just had a look at league 1 top scorers. See peterborough had the top goal scorer, 28yr old Jonson Clarke Harris. don't know much about him but his statistics seem pretty good (Scored 33 goals in league 1 in 20/21. Scored 12 for them as they got relegated from championship. Then scored 29 this season.)

They wanted inexperienced people who wouldn't ask questions. They sacked the experienced engineer who raised red flags about the safety. The more you read about it the more cowboy operation it seems to have been.
-
Sounds like they are trying it on.(trying to loan him with no real intention of buying)Can’t see why saints would accept unless he’s kicking up a stink.

Western sources admitting heavy losses. Is just priming people for the next type of weaponry we're giving Ukraine.
-
No we shouldn't, unless he's willing to sign an extension.
-
I'd prefer to get some money for him while he's under contract (and reinvest it in a replacement) and keep the likes of Tella/Armstrong who are under contract longer
-
Very disappointed but not entirely surprised. Going to be well and annoyed if as i expect he does well again. Likely truly annoyed when piddly fee we no doubt accept for him.
-
To me looking at our squad outside of premium players like Lavia/JWP who we might struggle to keep hold of and extreme dirge (orsic etc), you've got a largish group of players with contracts running down that i'd expect most would go if we can find homes for them. The only 2 i'd think we might be looking to potentially extend are smallbone and adams Alex McCarthy – 2024 Jack Stephens – 2024 Ché Adams - 2024 Stuart Armstrong – 2024 Mohammed Salisu - 2024 Ibrahima Diallo - 2024 Dan Nlundulu – 2024 Will Smallbone – 2024

Leicester seem to be in quite a good position. lots of players out of contract they can shed simply. A few they can get big money for. If they can get recruitment right like burnley did(who were in similar position) We are up to our necks in mediocre players with poor attitudes, that we have to somehow find away to get rid of.
-
Glad to see he's doing well. At the time i was disappointed we didn't give him any opportunities after he'd captained the u23 to promotion then had a successful loan spell in league 1.
-
It would be truly pathetic of the club to have blown that money on Sulemana to cheaply loan him away.
