Steele was a big surprise story, how he went from journeyman backup to playing in the prem. Last season seemed more of a struggle. Guess i can see some logic of veteran/used to passing style if he's a cheap Mccarthy replacement/Bazanu standin, though wouldn't be my first preference.

Been a good player for us, very good value for the fee we paid. Sad as it is to see him leave, its probably the right time to part ways.

would be a crazily stupid and lazy idea to run it back. most likely result would be deadline panic after a poor start. There’s loans/free agent routes to go down if they want to avoid paying a big fee whilst bringing in competition / initial starter

Hopefully if we're struggling again this January that window will remind the club what an awful idea it is to try and spend big money in January.

I want an experienced keeper, not a repeat bazanu. We've already got a man city development project. I'd guess Burnley would want a fair amount of money too despite his struggles(just as we wouldn't have sold Bazanu off cheap because we'd invested heaviliy in his potential)

The way he behaved as captain on his way out still rankles with me. If he was 4/5 years younger then maybe i'd see the whole make amends thing but struggle to see what he offers as a player at this stage Seems like it may be more a case of Saints doing him a favour than him giving back.

Not a huge fan of Fraser, as i think Championship is sort of his level now. If they are giving him away on a free i guess that makes him an ok depth option but then there's the issue of what sort of contract length he wants.

It’s more a case of saying the kitchen is functional(so short term a massively expensive upgrade) isn’t a priority when there’s holes in the roof and no shower. some people seem to be acting like we’re still a top 10 team rather than a newly promoted bournemouth/forest who’s primary aim immediately will be to survive.

In the short term we are going to be in a relegation battle ( most likely), so relegation battle standards AA, Stephens, bednarek are fine.

Don’t get the Stephens hate. He’s a good championship player and he’s passable if not great in prem. given the multiple holes this team will need to fill I doubt we’ll be upgrading the likes of him or bednarek soon.

Leeds were very poor i thought, apart from James' late contribution. Mccarthy had one decent save to make and a couple of good punches. We had some good spells today. Edozie could/should have made it more comfortable.
