I thought today was a day where we needed to show some flexibility/pragmatism. Instead we lined up in our usual 4-2-2-2 and made it easy for an Arsenal team that would have been under pressure after a string of tight losses(3 in last 4)
-
Pretty sure he'll be given the christmas period. If he doesn't win at least one of those 4 games well i'd expect him to be toast
-
3-0 only because the goal post was more effective than Willy as a GK.
-
So after Man City win with a dodgy penalty, the refs in the later games follow suit for the other title rivals. quel surprise
-
1st Bright start to only then meekly surrender. Second half similar, get a let off for one corner goal to concede an equally bad one shortly after. Struggling to find positives. Tella looked bright. Lyanco looked ok when he came on(why he was dropped is the question) Negatives. Midfield without Romeu looks poor. Bednarek awful. Willy looks like a 40 yr old has been. More injuries. At least we'll have Salisu and Romeu back for the midweek game. These next few games suddenly very big after the failures of Norwich/Brighton games.

Is ralph saving his final sub for extra time.
-
Yeah put walcott on. If there's any game he's going to be up for its this one.
-
Make a ****** sub
-
Where is the reaction by ralph to this?
-
Willy has gone all limp. Let's hope Mccarthy is back soon.
-
Don't see how that wasn't a penalty for Tella. Arsenal player made no attempt to play the ball. When you see the joke penalty decisions the likes of Man City get it makes me feel sick.
-
I want to see a replay of that
-
Where's the players busting a gut to get in their for the rebound
-
Also last week the defence looked comfortable until JWP/Mccarthy's brainfart. So why drop the CB to bring in two players who have been injured.
-
I think the set piece issue is more the fact we've got no threats. It's no surprise that our set piece goals have come from clever short corner routines. We love to see how Arsenal would react if we could somehow get the next goal.
-
Think we maybe should have started elyounessi over Armstrong. So hopefully the change will help.
-
Curious why Lyanco was dropped?
-
Teams will sometimes beat the press. The issue is how other players react. Unfortunately Bednarek thought doing nothing was the right action.
-
Glad i bet on Arsenal. Completely predictable result. Let's just hope it doesn't end up another 9-0.
-
He made no effort to cover.
-
What was bednarek doing there. Giving Saka all the time in the world. Just ended up standing in no man's land doing nothing.
-
Unless there’s a corresponding drop off in harm, the spike in transmissibility will surely lead to more hospitalizations. Given nhs doctors have been pretty clear they are already struggling due to combination of winter/Covid/backlog that requires. Really this action should have come sooner.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Boris at some point is going to play the part of the sacrificial lamb to pretend this level of corrupt arrogance can be fixed by simple shifting of chairs. -
That last minute goal last night just made me think we’re going to be on the end of a reaction from Arsenal. Hope i’m wrong and we can keep their poor form going.

Call the position whatever you want. He's there on matchday as a cheap extra redundancy like on Saturday. You don't have to drag the young prospect away from the B team to most likely not even warm the bench. He's not there because we think never playing and sitting on a bench will develop him as a footballer. To quote Stuart Taylor on his time at saints, "nobody promised me anything. I know my role."
