Saints 3-1 West Ham - Match Thread

No issue for me seeing if we see Perraud rotated in or Redmond for Mo. I hope we keep the same 2 up top even if Broja hasn't been as good the last couple of games. -
Enjoyed seeing Spurs going out. Middlesborough look a decent unit under Wilder.

Saints 3-1 West Ham - Match Thread

Hopefully it's just 2 or 3 three rotated out. -
I’d hope Nato would react differently if it was a nato country. A lot would depend on US willingness I suspect.
-
Initially I thought the talk of invasion was just posturing but Putin seems to gambled that US/nato won’t have the bottle to defend Ukraine, given he wasn’t getting what he wanted via negotiation.

The 5-4 game is my strongest memory of us vs Norwich. As a kid the yo-yo of despair, elation, more despair and absolute elation.
-
Sometimes Leeds are just too open. At 2-2 a bit of pragmatic sit and counter attack play was surely needed.
-
haha Cry baby fernandes. Doesn't like to be tackled fairly.
-
To be fair to Norwich they’ve been performing better under smith of late. Hopefully saints can maintain the same attitude as recent games and secure the win.

Think that is a very harsh handball. The ball hits his hand in front of his face.
-
Thought he was very jeckyll and hyde. First half anonymous, second half very good.
-
I also enjoyed Coleman complaining to the ref about our usual 70 minute stoppage Their assistant at the same time pulling Gomes to the side ( and at least in my head giving him instructions to stop being useless) Broja's face after Long scored.
-
Everton barring 5 minutes either side of ht were complete garbage. Saints excellent again. Any Chance everton will do a Leicester(Bertrand) and sign Shane Long?
-
I want the striker passing to elyounessi who has a chance for a tap in that situation. Most of the time i don't mind his selfishness but there Broja was never going to score in a million years.
-
Would have liked to have seen a few more replays of the Calvert Lewin studs challenge (similar to how many of Stu armstrong challenge we saw). It may have been similar in lacking forward force but check seemed rather cursory.
-
Very frustrating half. Everton had the first 5 minutes but after that Saints on top just bad decision making / not taking chances. Hope it doesn't come back to bite us. Broja dangerous but mixture of too ball greedy and wanting too many tocuhes today. Elyounessi has been very quiet. I'd take him off personally.
-
Really hope we can push on and win this game. The usual fear is after the burst of national publicity we'll deflate and lose to a poor everton.
-
Seems to me lots of political gaming going on from both sides. Seemed to me invasion was always unlikely but equally the fact there was macho posturing from both sides elevates the risk. I don’t like Putin but I can see why russia would have political concerns over nato as well as the Ukrainian situation. Hopefully the saner minds in Europe can prevail and navigate a politically acceptable way out of this tit for tat escalation.

Curious as to why this game hasn't been re-arranged yet? See a bunch of other re-arranged games are being played on Wed 23rd

Rangnick "We have to understand where we are. [Southampton] won 2-3 at Tottenham, and they expected to win easily. We got a point today; we expected three and needed three, but that is the situation. That is why there was a change of manager and why we are here." Lol, I'm guessing he meant Spurs but sounds like he's suggesting Saints expected 3 against United.
-
Ralph also pointing out he's not good off his line.
-
Cant see any issue with the ref from a saints perspective. Easily could have given a few saints players bookings later on but we came out without a single one so hard to complain about not giving Man U even more.
-
No i'd move on from him. Giving him a new long term contract would be a mistake. He's going an ok job for now. We're doing our best to play to his strengths and limit exposure of his weaknesses. I'd be happy to replace with Johnstone on a free in the summer as a replacement(who's younger and a stronger allrounder) let alone whoever else we may have scouted.
-
Think Stephens should play every time we play united. He's mouthy and given they are delicate daisies he's perfect for such games. Great to get a point. Fully deserved. Slight disappointment not to get the 3. Second half we were the better team. Shame armstrong and Broja finishes were lacking. Ralph got his subs perfect today.

Anyone got a decent alternate stream. Hesgoal seemed to be dying
