It's hard not to get a bit worried about further transfers. That said the Hoijberg (spelling?) came from nowhere and we signed him the day after the first rumour coming directly from his agent. We all we know how discreetly we do our business and we haven't even reached August yet. Still plenty of time. I also think the recent flux of contract extensions would indicate the players are happy with the seasons plan.

Correction on the word 'finally'. I mean that from Koeman's latest comments about showing ambition presumably by keeping key players, wage increases and transfer funds, that the contract extensions would indicate that. I think the board have worked very well with Koeman but I can understand his willingness to keep key players and sign additions rather than a large portion of the budget spent on replacements.

I would definitely try to keep Pelle. Can we please break the bank and sign Sigurdson. Assert our authority a little bit.

If the board play their cards right then this could be the year we pinch a UCL spot. The big clubs will yet again be in transition with the re-building of squads and new managers save for Spurs and Liverpool and Leicester (who personally I don't believe will replicate this season). Anyway, for me the players we need to mount this challenge is a true number 10, a natural winger and maybe a CB or RB. I'm resigned that it may be tough to keep Wanyama but no one else should be leaving. The fact that 3 players have signed significant extensions to their contracts is for me an indication that the board may finally be backing Koeman.

The Hull RB looks a good little player.

Well Jesus Christ that was appalling from Utd. Woeful defending, crap midfield and the only positive is that it isn't 2 or 3 nil. That was infuriating.

Beginning with West Ham -v- Man Utd. Hard one to call after West Ham's shambolic result. They still had a lot of attempts against Swansea but defended poorly. Utd are a hard one to predict but have already won at the Boyeln in the FA cup. It's a huge game for them to get 4th over City. My prediction is a tight 2-1 win to Utd. Tomorrow night Liverpool -v- Chelsea. Chelsea had been quite good but have had a couple of bad results of late. Liverpool will have one eye on the Europa final but will want to win this game and no doubt play their strongest team. Another hard one to call but I'm going for a 1-1 draw. Thoughts chaps?

To be fair this year we've done very well against the top sides but not taken points against the weaker ones unlike last year. We are so damn close to really challenging for the top 4. Just 2-3 players in the window - number 10, direct running winner and possibly a replacement for Wanyama. To answer the original thread question. A simple yes.

I like Davis, he is a good player. But. This is a position we could improve in. Sigurdsson, he has 11 goals and 3 assists to Davis' 2 goals and 3 assists. Those extra goals could be an additional 4-6 points. I would love to see Saints assert themselves as the next best team after the big clubs (which we are 110%). We are so close to challenging the top 4 and only need 2-3 players (if we can keep Wanyama and Mane). Next season needs to be the season we go for it!!
