  1. Heartbreaking way to lose the game having been the best side throughout. Have to be incredibly proud of the performance from the team. Fans were fantastic, really generated a great atmosphere. This is a new era of Southampton FC. We have been in the quarters the last two years and now reached a final. I think we will have some more similar outings in the years to come. Great time to be Saints fan. What a gem we have found in Gabbiadini. The lad is a joy to watch off the ball with his clever movement.
  2. Reckon it will be the same team. Would personally drop Forster. Fancy us taking out our anger/frustration on Watford. 2-0 win for me Gabbiadini and Redmond.
  3. Fantastic performance. Gabbiadini looks some player - his intelligent movement is what we've been screaming for! Tadic was sensational. Played a much more free role and linked lots of attacking play.
  4. This. Whilst we have made a monumentous f*ck up with signing a CB we have enough in the side to get 12 points from 15 games. There are 5 teams between us and the bottom 3 who are very poor sides. I'm more disappointed in the clear lack of ambition by Reed and co. Actually feel sorry for a Puel. Like others have suggested I would try Bertrand at CB as Stephens does not convince me at this level.
  5. Wow! I have never lost it as much as when Long scored. History tonight. Fancy us in the final too.
  6. Never had such little interest in Saints which I blame to a dullard of a manager.
  7. On the break with minus one man. Of course it had a huge impact. We were up against a well organised Spurs team but to have 10 men in any football game due to a shocking decision is going go significantly against your favour.
  8. JWP had a poor game. Redmond looked ok for me up to a travesty of a decision. Think people are getting unfairly on his back. Up to the red card from their equaliser the front 3 struggled because we decided to stop pressing and defend so deep which played into their hands.
  9. Let's be honest that was an almighty c*ck up and not the first time (Arsenal away). That was a worse decision than the Arsenal one. Other people's opinions?
  10. Finally. It was a hideous and awful decision which ended the game immediately.
  11. I accept that he has not been up to his expected standards this year. But today the first goal took a wicked deflection from the cross. The other 3 would have been world class saves. And the jeering for his kicking is embarrassing from our fans who barely sang a word all game.
  12. Shall we sack him and bring back the mighty Pardew. Jesus wept the utter thicko's on here.
  13. They were all good finishes. This forum just needs a scapegoat and this season Forster is the man.
  14. You lot are boring.
  15. Jesus.
  16. He's made two poor kicks this game. No other mistake I can note.
  17. Joke. Ours players do not know what a professional foul is.
  18. What a tackle from Fonte and the pro-Spurs commentator thinking it's reckless LOL
  19. Referee has killed the game with an awful decision.
  20. So pleased for Jay. Great character to keep his chin up. That was Rodriguez of 2013-14, he's proved he has his strength, fitness and positional play to have a decent season. That was the ultimate away performance. Bossed them and made them look completely ordinary.
  21. Oh please do.
  22. Same team that started against Everton but maybe Sims on the bench for Boufal purely to not rush the young man. The next two league games are very winnable and can really kick start our league campaign chase for 6th. 3-1 win for me as Palace are looking like relegation fodder currently. Austin, JWP and Redmond with the goals. Benteke for them with a consolation.

    Puel

Got to give huge credit to Puel. Firstly the way he has utilised the squad in such a packed season of games has been brilliant. Secondly when it all ticks we are an very attractive team to watch. I feel we lost that slightly under Koeman. Thirdly our identity of bringing young players through is well and truly back which must send confidence to all involved at younger levels at Saints. McQueen, Reed and now Sims look more than comfortable at this level. Fourthly the improvement in VVD, JWP, Cedric and Austin (to name a few) under him. Finally we are one win away from being in the knock out stages of Europa and in our first semi final in 13 years. What the guy may lack in an interview he sure makes up for in everything else. No that Pochettino was/is any better in an interview. Have we got a song yet for him?
