Brilliant cameo. Best we've seen from him since his injury. To let him go would be ridiculous. Needs to start next game.

Crap result and should have won. Austin was all out of sorts. Looked better when Redmond wasn't playing as a striker. My worry with this diamond is the danger it causes when we give the ball away. We look vulnerable. Not a fan of this diamond. Biggest positive was how good Rodriguez looked when he came on. Would be a joke if he is loaned.

They have their own record of not winning a game in August for 5-6 seasons. I see Mannone is likely to be out. That said he did let in 8 goals in that smashing two seasons ago. They also play Shrewsbury tonight.

Wow Sunderland look woeful. Ramirez playing very well. Typical.

Big game this. Hopefully Bertrand will be back otherwise same team for me. 2-1 Saints.

Man Utd v Saints Post Match Hmmmmm.....

We badly miss Bertrand. He has much more intelligence than Targett to link play down the flank. And he advances more with better delivery. -
Played very well. Kept the rhythm of our possession at a good rate.

There's potential there if we can add some spice to the final third. Didn't think much of Utd. Aside from there two goals it was relatively even. -
This summer is becoming somewhat depressing. No transfer in rumours and lots of transfer out rumours. I trust the club and we still have 16 days of the window left but as fans we need something to get excited about. Desperately short of attacking flair and if Fonte leaves we need a CB signing who can get going right away. What was the last incoming transfer rumour?

He played well after the first 30 minutes. Looked out most likely player to score. Personally was impressed so you can put me on ignore mate.

Presumably the MNF brigade will cover the Friday night Utd game. Now that Neville is returning will be interesting to see his opinion. -
Very impressive scoring record. Shame European mega giants Everton are linked too.

Very interesting post. That is one concern how this system will set up against the likes of City away for example. Another striker is a definite for me too. -
It's hard not to get a bit worried about further transfers. That said the Hoijberg (spelling?) came from nowhere and we signed him the day after the first rumour coming directly from his agent. We all we know how discreetly we do our business and we haven't even reached August yet. Still plenty of time. I also think the recent flux of contract extensions would indicate the players are happy with the seasons plan.

Please mods. Loyal Saints legend and a euro winning defender who would walk into any defence in the BPL. Saints legend.

Got a mate out there who says the rioting and violence has been non-stop. Russian fans before and after the game just attacking anyone in sight. F*cking animals.

I would go for Eddie Howe personally.
-
Zaza (striker) from Juventus being strongly linked as a Pelle replacement.
-
Correction on the word 'finally'. I mean that from Koeman's latest comments about showing ambition presumably by keeping key players, wage increases and transfer funds, that the contract extensions would indicate that. I think the board have worked very well with Koeman but I can understand his willingness to keep key players and sign additions rather than a large portion of the budget spent on replacements.
-
I would definitely try to keep Pelle. Can we please break the bank and sign Sigurdson. Assert our authority a little bit.

If the board play their cards right then this could be the year we pinch a UCL spot. The big clubs will yet again be in transition with the re-building of squads and new managers save for Spurs and Liverpool and Leicester (who personally I don't believe will replicate this season). Anyway, for me the players we need to mount this challenge is a true number 10, a natural winger and maybe a CB or RB. I'm resigned that it may be tough to keep Wanyama but no one else should be leaving. The fact that 3 players have signed significant extensions to their contracts is for me an indication that the board may finally be backing Koeman.

The Hull RB looks a good little player.
