Will we ever say “shame about his Portsmouth connection” when talking about the likes of Channon, Stokes, Golac? It’s ridiculous - rivalry pales into significance.

There are certain players Saints just cannot play against, regardless of who’s in the team. Andy Carroll is one of them. Lukaku is another. Previously it was Dion Dublin and Tomas Radzinski. I just don’t get it. It’s utterly predictable. Carroll changed the game when he came on and we all knew he would.

I get no enjoyment watching this team. Even when we’ve got the lead, I know they will bottle it.

It’s a massive shame. I always look back at that amazing team we had under Poch. Incredible, fearless young talent who were the envy of the Premier League. All that effort is gone, wasted. We’re capitulating in the worst way possible. Even Billy Sharp is thriving. It’s a bad time to dr a Saints fan right now but I do believe we can thrive again if the decks are wiped.
