Just back from the game. Was gutted but traffic has given me some perspective. It comes down to bad subs. Adkins first real mistake, but he will learn. Lambert was tired so I understand that change. I also feel that fresh legs were required but the introduction of Guly was bad. Did nothing and all confidence was gone. We lost all our attacking threat. And y was jayrod not played as centre forward with the new guy out on the left where he has played before. Very strange that we would play the pacey short dude as a target man over our stand in number 9 for Lambert. we ran out of ideas with this 3 off the pitch like the 3kick that we just rushed at the end. I think the big issue was the bench. No one to really sure up the back or midfield with. That will not be the issue when yoshi can play and cork is fit. It was a gutting defeat to be sure, and we can't afford many more of these slips. However, a lot of positives in that we had them on the ropes and played some cracking stuff. Again mistakes (Clyne this time) have cost us and this needs to be addressed. Also the people who slam Adkins' need to bare in mind that we outplayed united for 80min. Promising signs from punch, Adam, Lambert, Davis, Morgan and jwp who were all superb. I do not understand y fox plays so tight to the cb which allows the winger to overlap him and get in behind. He always does it so I'm assuming that NA wants him to play that way. Very narrow. Maybe to counter the goals scored by Sandro and tevez? I think we will be okay still, but we are making it hard for ourselves! We shall improve though and we are having a steep learning curve which will only benefit us after the arsenal game.

Right, so u needed proof of that. Lol!!!

They also sold Dempsey for £6m - spurs have one of the deals of the season there.

Le tissier and Keegan instantly spring to mind. And Gaston Ramirez didn't snub tottenham's contract offer at any point. Carry on...

Makes your fullbacks look ****e?

I would say that if you include Adam you have 9 players to fight for 4 spaces between them. CAM, RW,LW,CF. obviously they can't all play in each position I.e puncheon as Rickie cf, but on the whole I think this gives us good depth. -
Are u for real or was that a wind up? I get that this thread will attract a certain mindset of fans but I can't believe u think 1.8m for a future England RB is bad business? Do u really think that...??? Davis also looked good against Wigan and city, cots us 800k has experience and is exactly the type of experienced player u call for. Also Owen? We lack pace as it is without a crippled 30+ year old. I agree we need more class and I think we lack depth but I can't say that are transfer business has been abysmal. Especially once Gaston signs. That is my 2 sense. I hope nu were on a wind up. If not then don't panic!

Let's not jump the gun. Deals can still fall through. Agree that this looks over likely now but I doubt we'll see him against united. My only concern is whether he will adapt to the prem quickly, however only time will tell on that front. Always new he would sign, in NC we trust and some people will have some serious egg on their faces

I think most will agree that Turkish's comments can be ignored and taken as rude do to the disrespectful levels of sarcasm used. It would be hard to sell out the game in the first instance when large blocks of each stand were unavailable to sell. Huge chunks of Itchen Were barren. Same again in kingsland. Add to that the poor Wigan attendance, the late returns of their tickets and it being the last bank holiday of school holiday and I am not surprised tbh. Considering that the home capacity is roughly 29600 seats the attendance was not bad. And there were more empty seat blocks listed for sale than Wigan fans. Only a mong would base our future attendance on that match with the apparent rudeness of the usual few on here. This is not aime at all of the negative posters because most of you put well worded polite arguments acros,.
-
Turkish you should find another club to support. Saints dare to dream whereas you delight and under achievement it seems. Saints were poor but only a fool would gauge are season over these first 4 seasons and with the right signing you may end up with egg all over your face. This thread may well be another of you premature ejaculations coming to he fore. The only point I will agree with you on is the attendance today which was disappointing. However the empty seats were almost entirely the Wigan rejectd and a few in itchen Wing. Its also the bank holiday weekend. Why don't you try some positivity to a change.

I wasn't even on here then and I would have bet substantial money on alpine. G if I ever met him I am picturing the robot fro hitchhikers guide to the galaxy tbh. Have never come across a more miserable person.

Can people stop saying his deal is off ffs. It was supposed to be off 3 days ago... and yet here we all at reading comments relating to the player from numerous sources. if its off, why are the clubs/agent still releasing comments. It cab ONLY be posturing. There for this story still has legs and is crawl in along. Will it learn to walk though. Personally I think we are interested, we can afford it, and if push comes to shove we will step up. However NC is playing hard ball and defending saints' interests. Also, I'm assuming a lot have you have never been to Italy. If they manage to sought the loan out this week then it will have been done quickly. Laziest country in Europe.

True. By I think it will happen this week. Also look at QPR. No issues signing CB's for them. We do need to address this and I'm sure we are. Hipiwever the targets are running out. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19334852

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4493024/Premier-League-Terry-Venables-club-by-club-guide.html Terry has smacked us down as shoe ins for 20th this tear. With reading coming 12th. What a joke and to think he was one of the better England managers in my living memory. He always hated le ties I guess. Think we should give him and mark (he'll not be joining Southampton) Lawrenson some stick in a couple of weeks. anyway I though this might give people something to read whilst we wait for Ramirez to sign. Sunderland have also bid £11m for Adam Johnson to put our £13m into perspective.

Objectively speaking, if NC does put his foot down on his as well as the further deal it will give clubs the message that we won't be dicked around. Presenting a take our fair offer or leave it stance with backup history. Ultimatley this will benefit the club. I voted yes BTW. We are clearly still the favourites and I think he will leave for someone having already sold his house.

What an irrelevant comment. The player wants in but we can afford him as an upfront fee without doing a Pompey. Use your brain.

We gave them (or could not maintain) possession. At one point they were over 80%. When we attacked they couldn't get the ball that is what I noticed. Their fans on blue moon agree and thought we were deadly going forward. I also think the dfnse coped well considering the time and possession given to world class attackers. And in fairness I think the team were slightly awestruck at times, gave them a little to much respect and got pushed to deep. From their it was like watching chelsea bareclona. Fair play to the lads however because the were able to rally and push on, get out of their box and attack well. Also the last 10min city couldn't get the ball. we also were not given a penalty, their goal was offside. And tevez frankly new what jos would do, looked for his leg and did a theatrical dive love it. I also feel sorry for fox. Thought did well and was left exposed at times. Considering he chasing he was doing it was no wonder he got knackered and run ragged by city for their 3rd goal. also how good I'd Lambert look when he came on. Changed the game and looked class. No worries about him this season. As I have said all along 10-15th with ease. Just as I said automatic last season. Trust the team, trust NA, trust NC and imagine what it will be like with the armoured future signings. Also to the negative mongs on here (mostly in hiding after yesterday) cut it out and support he saints. U only exist on here and are an embarrassing minority.

I.e turkish , kracken etc. However fair play to hypo, he has come out and praised the team and guly...

10-13th for me. Deal with I

A quote from this has made my day and should cheer some of the negative amongst us up - "Jesus christ. Why have a pop at Stoke because of this? There are any number of variables that will determine whether or not he's a success in the premiership yet. He could well turn out to be a class player but he could well turn out to be an expensive flop. He hasn't even kicked a ball yet. 'makes our efforts at transfers in our promotion season (which we are only just recovering from) look very small time' Is that really what you think? We got hold of Beattie, Etherington, Sorensen, Abdoulaye Faye all of which were/are quality players that have all contributed not only to the success of keeping us up that year but the subsequent successes we've had since. I hardly think you can call them small time. Fair enough Tonge, Soares etc. didn't live up to expectations but quite how you can judge our transfer activity as small time because a handful of players didnt work out for us seems largely unfair. And are we only just recovering? We've made giant strides at improving the infrastructure of the club, largely because we've been able to maintain our status in the league and in my opinion, no season was more integral to this than the first season. And another point while I'm at it, we were underdogs. We were extreme underdogs. Southampton on the other hand are coming back into the league with a bigger fanbase than us, a bigger stadium, a bigger club reputation, a respected academy, a better promoted squad than we had. It will be easier for them to get players in than it was for us and it beggars belief if you can't see that. And really who cares? Good luck to the guy and good luck to Southampton. I hope he does live up to his price tag, as long as its not against us. I swear sometimes people are just looking for an excuse to moan about something."

That match was on bbc , not sky, and was obviously not in the prem? Or is hat a city player they have superimposed in the background
