You are of course aware that 24 teams have a chance for promotion and 20 teams are in the premier league and must have got there somehow!! ~_~ In comparison, how many teams actually play in all rounds of the FA Cup? 200+ I would guess but can't be arsed to work it out. For me this is obviously a big game! But lets be honest. All of the games we spent battling against relegation were bigger, as were both the FA cup finals. In this league, you win and you gain some money and play less games for more pounds per seat (I want us back there but lets be real). In the premier, all those games under the pressure of falling out of it (look what happens when you fall). Its a case of something to gain, or everything to loose.... which is the bigger game? Also, as stated above, clearly 100,000 fans turning up to beat the beast at Wembley for a lower league club is by far the bigger game, another option that not many have discussed are games in the 83/84 season when we were so close to toppling liverpool and actually winning what is now regarded as THE TROPHY in england. A final point, since we should have won this league/been promoted weeks ago with chances lost against reading, skate **** holes and blackpool (to name the most recent) and the point that it would take a miracle for us to balls this up (yes I know we are saints and that doesn't apply). But since we really should go up all barring a major catasrophe, this is not a big game. We are 2 points clear, better goal difference and are playing a relegated team with a bunch of youngsters and their one trully good player is out injured.... COMON! we are going up, easy. Now stop fussing, this is an anti-climax, we should be winning the league this weekend. Not settling for second best, and you can be damn sure the players both know it, and will regret it for a few years, once they get over promotion!

It seems that Coventry would like us to chant "SISU OUT" with them. In exchange, their fans are happy for us to be given 3 points? Fair trade, especially since they so nearly brought and ruined us!

This!

Win at Boro, take it easy against coventry and pay those filthy skate tuesdays back for the West Brom game all those years ago. Simples

Anyone else just hear merrington's laugh? "I'd just like to see saints get that 3rd goal... hehehehehehehehehehe" Classic, and a first for me! Never heard the man laugh before!
-
Only 5...Well, for starters... Lambert, Lallana, Cork, Fonte, Morgan, Jos, If you would write off Sharpedo I would be surprised to be honest. Look at the strikers we have had in the premier in the past. I aslo think that Kelvin is worth a shot and lets face it, fox has been there and done it before. So has chappers. I dislike saints fans who slag off our players or do not give them the credit they deserve. I said at the end of last season that we'd get promoted this year and could win the league. Never had a doubt. And next season we will at the very least match Norwich - there is some serious dross in the premier, has been that way for a few seasons. Hence why the likes of blackpool, swansea and Norwich were able to go up in the first place - put simply what came down was a pile of ****. Now stop being negative and embrace that we have a good team, unproven yes, but good anyway. One final comment. De Ridder is clearly good enough for the premier, look at his skill and pace, and his crossing is generally good when he is allowed to play as an actual winger, rather than someone who has to cut inside or pull the ball back for a deep cross to the far post. This saints team will do well in the Premier, You mark my words. They just have to find the strength after this long hard season to get us there!

Should Brighton be investigated for Saturdays game ?

Watch highlihgts, and watch own goal, that is a 1/100 attempt, if he can do that he'd be going to barca. -
Guys we will go up! This is all the blame of the douche bags who said the old saints are gone for good! Well guess again you ****ers! We are Southampton, and we will never ever do anything the easy way! Just need to make a final push. We will beat both the boro's and we will draw or beat coventry! Simples! Now stop panicking. We have been unlucky/fonte shot in foot (SIT) in the last 2 defeats. He can't continue being a douche bag because he will get dropped and replaced by the Eastleigh legend that is Martin! De ridder will start at right mid, and we will tear teams a new one. Going forward against reading we looked terrific. We just need to do that to everyteam we face! And the simple fact is, 6-0 or not, WHAM will not win every god damn game. FACT! so relax, enjy the exciting end to the season, and don't forget that we now have to win all those games, which we will, and if reading slip up, the title is ours! GAME ON MOTHER ****ERS!!!!

Right, so I get sky sports, fully accepting that we don't win on TV. The feel quietly confident that this was the night for us and that we would win. (naivety 101) Saints proceed to play well. But ultimately **** it up. (Am i the only one who thinks Fonte should be shot? - 1st and last goal he was to blame. Fox equally for the first. He also didn't close down the first Portsmouth goal on the weekend.) Oh well I thinks, Onwards and upwards. hen I discover that the boro game is also on Sky TV now.... Facepalm, another loss for saints? 3rd place, then TV Playoff games - which we will loose? Pessimistic I know, I mean we only need 2 wins, and that is if WHAM can win evey game. But, despite this, I am slightly worried. Having watched the last few games, Fonte needs to step up. Poor Guly looked shot of confidence. A far cry from the man who started the season, although what he was supposed to do in centre mid I will never know. Gutted we lost, but fingers crossed we will win at Peterborough and Middlesbrough and still sneak the title. As for reading, I'm glad they will at least go up and Hope we can finish off WHAM's hopes!
-
We are going to win this one! I can feel it in my Gut. Plus I have just upgraded to sky sports for a month. and as much as I love the playoffs I don't want to be watching us in them!! COYR's

Its on tv - at least a 67% chance of reading wn. Simples. The old saints are here to stay lads. And everytime you think they've buggered off they come back to bite you in the arse. Blackpool would be point in case.

Saints / Reading / West Ham run in: Games to go . . .
Saint86 replied to .comsaint's topic in The Saints
I lietrally think yoou have no clue, we can loose to reading and still go up. It is over, just first or second now. -
Really, 4-1, 4-1...... damn close! Don't know why I was so embarrased now!
-
Or, his kid died, and he's just moved the other end of the Country. I know you are not knocking him, but others on here need to give the guy a break. The simple fact is, we tried to play long ball to someone who is what? 5'7''? never going to work was it. The midfield was gash, and as a result we never generated much up front. that is the issue. Not this poor blokes ability. Because **** me, if he can do it for the second worst team in the league, he can damn well do it for the best?
-
So.... four times then......................................................................................... yawn, maybe we should make you manager instead of Atkins?
-
This is it lads, all that talk about the old saints being gone and dusted. well surprise surprise, here they are, rearing their butt ugly faces. **** on TV and detirmined to not win the league because when do we ever come first when it really matters. Always the hard way. If i had gone to this game I would want my money back, and I would have left at 3-0. This is a disgrace and its a long way from blackpool to home. If the fans make the feffort, and I commend them for still singing away, then the players should make it as well.! At least barnard will get a run out, he at least tries. Feel sorry for Gully, he has at least done somehting useful this half and won us the penalty. Just wish he had taken. great now the blackpool fans are jeering us. At least its not as bad as when we sang "premier league, you're having a laugh" at st marys!! But still. Why is this ref such a TUESDAY!
-
Dear Saints, For once in your lives would you please be champions. I feel that is the least I deserve for my 20 years of loyal service. While you are at it, can you please stop playing like typical saints and learn to play on the TV... Whilst we are at it, stop the long ball to sharpedo... it does not work. and never ever let him take a penalty again, ever!! Finally, please win this game and if you are going to loose then please one of you volley the ball at the ref's balls.
-
Comments - why the **** are we playing long ball to sharpedo.... he is what 5' 8''? the ref is bleeding idiot, several fouls by blackpool that are not given and the penalty should never have been given. I hope nigel rips into him after the game to be honest. Finnaly, butterfield is playing like a peice of ****, keeps playing them onside, guly is always offlside. the diamond is a total fail, flood nthe centre of the park with flat 442 aagainst dobby and we would dominate. Literally fuming that we are letting this shower beat us. If we loose this playing like this we will get second.
-
This is off topic, but we all know it will happen... When they go, and they will definitely go! I think Southampton requires street parties, perhaps on the same day we parade the trophy (Complete with burning skate scarves hanging of the back of the bus!) At this street party, there must be natonal news, bon fires. Pompy dressed Guy Fawkes etc. Streets singing there is only one team in hampshire and everyone, singing, arm in arm, when the saints go marching in!!!" then edit and put on youtube.

West Ham Pure Class (won the world cup in 66 etc)
Saint86 replied to Amazing Hangover's topic in The Saints
Why the hell are you posting to a thread on an opposition forum that relates to their feelings about another club entirely..... pointless waste of everyone's time and promoting the opposition site.... It could have least been to a thread where we are trolling them... but this is 1 sentence about us in an entire thread about reading.... wtf -
I was about to highlight Swansea to counter your argument, then I realised that they have dyer. I then thought of the players we have sold, Walcott, bale, Oxlade… who is the next pacey winger in the youth team? Anyone know? Or are we going for Adam and Jason down the flanks next year? Personally, I want to see us playing like Bilbao I suppose we do have de rids, and I reckon he will be a better player in the prem, you only have to look at what he did to the West Brom defenders in the pre season, fall over much ;,…,;
-
He is a proven goal scorer at this level, for a strugiling team like Donny. What do you think would happen if Lambo goes down? And our backup is just Barnard and connoly. I doubt we would get auto's to be honest. Not after seeing us lambertless during the "blip". He also gives another way to play should we need it, and Adkins and knows him, he hasn't made a bad purchase yet. I'm studdned people are asking this question considering the fuss about "we must buy a new striker" bla bla bla. You should ask about falque who doesnt even make the bench tbh. Trust Adkins and support the saints! Stop getting on the backs of players who look useful when they get game time and whoose newborn kid has died and he has moved the length of the country...
