  1. I get the feeling that their recruitment is a bit random and that they don't get the best out of their players. There are plenty of players in their squad who've won promotion from Div 2 or performed well in Div 1 who, as soon as they pull on a Pompey shirt, turn out to be not very good. If they do manage to get relegated this season it will be a hell of an achievement given the squad they've got and the wages they must be paying.
  2. Well, that was plucky. I don't think Tubbs had a shot all game.
  3. There'll be plenty of room, why they could throw in an underwater casino to boot. With facilities like that they'd be able to attract top talent, how long can it be before the rumors are confirmed and Maradona joins them as Manager?
  4. I was out of contract at Millwall over the summer anyway and every year there are more and more free agents available. "So it's nice to not have that uncertainty hanging over me. I can relax and concentrate on giving everything for Pompey." Or, in other words... thank, ****, what a bunch of mugs, I was going to have to hang up my boots.
  5. I think we got way over the odds when selling players over the summer, and using those valuations as a yardstick is unrealistic. 20-25 million sounds about right.
  6. Please tell me he's ****
  7. Struggling financially? I thought they were fan-owned, like Pompey.
  8. From the fanfunder's report of the Wimbeldon game on the Portsmouth FC official site: "When the final whistle was blown, the stadium was filled with a chorus of deafening boos, from the Pompey fans, followed by the chant of ‘that was embarrassing’." 9. Chambers has "hit the wall" according to Wenger, and can't bare the weight of responsibility.

  12. They're not really convincing me yet that this community club model is going to serve as the bestest blueprint for the future of world football. Struggled to draw with Cheltenham lol... HTFILN
  13. Wow - two fences!
  14. Their really breaking new ground in general incompetence here. Why don't they just go the whole hog and re-brand to The King Street Tavern five-a-side Sunday League kick about team?
  15. http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/article/andy-awford-delighted-with-portsmouth-training-ground-2152486.aspx Still not finished then, and for some strange reason there are no pictures of the Portacabin, fence and cones. Has anyone actually seen this marvellous new facility?
  16. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30479986 "Gary Waddock says he has arrived at Portsmouth to assist manager Andy Awford - not replace him." Yeah, right...

  18. "It is understood a Fratton Park meeting had originally been scheduled for today – with chairman Iain McInnes and chief executive Mark Catlin to sit down with Awford, McLoughlin and Paul Hardyman to discuss a shake-up. With the need to make room for a new coach, McLoughlin and Hardyman were under scrutiny, while the offer of an alternative role was to be discussed. However, such plans were scuppered when Awford instead delivered the bombshell to McLoughlin on Thursday – and the Pompey hierarchy never got the chance to meet him. McLoughlin added: ‘My future now is trying to sort this mess out. ‘You can’t negotiate if there isn’t a role to take. I decided in the end I was not prepared to hang around for months waiting for somebody to lose their job for me to take their role. ‘But I wish this great club every success.’" http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/macca-pays-pompey-tribute-1-6460974
  19. Interestingly, he would appear to have been sacked by the board, not the manager http://Http://m.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/crawford-macca-harshly-treated-1-6459721
  20. It's all a bit Comical Ali seeing as his sacking is all over the Snooze
  21. http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/article/portsmouth-football-club-statement-2125408.aspx? Portsmouth Football Club have noted the recent speculation regarding the backroom staff at the club. At this stage, it would be totally inappropriate to comment on the future of any individual employed by the club. The board have been in discussions with Andy Awford for several weeks about the restructuring of his backroom team. These discussions are ongoing and once they have been concluded, the club will make a further statement. 22. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/the-cruel-handling-of-a-pompey-hero-1-6457802 [h=1]The cruel handling of a Pompey hero[/h] Alan McLoughlin voiced his opinion on why Jed Wallace is presently more effective on the right-hand side of midfield. He revealed his frustration at the wretched away form – and pinpointed a potential solution. The room listened, around 300 supporters drinking every delicious word. Barely 60 hours later and the man affectionately known as Macca had left Pompey. Monday was a night dripping in nostalgia as fans packed the Victory Lounge to be privy to the Blues legend’s Q&A event. McLoughlin also sold 131 copies of his new autobiography – A Different Shade of Green – patiently signing every single book thrust onto the table he was sat beside. Must have taken a lot of patience to sign his name 131 times... "Drinking in every delicious word" is vintage retch-making Allen
  23. Turns out, the reason they lost was they didn't know the match had started: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/slow-start-sets-the-tone-1-6448013
