  1. Because they're a bunch of amateurs. That's the point, they're incompetent and proud. What single useful thing have the Trust actually done apart from designing that nice fence?
  2. “I love playing at Portsmouth, although last season, I didn’t get off the bench, so I was really gutted. But the atmosphere was incredible that day. “It’s a privilege to even be there, let alone play in the game. All the lads always look forward to it, so it should be good.” Read more: http://www.westernmorningnews.co.uk/Portsmouth-trip-whets-appetite-Exeter-City-s/story-26017788-detail/story.html?#ixzz3Rc6Bb3Th
  3. "It is noticeable at Trust meetings the average age is probably 40-plus..." http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-trust-seek-youthful-approach-to-fan-representation-1-6574804 It's like church congregations - soon they'll be nothing more than a huddle of tired pensioners with some confused memories.
  4. Big Vic
  5. Classic lol
  6. There's nothing wrong with correcting people when they're wrong. MLG took the correction in good spirit, so should others.
  7. http://www.squawka.com/news/scouting-report-southampton-target-filip-djuricic/289929 Contains some interesting stats if anyone's interested

  9. More sick-making Allenesque drivel: "Divisions continue to grow between the factions. It’s close to becoming a Pompey-style civil war – and we’ve got history for a rumble down these parts." http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/comment-awford-decision-won-t-satisfy-all-1-6545878
  10. Doesn't look like a like for like Cork replacement to me
  11. This whole Waddock replacement thing comes as such a shock: Gary Waddock not Andy Awford's replacement at Portsmouth
  12. Errr... you do realize they work for a local newspaper? http://www.buzzfeed.com/lukelewis/45-earth-shattering-local-news-headlines#.pmmkoLoW7
  13. The Deloitte rich list has us as the 25th richest football club in the universe. How I do wish we weren't, and that our players were paid in pizza for fixing up the changing rooms. When my son was watching us beat Man U the other day, the first thing he said was, "why can't we be more like Pompey daddy, and lose to Newport?"
  14. Or a really, really big sponge
  15. "The training pitches are pretty good to be fair, when they are playable they are in a good condition."
  16. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/hinshelwood-to-depart-pompey-1-6529974 "Martin is leaving to take up a scouting/recruitment role with a Premier League club." Please God, not Saints.
  17. Or the fact that they still haven't got their safety certificate despite rennovating the affected areas of the ground.
  18. OK - who can read between the lines... Agent Connolly on leaving Pompey: "It was not meant to be and I have now joined someone who wants to work with me. But there are a lot of really good people at Pompey, such as the chairman, the chief executive, the players and the board, while Gary Waddock is a terrific coach I previously worked with at Oxford."
  19. Are we sure that's not Allen on the bus?
  20. I get the feeling that their recruitment is a bit random and that they don't get the best out of their players. There are plenty of players in their squad who've won promotion from Div 2 or performed well in Div 1 who, as soon as they pull on a Pompey shirt, turn out to be not very good. If they do manage to get relegated this season it will be a hell of an achievement given the squad they've got and the wages they must be paying.
  21. Well, that was plucky. I don't think Tubbs had a shot all game.
  22. There'll be plenty of room, why they could throw in an underwater casino to boot. With facilities like that they'd be able to attract top talent, how long can it be before the rumors are confirmed and Maradona joins them as Manager?
  23. I was out of contract at Millwall over the summer anyway and every year there are more and more free agents available. "So it's nice to not have that uncertainty hanging over me. I can relax and concentrate on giving everything for Pompey." Or, in other words... thank, ****, what a bunch of mugs, I was going to have to hang up my boots.
  24. I think we got way over the odds when selling players over the summer, and using those valuations as a yardstick is unrealistic. 20-25 million sounds about right.
