"The training pitches are pretty good to be fair, when they are playable they are in a good condition."

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/hinshelwood-to-depart-pompey-1-6529974 "Martin is leaving to take up a scouting/recruitment role with a Premier League club." Please God, not Saints.

Or the fact that they still haven't got their safety certificate despite rennovating the affected areas of the ground.

OK - who can read between the lines... Agent Connolly on leaving Pompey: "It was not meant to be and I have now joined someone who wants to work with me. But there are a lot of really good people at Pompey, such as the chairman, the chief executive, the players and the board, while Gary Waddock is a terrific coach I previously worked with at Oxford."

Are we sure that's not Allen on the bus?

I get the feeling that their recruitment is a bit random and that they don't get the best out of their players. There are plenty of players in their squad who've won promotion from Div 2 or performed well in Div 1 who, as soon as they pull on a Pompey shirt, turn out to be not very good. If they do manage to get relegated this season it will be a hell of an achievement given the squad they've got and the wages they must be paying.

Well, that was plucky. I don't think Tubbs had a shot all game.
-
There'll be plenty of room, why they could throw in an underwater casino to boot. With facilities like that they'd be able to attract top talent, how long can it be before the rumors are confirmed and Maradona joins them as Manager?

I was out of contract at Millwall over the summer anyway and every year there are more and more free agents available. "So it's nice to not have that uncertainty hanging over me. I can relax and concentrate on giving everything for Pompey." Or, in other words... thank, ****, what a bunch of mugs, I was going to have to hang up my boots.
-
I think we got way over the odds when selling players over the summer, and using those valuations as a yardstick is unrealistic. 20-25 million sounds about right.

Please tell me he's ****

Struggling financially? I thought they were fan-owned, like Pompey.

From the fanfunder's report of the Wimbeldon game on the Portsmouth FC official site: "When the final whistle was blown, the stadium was filled with a chorus of deafening boos, from the Pompey fans, followed by the chant of ‘that was embarrassing’." Chambers has "hit the wall" according to Wenger, and can't bare the weight of responsibility.

They're not really convincing me yet that this community club model is going to serve as the bestest blueprint for the future of world football. Struggled to draw with Cheltenham lol... HTFILN

Wow - two fences!

Their really breaking new ground in general incompetence here. Why don't they just go the whole hog and re-brand to The King Street Tavern five-a-side Sunday League kick about team?

http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/article/andy-awford-delighted-with-portsmouth-training-ground-2152486.aspx Still not finished then, and for some strange reason there are no pictures of the Portacabin, fence and cones. Has anyone actually seen this marvellous new facility?

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30479986 "Gary Waddock says he has arrived at Portsmouth to assist manager Andy Awford - not replace him." Yeah, right...

"It is understood a Fratton Park meeting had originally been scheduled for today – with chairman Iain McInnes and chief executive Mark Catlin to sit down with Awford, McLoughlin and Paul Hardyman to discuss a shake-up. With the need to make room for a new coach, McLoughlin and Hardyman were under scrutiny, while the offer of an alternative role was to be discussed. However, such plans were scuppered when Awford instead delivered the bombshell to McLoughlin on Thursday – and the Pompey hierarchy never got the chance to meet him. McLoughlin added: ‘My future now is trying to sort this mess out. ‘You can’t negotiate if there isn’t a role to take. I decided in the end I was not prepared to hang around for months waiting for somebody to lose their job for me to take their role. ‘But I wish this great club every success.’" http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/macca-pays-pompey-tribute-1-6460974

Interestingly, he would appear to have been sacked by the board, not the manager http://Http://m.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/crawford-macca-harshly-treated-1-6459721
