  1. The hill is nice. I promise the rest isn't. Don't be fooled by the school.
  2. On the edge, harrow. Rent, not own. Rather not discuss the rent.
  3. I live here, not on great money, but I love it here.
  4. So tourism is a good indicator then? http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/record-tourist-boom-boosts-london-8871397.html
  5. I don't think you've got my point. I'm not saying there should necessarily be training & experience for unemployed. But if people are going to be made to work at the expense of the taxpayer, why not make that be productive for everyone? Why not get them doing something that will actually boost their employment prospects not just short term, but actually do something that can enable them to gain long-term employment and give them a chance of carving out a future for themselves, instead of just bouncing between short-term, low-paid jobs with little prospects and ultimately meaning they end up back on benefits in a relatively short time.
  6. Dunno if I'm running the risk of my first infraction, but I do really like this song. Just so happens this is the video. They happen to be friends of a friend, and are about to record their debut album with Steve Albini.
  7. I'd really like to know how these companies (usually rather big companies that can probably afford to pay at least the minimum wage) get chosen to. Employ these people whilst the govt pays their benefits. Again my experience (sorry, I don't have much else to go on), I worked as an intern full-time for a small music company, as it was the only job offer I'd come close to getting. I had to stop claiming JSA. I was very fortunate that my stepdad was kind enough to loan me some money to help with travel costs. But how would anyone ene do that. Ultimately, that internship was far more valuable than stacking shelves unpaid in poundland/tesco - or standing at a photocopier all day unpaid for the nhs. If you are going to make people work unpaid, really at the cost of the tax payer, does it not make sense to get them doing something that is going to help them long term, ie getting experience/skills that will give them the opportunity to gain employment afterwards, and maybe even further themselves, and thus contribute more in tax? Or is that just far too sensible?
  8. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but in my 2 years dealing with the JCP the impression I got was that they just wanted to get the amount paid out down by any means necessary. Everything they do is so short-sighted it is untrue.
  9. Sadly, I can speak from experience. So many of these really are true. I got some ridiculous ones: 2 weeks for not taking my Degree off my CV. 3 weeks for not getting a job @ Poundland - seriously the Job Centre sent 10 people for 1 role, wtf did they expect?! Various other bull**** ones.
  10. Anyone else think BS is just doing his usual, as it's hard to moan about Saints at the minute?
  11. Seeing as they played just over half a season each, they have probably each played all the big teams. Other than Arsenal, I'm pretty sure MP has played them all, but he has played Liverpool twice and won both games. This is a bit of a nonsense point.
  12. There are apps out there, that can change your device if you are using a mobile/tablet. I had one but I t seems to have vanished off the App Store!
  13. Every single claim he made that there is an Islamist conspiracy to impose sharia law in the UK. I can't stand him, but listen to the interview George Galloway did with him. Calls him up every time he tries to make one of his phony points, asks about any report or study he claims backs up his point and TR simply crumbles. It's all utter nonsense.
  14. It doesn't matter where you are from, blatant lies with no basis are blatant lies with no basis. This is what he uses to stir up hatred and mistrust.
  15. In theory, this is true. But, the way he presents his points is just ridiculous and not remotely based in reality. It's like Daily Mail headline scaremongering half the time. It's still just pandering to the ignorant, and frankly stupid.
  16. Eh? What a bizarre point. It would also reaffirm that London is one of the best citys on the planet.
  17. He's busy d!©king around by Tower Bridge, trying to organise some sort of orgy
  18. Only recently started watching it. The initial writing of Dayman was one of the first eps I watched, and then last night he was resurrected for the show. Brilliant.
  19. Don't lie Bear, you only ever watch pornos. It's Always Sunny is class though, dayman had me in stitches.
  20. Thinking about it, is there any Capital City/major City that isn't expensive? Or at least more expensive than the less desirable parts of the country in which a given city is located?
  21. I've lived in London for the majority of my life, and have never been wealthy and I still love it. I'm not saying it is the greatest or the best. BUT, to say it's one of the 10 'crappest towns in the country' is laughable.
  22. I'm warming to it, but I still don't LOVE it. Still think Humbug and Suck it and See are better albums, imo.
  23. I'm neither posh nor a student. I don't even think of it as rap if I'm honest. I think he's brilliant lyrically, and tells great stories. I enjoy it, so nerrr. I'm not so good lyrically, clearly.
  24. Gone to Wenger & Ramsey. Hard to argue with that really.
  25. When London, a City many regard as one of the greatest on the planet, is #1 then you know it's onto a loser. Also, aren't London & Southampton Cities, not towns?
