  1. Did you read the Damiao thread over the summer? The amount of "I don't want no Carlos Kickball types" or "Urgh, another South American like Gaston" type comments on that thread alone would suggest there is more to it than you confess.
  2. Given our stance over Sharp, I'd be surprised if his wages aren't at least being covered also. So over the course of the season he either costs us nothing, or we make a small fee on him being elsewhere. The reason we won't get a substantial amount - he just isn't as good as people think he is. Should Ramirez go, as I said all summer, I'd imagine he would fetch a higher price and go to a team of much better quality than Crystal Palace. Anyway, this is not about Osvaldo. I've said before, many on here would have labelled Drogba an expensive failure after his first season (£24m was a lot more for a team to spend in 2004 than £24m now btw), and demanded his exit. Bet Chelsea are glad he stuck around eh?
  3. Does anyone know we aren't getting a fee for the loan?
  4. Probably not. As I keep saying, take the fee out the equation, he contributed a higher combined total of Goals & Assists than Puncheon last year. Doing so in less games. Yet letting Puncheon go was an outrage and an awful decision.
  5. That quite plainly isn't what I was saying. I was saying that he had already started to show an upturn in form, prior to the arrival of Ozil.
  6. RVW was all set to take the league by storm!
  7. I find it bizarre that when talking about Welbeck, the first thing that gets mentioned is his running. Not his technique, positioning, touch, link up, holding-up of play, dribbling, heading, or most importantly finishing. These are the things that should be top of a strikers list surely? Sums up my empathy for England really, "He runs around a lot, so must be good for the England side".
  8. In the games they played in August. Like the 2 CL qualifiers he scored in against Fenerbache.
  9. Unsurprisingly, your logic is utter nonsense. He was gone for 5 years. Longer than he was there to start with. Of course him coming back makes an impact. Ramsey was also starting to look good before Ozil arrived. Ozil has had a huge impact, no doubt. But, not everything is just him. Flamini certainly allows him a lot more licence to get on with his job, in a way he may not have been able to had he (Ozil) signed last season and been playing without Flamini.
  10. Ooooh, how is the album? Worth a listen? Pearl Jam @ Reading '06 was one of the best things I've ever seen!
  11. True. I just think it is better than a fair few tracks on there. The arctics could make one hell of an album out of their B-sides: Stop the World I Wanna Get off... Sketchead Catapult I.D.S.T Red Right Hand (Nick Cave Cover) The Death Ramps Nettles Temptation Greets You Like Your Naughty Friend Bigger Boys & Stolen Sweethearts
  12. Someone just put this on in the office, what a belter!
  13. How did this not make it onto the album?:
  14. What happened to Ossie? Missed that one.

  16. The thing is, if we qualify we will no doubt still be taking the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Cole, Defoe etc. Undoubtedly they are good players, but they are all past their peak, and hardly represent the future of English football. I'd much rather see us take the approach Germany took a few years back, write the tournament off (coz we aren't going to win it anyway) and pick a team of kids who can get tournament experience. Who is going to get more from the euros, Ashley Cole or Luke Shaw? Frank Lampard or Ross Barkley? I'm not saying these are necessarily the better players right now, but who are more likely to be playing in 2016, or 2018? We aren't going to win next year, not a chance, let's give the kids some experience I say. You never know, they might actually give it a go and try for the shirt. Wouldn't that make a pleasant change.
  17. Wasn't Guly like £1m in L1? I wonder how that actually compares to £12m in the premiership with the massively increased revenue?
  18. It would be a shame. I do think he has fantastic ability, though I'd agree he is perhaps not an 'mp' player. I find some of the criticism odd, if you combine goals and assists, he contributed more than puncheon last season, who people were upset to lose. This is despite him being in and out of the team a lot, and actually playing less than punch. I do think he hasn't lived up to his potential, and can understand the thinking. I do just think it would be a shame. I'd still really like to see him given a chance with Ossie. I'd also say to those that aren't willing to give time to players that command big fees - what if Chelsea took that view with Drogba after his first season? I'm convinced our fans are too obsessed with fees.
  19. Yep. Signed in '08. So is now eligible, as I understand it.
  20. Get SuperMickey involved, he loves twerking on peoples.

  22. Whatever the reason, be it for being white or being new - it really is heartbreaking. Education on bullying, of all types, needs to be stepped up. From a young age, children need to understand the impact in can have. This should be used as an example, and hopefully a catalyst for change. It's sad enough this poor kid felt no other option than to do this, let it not be in vein at the very least.
  23. Basically, I'm saying to suggest it is in the top ten worst places to live in Britain is just plain silly.
  24. Harrow hill, where the school is, is very nice and yes very expensive. The rest really is not great. Sure there are worse places. But it really isn't lovely. London, like all cities has nice parts and not so nice. In my opinion, it's still a great place to live. So much history. Massive amounts of museums and galleries, apart from New York it is the best place for the theatre (I love the theatre), scores of live music venues, always so much going on. Ok it's not on my doorstep, but the slight distance from the very centre is a small price to pay, again in my opinion.
