  1. I wonder what his relationship with Sharp is like now? If it has soured after what happened here, he may not go. Seems to me Billy doesn't really like to be too far from Yorkshire.
  2. Absolutely. Summer after the cup final, Europe to look forward to, and we got players in like Neil McCann. Says it all really.
  3. 41 first go. Pretty poor.
  4. Saw Paul Weller last night at the Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust show. Palma Violets supported, which was a bit odd. They clearly wern't right for the majority of the crowd, which is a shame as they are a good band, and put in some great performances. They just have so much energy, and I do have a soft spot for bands with two-frontmen. It was also odd just how empty the place was for their set. In fact it was like this until literally a minute or so before Weller came out. As for the man himself. It was a great performance. He played a slightly odd, perhaps indulgent selection of tracks. But for me, it demonstrates that he is a man that absolutely deserves to be placed in the same bracket as the Lennons, McCartneys, Springsteens, Dylans etc. of this world. Simply put, he is an absolute legend. Was a little disappointed Noel G didn't make an appearance, would have put money on them doing some form of duet.
  5. Fair enough if that's how you feel about them. I'm a big indie fan, and think they are better than average. For me, someone like The Vaccines are a generic average band, their success I find completely baffling. They offer absolutely nothing different whatsoever. I think Palma's have a slightly different sound to a lot of other bands. I also really like the dual-frontman dynamic, and juxtaposition of a hyper-energetic shouty type, with a more nonchalant 'singer' (i'm not claiming either have the greatest singing voices ever). I also love the energy in their live performances. This is of course just my opinion, it would be dull if we all thought the same about everything.
  6. I can't imagine Pogrebnyak (sp) came cheap, wage wise.
  7. glad you took my suggestion on board. great track, absolute living legend.
  8. not saying you are wrong, but in addition to this... he also said in his Twitter q & a t'other day a big reason he came was the clubs ambition. something alot of the people that come in cite. I know a not of people on here sneer at this, and say it is totally unrealistic and will never happen. I don't wish to open up that whole debate again, but the club is clearly serious about it, and players appear to buy into it. it must be an attractive proposition to young players who are looking to progress to join a club that is seriously looking to do similar.
  9. You can agree a transfer outside the window. In fact a player can move outside the window. it's just the window is the only period where players can be registered, and therefore play for their new team.
  10. Can't get my head around that. Wasn't all that long back he was linked with moves to Utd.
  11. One hell of a kick on me. I like how you edited yourself out, you know the bit where I left you a cowering, sobbing mess in the corner.
  12. Don't encourage him FFS.
  13. Absolutely hilarious. Guess Rickie is off to West Ham as well now. Peter Odemwingie should take notes. If he wants that move away, he should sign a new contract.
  14. History will remember them as L1 Champions 2011.
  15. But, can they keep up with us though?
  16. Kick him in the nuts!
  17. he really is. this has to be one of the most unpopular govts for a very long time, not to mention incompetent. yet he is unable to ever take advantage. this whole, lets bash the millionaires shtick might be slightly more believable if he wasn't one himself. plus that stunt he pulled today "hands up if you benefit from the tax cut" he has pulled at least twice before. how stupid does he think we are? the labour party are frankly a joke. they claim they will boost growth, whilst cutting borrowing and the deficit, yet cry about every cut that is made. I love how they claim they were orchestrators of this 'economic miracle' Gordon presided over (ie borrow borrow borrow to manufacture jobs in the public sector which offer little in terms of value for money), then claim when it all went tits up there was nothing that they could do, and now whilst the world economy is still struggling its all the Tories fault. massive megalolz. the fact he isn't streaking away in the polls show just how poor he is. wouldn't be remotely surprised if he doesn't make it to the election. shame the guys in charge are just as nodding useless and pathetic really.
  18. uff, you're absolutely riddled with SWI's.
  19. Indeed, I saw your comment (& replied) on the gig thread. Thought it was a tadd harsh. I like them. Fair enough tough, would be dull if we all liked the same stuff p.s I do bloody love Savages.
  20. You can claim that all you want, I ain't getting into bed with you until I see an SWI test certificate. No matter how much Buckfast you ply me with.
  21. Scraping the barrel for things to moan about.
  22. Older people get free Tv licences, winter fuel allowance, free buss passes (it costs me £10 a day to get to/from work). Of course you aren't going to want to see things impact you, that's natural, as I don't either. But, it really is the young that are shouldering the burden here. We are going to work for far long than your generation, I can easily see the retirement age being at least 71/72 by the time I get there. We are also going to be paying a far greater percentage of our earnings, to receive significantly smaller pension payments. We are quite simply paying for current pensioners as well as our own. Whilst also being blamed for the welfare bill, despite the fact that care and pension make of up the majority of the welfare bill, far outweighing JSA & housing benefits - oh which they are also withdrawing from under 25s. This coupled with a lack of social housing, affordable housing and a general lack of house production over the past 20-25 years means it is only going to get harder for us to afford houses.
  23. I'm SWI (Saints Web Infraction) free!
  24. I am not condoning this, but this has to be one of my favourite put-downs ever. Note how I am not repeating it. So no fractions plz dumb mods
