There may be some truth in that granted, but I still don't think he would say we were the best team he's seen this season if we were truly abject. We have been far from 'awful since Adkins left'. I'm not saying we have been world beaters, before this gets twisted. But performances vs Everton, Utd & City were, in my opinion, pretty good. At times we have looked pretty bad, agreed. I just disagree with the statement Poyet made, and gave an example of another opinion from the outside which suggests this is the general opinion. I think Moyes may have been pretty complimentary of our performance against his side also, or should that one be dismissed too?

The players aren't taking their chances. Simple really. If we are creating, nearly 50 chances in two games (I'm relying on your post for this info) I would suggest the tactics are allowing us to create chances. I find it hard to blame the manager for the players inability to stick the ball in the net.

One of Adkins favourite Adkinsisms was "control the football". There were plenty who moaned endlessly about Adkins style being to pretty ticky-tacky. Adkins style is all about possession too. Or have you forgotten that already?
