Think we've missed out on brek Shea who's gone to stoke for 3 million.

Today has brought our minds off the whirlwind of the last 2 days and back down to reality. A win on Monday would be massive for multiple reasons now. Firstly the league table, joint with Fulham and Norwich and west ham are slipping. Would help with the hostile atmosphere and welcoming the new coach and can help bring us together as a club again. Biggest game of the season now.

What's the difference between him saying he wants us to go down and so many on here saying they want Qpr to go down and into admin with their ridiculous wages? No fault of the fans, just chairmen/managers? I think sacking Adkins at this point in the season is a massive shock and just the wrong decision. Perhaps the summer would have been better as the Spanish press sing this guy's praises. Right now, it could be too disruptive with us still in a precarious position.

Dont think he fits our formation. He's box to box not a holder or off the frontman. Perhaps this is why he has rarely impressed. Also think he gets caught in possession. Maybe because at rangers he was given the freedom of the ground against poor spl teams.

Shaw motm for me, Clyne a close second, coped well with Mata Oscar and hazard and for the second goal wow goal of the season for me. We cry out for signings and there is always room for improvement but no Lallana fonts Ramirez and Lambert to start. Not sure it's what Adkins said at ht but Lambert somehow scoring out of nothing that inspired. Adkins tactically spot on and great decision in chaplow coming on rather than Gaston. Final point, hoidveldt 2 away starts, 4 points.

The first goal was class from ba. The second was an unfortunate slip by yoshida otherwise it's cleared before ramires even shoots. Slightly negative team. Think j rod had to play after scoring fa cup and then Lambert or Ramirez behind but not all 3. Rickie more likely to impact as sub think Ramirez only shines when no top players are on the pitch.

We have always been a strong home side and that got us promoted from the championship. Of course the odd Sunderland result comes along, but I fancy us against everyom and even moreso Liverpool. With west ham and west brom seemingly run out of gas, it's good to have them at home in second half of the season. However, what could well keep us up is our sudden new found resilience away from home. Winning games when they matter, defending well and showing signs of taking an unexpected 3 points gives us an unexpected extra platform for the points tally.

Starting to see similarities in some of our current XI and the fa cup final team. 1) the main one, Lambert and Rodriguez remind me a lot of beats and ormerod as a pairing. 2) Shaw is like a young Bridgey, solid defensively but has that drive going forward. 3) Puncheon a left footed right midfielder always looking to cut inside and can shoot much like Fernandez. 4) two hard working, tough tacklers in centre midfield doing the same job as delap and Oakley did for us. 5) Ramirez played out of position on the left and come to the club with high expectations ala anders. Hope he fulfils his potential more though. What I think we need most of all is a Michael svensson dominant centre back. I think fonte is in the Claus mold but needs to keep improving. Also a niemi in the summer as Boruc looked good today. I feel these young players can have more quality about them that the 2003 lads who achieves a great deal.

He went done under no contact, however he had turned and was about to plant his right foot when the defender was coming in with a challenge. Now if he had planted his foot there would have been a foul and j rod could have ended up with a nasty injury. Therefore I don't blame the lad from moving his landing foot out of the way before he got chopped. As it was his landing foot still in the air he went down and made the most of it. My point is it would have been a foul if he hadn't avoided it at all costs last minute and saved hi.self an injury.

Boruc and hoidveldt there could be goals in this. Also, this could be the game where it all comes together.

Why accept 1 when there are 6 on the line? Villa are awful. There aren't many away fixtures where, as a saints fan, I'd be disappointed not to win, but after fulham and stoke, I'd expect to do what Wigan did to them.

I noticed before the arsenal game Morgan was the motivator and think he leads by example. Never thought of him as a captain before but he is captain material imo.

No I mean we lack a competent goalkeeper. Not one who's kicking is off or one that punches rather than catches, I mean we lack a goalkeeper that will not single-handedly lose us premier league points. This is the position that right now is our biggest threat to relegation if not dealt with. Adkins showed loyalty to Kelvin after last season and his services to the club, with a young keeper as back up. Kelvin was conceding poor goals, so gazza was brought in, did ok but started to throw away points. Boruc was brought in through panic as our keeping options were limited and he was a free agent. Right now Boruc looks the shakiest keeper we have and the only reason fans are willing to give him time is because one if his many spills has not resulted in the concession of a goal. If he spills another cross and is punished by villa with an important goal people will call for him to go. Points have been lost through individual keeper errors, Swansea and Fulham are prime examples, and if it continues it will relegate us. So need is the appropriate term.

We need a goal keeper

This match will come down to who plays better, Lambert or benteke. If Lambert is on song the you g villa defence will be enialated. However without fonte I worry if the same may be said for benteke. I also see use of their squad members eg bent and agbonlahor, who could defo hurt us.

You have to realise money isn't endless. A decision has to be made, quality in 2 positions or cheap alternatives that offer cover and don't improve what we have. We are lucky that cork and yoshi are versatile. If we buy a cb could yoshi play rb if Clyne got injured?

Some said play the first team so we avoid a poor result, some said give fringe players a chance and don't risk injury. I think this is a prime example of what the second group were warning against. Missing our lynch pin and got a thumping to hit the confidence of our first team.

I didn't get to see today's game. Curious as to how Boruc did in goal. 5 goals says not great but anyone got a more analytical review which can give me piece of mind for villa away?

In terms of goalkeepers, who do you think is the premier league team with the greatest selection of gks? I cannot really think of a side with 3 decent keepers, Chelsea, cityand arsenal don't even have 2 good keepers. Sunderland, Fulham, utd, wba but that's far from strong. Obviously spurs would be the bestplace to look for a quality keeper spending most time in the reserves but who else would be worth poaching? Given? Stockdale? Westwood? But these are all second choices.

Boruc JWP Mayuka J Rod lee I'd like to see get a game at some point. Players I'd use the cup to see what they've got. Boruc needs games, JWP experience, J Rod gametime, mayukas last game before ACN, lee hasn't had a run really so still an unknown.
