  1. That’s clearly an Bukta hint…or perhaps Spall 🤔
  2. Excellent. Ex-pros, and from the better youth era coaching kids how to be professionals. Was badly lacking previously.
  3. I understand they’ve gone there for the tea rooms and natural springs.
  4. Rational (not insane) window.
  5. Double 5, somewhere between an 8 and a 4.
  6. I understand that this was a challenge put to previous leaders at the academy. Perhaps the CoT could confirm as they’ll be able to ask what the new CEO thought of the academy success when remnants of previous regimes were waxing lyrical about the amazing academy. A huge amount spent, not a great deal of production. Ultimately, whilst busy patting themselves on the back, they lost their way, and spent plenty doing it.
  7. The last player to come through the Saints academy who was Premier League level was James Ward-Prowse. Oxlade-Chamberlain is older than Prowsey. It's likely that unless we buy players other academies, the next Premier League level player from our academy who has developed here over a long period is likely about 10 years away.
  8. Hopefully this finally confirms what plenty had said before. Semmens was a chancer, someone who’d made a career out of marketing and PR in an easier time. He started the downfall by engineering the Gao takeover, cleverly blamed everyone else but when it was only him and his merry team of incompetents in charge, it went to dirt. Noddy.
  9. I must say congratulations to the CoT leaders for this top trolling of those desperate for info of absolutely anything happening with this 🙌
  10. I still find it baffling that the period in which we produced the best players was one without a playbook, Southampton Way, Manifesto blah and where we just employed some excellent coaches who knew what they were doing without the need for a beginners user manual.
  11. For balance, also Neil McCann
  12. This just shows that a manager/head coach needs time to be able to implement a style of play, and given the years of struggle we’ve faced and modern life’s expectancy of immediate positive results when something changes, Saints fans had become impatient. The team itself would need additions to survive in the Premier League but 16 matches unbeaten is a fantastic achievement, and the attitude in the camp seems a long step away from the defeatist acceptance of bad results that seemed so prevalent, from boardroom to the pitch. Long may it continue. Well done RM, the team and how it has responded to RM, and the new board for their support so far.
  13. Ralph. Ze bad feelings.
  14. Superb effort that from El Scales
  15. West Brom might not be Barca but we are Valladolid and not Real Madrid 😎
  16. Nobody like him, nobody cares
  17. Cool, thanks for the advice 😎
  18. Indeed we did, but when I wrote this post on 15th September, we hadn’t 🤩
  19. Plenty of Saints fans mention it but none I’ve spoken to are particularly bothered. We have bigger fish to fry.
  20. To play a possession based game, you need to have players with high technical ability, speed to move in to space and high levels of fitness to keep playing that way. There’s nothing revolutionary going pn tactically but if you don’t have the players, you can’t play the system. That’s what RM needs to consider. Get some of the principals of play established alongside winning football, then improve the squad and tactics as you progress from a base of success.
  21. Comedy. People thinking they are better than they are. Hmmm, that could work.
  22. Whilst a new manager might get us playing better and being harder to beat, is this really a top 6 team? I see mistake after mistake with these players, playing casually with no intensity, and that’s on them as individuals. For anything better to happen, players also need to take a long hard look at themselves.
  23. Russ Abbott? Willy Russell?
