Yep. Southampton 1885 in the Wessex South Division IX hear we come.

Are you alluding to those French that every time something happens that they don't like they take direct action; and as a result ninety-nine times out of a hundred get their way?

Saints employees, decent people with mortgages or rents to pay and families to feed, are being hung our to dry by the administrator appointed by Barclays Bank, by refusing to pay their wages. The very same Barclays bank that pours 10's of millions into the Premiership every year, but for a tiny fraction of that is prepared to risk a decent community club, and play hard ball with the employees livelihood. I think it's time all decent Saints fans closed down their bank accounts with Barclays Bank.

[quote=aintforever;312874 The one positive thing is that the current role reversals have highlighted how much bigger Saints are as a club, when we were top dogs we were always being told by the blue few how much they are a sleeping giant, now even as FA Cup holders they struggle to fill their ground. When they were in a situation similar to ours they got way worse attendances, their average attendances at Championship level were often around 8-9K, never got above 16K until their sugar daddy turned up and they brought the league. If we were having the success they are enjoying it would be build a second tier on SMS time. !00% True. The Blue Few have struggles to sell out Fratton Parks meagre capacity (Anyone can see the empty seats on tv). And even allowed fans with a record of buying 1 (one) match day ticket the right to by their cup final tickets !!!!!! Portsmyth FC indeed.

95% of the population wouldn't know what a shamrock looks like. Including me.
-
You would have trumped my bid if you had.:-s
-
Mick McManus apparently

I would have thought it would be a lot better for Barclays, for all sorts of reasons not least PR, to run us rather than close us down and sell the assets. Barclays business is obviously banking, not running football clubs, but they would get a better deal once the current economic climate has changed.

And got you further in the Champions league then you ever have been before, or indeed will ever again.
-
These days its a prerequisite of any football club chairmen to have a ego the size of their wallet.
-
You never know, it could be Gavin Davies behind the Pinnacle bid.
-
I think you right. They could have been pretty good in the CCC with the right manager too.
-
Don't worry, I'm going back to bed.
-
Strange. I thought it was impossible to offer new contracts while in administration.
-
For a start I can't imagine Shearer being in too much or a rush to get back into management anywhere. Whoever does take us over I doubt would be able to afford him or anyone very exciting, however, managing in the lower leagues is a bit different from managing in the Premiership (ask Ince) and I'm sure AS cdajfu.

Now that was bloody hilarious. Nothing beat the old Den for a bit of an adrenalin pump though.

While flicking through an old copy of Charles Buchans Football Annual in a second hand book shop, i came accross an article about Ted Bates' revolutionary new coaching method. This involved a camera man, sitting up on the cat walk accompanied by an out of action player, shooting 150ft of film of every home game and using it to coach the team. Anybody know if any of this footage survives, or who the camera man was, or what 150ft of film amounts to in playing time?

But if he has no hope, his very presence is detrimental to our future by being the patsy that fry plays against real investors.
-
If he is just a bull****ter as you say, then all he is doing is pushing up the price that a real investor has to pay, and thus leave said investor less funds to put into the future running of the club.

Am I right in understanding Mark Jackson was LifelongSaint of two years ago? And wasn't there a supporting poster called Saint David?
-
Will never happen.
-
My guess based on nothing other than guesswork is MJ has been given a closer look of the books merely so Fry can publicly let that be known to get the serious bidders, Pinacle, Canadian group, to pull their fingers out.
-
Heath Robinson if we're lucky, more likely Salvador Dali or Maggritte !
-
I'm sure it will happen. The Coventry City bid didn't happen until the eleventh hour.

Someone recently posted on here the stats of all our managers since LM; and Sturrucks numbers stacked up reasonably well. Surprisingly. Rumour at the time was Beattie was leading the Sturrock out campaign.
