Does the fact that SMS is not included suggest Norwich Union intend to keep hold of it and charge the new owners rent? If so wouldn't that make it easier for a consortium to buy the club?
-
I for one would welcome a bid from Leon Crouch. Yes his appointment of Dodd was a mistake but he sorted it out and got the right man. He is a real fan. I remember being in a pub with him in Hull at 10.30 in the morning before our game up there two seasons ago. He sorted out the statue debacle with his own money. We could do a lot worse.

Let's have some names of potential new owners then...

**** off. The Northam Peoples Popular Front. Splitter -
Like you didn't when continually coming on here and supporting Lowe. Care to admit you were wrong?

I didn't buy a season ticket this year for the first time in many many years. I've still been to every home game. But I will be buying a season ticket for next season. Unless RL returns to buy us

How much would a consortium have to come up with? Would the overdraft have to be paid off in full? 2,000 fans putting in £2,000 each would probably do it. -
The more pertinent question is will those of us who kept going to SMS while saying that Rupert was killing our club, be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with those lunatics who support Lowe this season and backed his leadership?
-
I don't know about the nickname but the actual name should be... SOUTHAMPTON 1885 And where Red & White stripes.
-
That would be a consortium led by someone with a damn sight more money than RL and a genuine Saints fan to boot; the man who gave us our greatest day and established us a top flight team; and a man with genuine integrity?
-
It is easy to forget in all this but there were many small shareholders who were fans, and although i'm sure they didn't invest expecting to make anything out of it, they are still Saints fans who will have lost hundreds maybe thousands of pounds.

I'm an anti Lowe ranter, and lets face it we've had plenty to rant about; and maybe, if those who propped up Lowe had listened SLH would not be about to go into admin.

I would agree that bringing on the youngsters in itself wasn't a bad policy, but relying on them almost totally and then coupling them with a manager inexperienced in english football was the mistake.

Not getting rid of NP and appointing a nobody from the Dutch semi-pro leagues would have been a good start.

I think the guys to watch are Davis and Saltz

Shove her into a barrow and bring her along. Although under normal circumstances i don't approve of wives at football
-
I hope so. A real Saints fan, who had appointed a great manager and was sorting things out until Lowes menacing figure returned to haunt us
-
If the Lowester does resign i predict a full house and a New Orleans funeral style atmosphere on Saturday.
-
Lowe, in his own words, said he was coming back to protect his investment and the share price. He has failed. Anybody care to give me odds on Rupes admitting it?
-
Can't see anything happening. Apathy is the new protest.

Brian Hunt, Keith Wiseman, Ian Gordon and Paul Thompson

Crouch not Lowe. Pay attention. But its a lovelly picture you paint of Lowe selflessly working for the good of the club. How lucky we are to have such a deligent dedicated chairmen. Truth is Lowes arrogance and Wildes gullability convinced them to wrestle control back for themselves only to sack potentialy our best manager since WGS and follow another of Ruperts flights of fancy involving Dutch 'total' football. -
If the latest sorry episode means we can at last see the back of this axis of Askham, Lowe, and Wilde, then the future may contain some early buds of recovery. Hope springs eternal.
-
by not putting us in such a position in the first place. And by not getting rid of the best young manager we have had since wgs and replacing him with a no hope cluless manager from the dutch lower leagues. Idiot
-
If your cost reduction means a less quality team, that means worse results and fewer people paying through the gate, which means you have saved f* all because your product ain't selling. Lowe seems to have failed to do that basic equation and instead gambled on beating the system by employing a revolutionary new coaching system that went tits up.

If this cloud has a silver lining, which at the moment is hard to make out through the gloom, it is that worm Askham has lost all his ill-gotten gains.
