( And it would certainly be beneficial to have European ancestry ). Trump was only partially joking when he told a group of Christian students "Vote for me this time, you won't need to vote again. We will fix it for you". He is also stretching to breaking point the rules on Presidents not using their position to enrich themselves or their families.

Mainly on the grounds that if a Republican President does it now, a Democrat could do it later. However, Trump is certainly testing the limits of the Constitution and the Federal structure of the country. He is increasingly hacking away at the principle of three equal and independent branches of Government, providing checks and balances to each other.

Interesting test of the independence of individual States from Federal control or interference. It will all come down to whether the Supreme Court agrees with the Trump administration, ( hhmmm, how likely is that I wonder ), that there is sufficient evidence of a 'rebellion' or 'insurrection' that would grant the Constitutional authority for Federally mandated deployment of National Guard troops from other states. ( Washington DC being a different case, as it is directly managed by the Federal Government. Mind you, the NG deployed there have been spending most of their time litter picking and mowing grass verges ).
