A 12 year old Palestinian boy in East Jerusalem was shot dead whilst playing with a firework with his brother and some friends. The Policeman who killed him has been praised as a hero, the boy has been labelled a terrorist.
  2. My posts are always worth reading, and simply because someone sometimes picks you up on your sanctimonious prattling does not mean they are slipping into "pile on " mode. Those that appear to stalk you can be equally as annoying as your tendency to overblown verbosity.
  3. As we can't legally deport failed asylum seekers to Rwanda, the Government now wants to offer them up to £3000 to go voluntarily.
  4. Our youngest son works for a family business, of Indian Muslims.
  5. When SOGgy has been "accidentally"' reading Hypo's posts he clearly missed the one that included "'….I'm so far right that I'm married to someone of Arabic descent, have a Muslim father in law and mixed race children,..."
  6. "Premier League clubs have been accused of making an "empty promise" about a new funding deal for the English Football League (EFL). A meeting between clubs on Monday ended without an agreement on a 'New Deal'. Dame Caroline Dinenage, chair of the Culture, Media and Sport committee, accused clubs of "parking the bus"." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68542248
  7. If you think that is going to provoke me into posting again on a thread about a topic I care not 2 pence for then....... Oh !
  8. It's from a report commissioned by the Institute for Government that recommends reforming the way the Cabinet works as it is too big and unwieldy, and also suggests reforms to the Cabinet Office and the Civil Service. It's not as if the current Cabinet is much more than a collection of the PM's yes-men. https://www.civilserviceworld.com/professions/article/ifg-commission-recommends-new-department-for-the-civil-service
  9. But the electors of his constituency decided that they wanted a Tory, based on their manifesto. If he wants to be a Reform MP he should have to ask them if they still want him as MP, based on that Party's beliefs and ideals. After all, we do have Recall Petitions.
  10. He was elected as a Tory. If he had stood as an independent he almost certainly would not be an MP.
  11. Who cares ?
  12. Probably because of her
  13. Andrew Bridgen puts himself forward as the biggest and thickest headbanger in the H0C; ( The look of despair on Penny Mordaunt's face when she has to reply to the twat is priceless )

Save that image, it might be needed for the match thread.
  15. How much do you reckon it would have cost to fly on an RAF Transport Command plane ? Or even first class on BA or QUANTAS.

The only border crossing between Egypt and Gaza is at Rafah, and that is effectively shut except for limited access for humanitarian supplies.
  17. William Hague, Ian Duncan-Smith, Michael Howard......
  18. 1) I expect turnout to be relatively low as neither candidate will inspire participation in the democratic process. 2) Number of votes only matters state by state as it is Electoral College votes that count - Hillary Clinton won more votes than Donald Trump but lost the election.
  19. Spoilers warning; The span of this part of the story in the books is 3 years, in the film it is less than a year, ( measured by Princess Irulan's diary entries and Jessica's pregnancy ), and possibly little more than "'a season", ( according to one of Chani's lines of dialogue. ) Because of this certain details of the relationship between Paul and Chani don't fit in, nor the Baron's death, which I can accept, but Chani's ending rewrites the political impact of Paul's accession. As a consequence there are characters and relationships that, whilst pre-existing in the book of Dune Messiah, have yet to be introduced in Villeneuve's Duniverse. It's a bit like watching The Two Towers and seeing the Elves appear at Helm's Deep, I'm just a bit autistic about such things.
  20. England go from 175:3 to 175:6 as Bairstow, Root, and Stokes are all out on the same score, burning all 3 of England's reviews in the process. Now 183:8.
