When the systems settle down, checks should be carried out on samples from each load but now entire consignments are having to be checked to satisfy requirements. “These businesses are not transporting toilet rolls or widgets. They are exporting the highest quality, perishable seafood which has a finite window to get to markets in peak condition. If the window closes these consignments go to landfill. The knock-on effect of export falling over is that the fishing fleet will have little reason to go out. In a very short time we could see the destruction of a centuries old market which contributes significantly to the Scottish economy. “The problem is no longer hypothetical. It is happening right now. We are working with industry, Government, and other bodies to try to mop up the mess to allow trade to flow again. We are doing all we can to help companies get the paperwork done. It will take time to fix – which we know many seafood companies can’t afford right now.”

I thoughht I was on ignore. She should not have been there, she was smashing through doors and windows in a building where armed security officers were defending the Government of the USA. If she hadn't been breaking through that door, in the interior of the building, she would not have been shot.

Simp!e rule of thumb; if there is a Government building that is closed to the public, filled with several hundred of the nation's senior legislators including the Vice President, and guarded by trained, armed, officers, including the FBI and Secret Service, don't commit criminal trespass or break down doors and windows.

We don't know the details of how and why she was shot. If it was a trigger happy officer in panic mode then that should come out during the investigation and he should suffer the full weight of the Law. But what if it was perceived as a self defence situation by somebody charged with defending the Government ? Washington Police have said that there were firearms confiscated and the people carrying them arrested, they almost certainly didn't get them all. All in all it was a confused and mismanaged situation, and as yet nobody knows exactly what occurred.
