  1. B0ll0x !!! I'm being made redundant on June 18th, due to a 14% budget cut.
  2. 1) Same old, same old. Political influence will be bought and sold. 2) Tory backbenchers will try to strongarm the front bench. 3) As DC has said he will not serve a third term he won't finish this one. New Tory leader in 3 years, whether it's Boris is open to debate. 4) Labour will regroup, but won't be electable next time around unless the CONs make an almighty cockup. 5) EU referendum is linked to renogiated membership, but I'm not sure how much can actually be negotiated unless we are believed to be ready to pull up the drawbridge.
  3. Please speak English.
  4. So let's have a separate elected English assembly, none of this half-hearted English MPs for English issues cr@p. My personal 'soundbite' view of the result: Ed was proved to be the millstone many thought; the SNP will have no voice at Westminster, although they'll shout long and hard; I still don't trust Gideon or IDS, ( though I accept many do - that's democracy ); I think the 'beware the SNP under the bed' meme was the most effective message of the campaign; the biggest problem for a small Conservative majority will be the disproportionate influence of the right wing back benchers; Best question of the night's coverage was Paxman to Boris on E4 'How long before you stab Cameron in the back ?'; At least I did my bit - I voted Labour and my constituency was a Labour gain from the Conservatives.
  5. 'Government' will be just a little bit smaller on June 18th.
  6. Well, this particular 'spending cut' is about to go and vote. See you chaps later.
  7. Pretty much. There have been plenty of links already on the Forum to reports, blogs, etc with some very nasty stories, and supported by evidence from former Job Centre staff.
  8. Very much this.
  9. And to pay for it we are now reducing benefits costs by 'sanctioning' claiments for being ill and missing appointments, whilst the bankers still get their bonuses.
  10. I'll keep an eye out for a stitched up chin riding a Merckx.
  11. The southern side of Morecambe Bay is silting up, not washing away. ( This is a much nicer dialogue than the political b!tch slapping ).
  12. I live 60 yards from the high tide mark, and have clear views to the Forest of Bowland, which is 10 miles away. What's not to like.
  13. Because some people exhibited the good sense to recognise where God had created His masterpieces.
  14. Wrong side o' t'hills.
  15. But less weird people can ?
  16. They could lose a Motion of No Confidence. ( There is a provision that within 14 days a Motion of Confidence can be used to overturn this ).
  17. It never has up to now, why should you expect it to be different this time around ?
  18. Would that be the Gordons ?
  19. I don't think they will gain any seats, Labour will swing a few northern marginals, and the Cons may also lose a couple to UKIP.
  20. Which clan's tartan would that be ?
  21. It doesn't ! I'm a staunch republican, and as far as I'm concerned they are all a waste of space. The only thing that the Queen achieves is to keep her idiot son off the throne.
  22. If she wishes to live her life quietly and productively, she is welcome to do so. The problem is she won't be allowed to because of the industry looking for every profit making opportunity she will endow; the media frenzy that operates around the 'majesty' and 'history' into which she has been born; and the blind, unthinking, subservience that the Monarchy installs into many of the populace.
  23. There are feckless waistrels at the bottom of the social pecking order, and there are pointless, over privileged, faux-celebrities at the top.
  24. Oh dear. Here's a little education for you; http://www.worldstandards.eu/cars/driving-on-the-left/
