  3. Girls in their early teen years are probably a couple of years ahead of boys of the same age group in terms of their development, so will always tend to be academically superior; the 'gap' closes after 18-19. ( IMO but I think probably borne out by a common sense assessment of things ). As for exams being easier, the system is tied to the league tables, so teaching is tailored to producing children who can pass exams, rather than learn the subject ( not necessarily the same thing ). ( Says the father of three who is married to a teacher ).

  5. Second win looks nailed on, 5 sucessive ducks at the start of the Warwicks innings. Pity we only start playing so late in the season. ( That's bound to jinx things ! )
  6. Try an ATI RADEON HD5670 based card, as low as £60 online for an ASUS card at Currys
  7. A few Kirsty McColl tracks followed somewhat eclectically by AC/DC.
  8. You are omitting the 'luxury' item - for which I would take the same 'item' my daughter said when she was asked the same question - Ray Mears, he could then build a canoe and get us both off the damned island. As for 5 tracks "Let Down" by Radiohead - a mesmeric tune A recording of Pachelbel's Canon "Away in a Manger" recorded by Besses o'the Barn brass band with my daughter playing solo "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding "Epiphany" by Staind For the book "The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
  9. Surely a crap ref is generally crap for both sides - unless there is some evidence that he is biased against Saints/south coast teams in general/the home side, or that he specifically favours Millwall/London teams/ the away side. If there is to be minimal physical contact, and as Chappers is suspended, would that not work in our favour, being the new Barcelona and famed far and wide for our silky passing moves ?
  10. It's just a normal feature of most modern laptops, I blaim the (ab)user for not having the necessary dexterity to cope with modern technology. It doesn't 'automatically' click the link, it takes the act of removing and replacing the finger tip as a 'tap' - equivalent to a mouse click. Go back to your Babbage's Difference Engine.
  11. When did we beat Leeds 7-0 ? He really is the worst reporter on the radio !

  13. R5 saying that's 7 successive league wins.
  14. Competes for Slovenia.
  15. How do you know I don't have the greater experience ? ( Mind you, the fact I consistently rise to the bait probably proves this point ).
  16. It would have more creedence if the Chancellor of the Exchequer rather than the Foreign Secretary were saying it. Mind you, I think the Britain is not in the direct line of fire because we aren't in the Euro, not because of the Government's financial prestidigitation.
  17. Just to add to Dunce's pointless graph, the maturity date for Greek investments is about to be extended to 15 - 30 years, and the interest cut to 3.5% as part of the new support package.
  18. Looks to me that the best rates come from Greece, Ireland, and Portugal ? Not sure that's really a sound investment - you might as well include Iceland.
  19. As they did on Black Wednesday ?
  20. We're not in the Euro, which is a large part of their problems.
  21. HOW LOUDLY DO YOU WANT US TO SAY THE CUTS ARE TOO MUCH & TOO FAST ? They aren't dealng with the deficit, Government spending and borrowing have gone up. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-2017214/Deficit-plan-pressure-UK-borrows-14bn-June.html
  22. In other words, reinstate the Empire ?
  23. Dunce, your obsession with Rhodesia / Zimbabwe is unhealthy. Stop reading IDS's biography and the Daily Heil, shut down your PC, open your front door, walk down to the front gate and go through it. Where you will find yourself is called 'The Real World'.
  24. Council Tax increases are set by local councils, the majority of which are not Labour ( being Tory, LibDem or NOC ), and are generally capped by Westminster.
