HM Treasury are currently advertising for a new economist to work in the OBR http://www.civilservice.gov.uk/jobs/careers-detail.aspx?JobId=15989 I love the tag line : 'Please note - HM Treasury provides HR support services to the OBR, however the OBR remains independant from the Treasury', where they can't even spell independent correctly. ( As Jim Royle would say " Independent - my @rse" )

And I think you are typical of the far right - what a way to carry on a reasoned debate I don't think any of this is to do with 'Conservative policy' - nor more accurately with COALITION policy. I think the OBR is no more independent of the Treasury than Wales is of the UK.

I'l see your BBC article, and raise it with some Financial Times scepticism, they reckon it's far too convenient that at the last minute the OBR made changes to it's calculations that suddenly made their predictions more favourable to the Government's position.:

The most worrying aspects of this are (1) that something we should probably expect to be 'secret' is on a system visible to more than 2 and half million people, including junior soldiers and filing clerks, and (2) how easy it was to download all this stuff onto a USB and walk out of the office with it. Do the CIA, FBI, and Department of Defense, ( they can't even spell correctly ), have any idea of how to secure data held on computers ?

It depends on whether Olly can be ar$ed about the cup at all. Remember Blackpool's 'weakened' team only lost by the odd goal in 5 at Villa a couple of weeks ago. Having watched them at the Reebok yesterday, and taking into account their excellent away form in general, one thing is almost certain, it will not be 'boring'. They are quick and fluid on the attack, keep the ball down, and will run directly at our defenders. Most of all, they play as a TEAM. This will certainly spice up my office tomorrow.
