  1. The only way that extending the retirement age will save money is if some of the members die in service between 60 & 65, otherwise all it does is delay payment, rather than cut it. They will also work an additional 5 years, thus increasing the number of 60ths or 80ths of salary they receive as their pension & lump sum.

  7. WRT AA's claims that they can continue in admin for several seasons - the FL rules say that their membership would be terminated if that were to happen : From Wimbledon's woes ( http://www.wisa.org.uk/cgi/l/articles/index.cgi?action=show&id=440 ) "This decision comes as welcome news after the League’s Board of Directors had previously confirmed that in accordance with its insolvency policy Wimbledon FC would not be permitted to begin a second season in administration. Therefore, unless Wimbledon exit administration by the 31st July 2004 its League membership will be terminated and the League now hopes that the Inland Revenue accept this decision and allow the Club to finalise its exit from administration in advance of that date." From earlier this year re Stockport (http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/apr/08/stockport-county-takeover-bid-blocked ) "The threat to Stockport's long-term future lies in the fact that the League will not permit it to begin a second season in administration, potentially making it the first club since Aldershot and Maidstone United in 1992 to be expelled from the competition over insolvency issues
  8. Land of Dope & Tories is the de facto anthem of the CONservatives, so automatically excludes all those of us who refuse to adopt blue rinse hairdos and worship at the alter of capitalist exploitation. For me it has to be either Jerusalem or I Vow to Thee. As for standing for GSTQ, I try to avoid that if at all possible, but if my wife kicks me into compliance I always hold my hands behind my back with my fingers crossed, and keep my mouth firmly shtum. ( Mind you, the old dear is doing us all a favour by keeping Chuck off the throne ).
  9. And of course, if it goes on long enough, they are not permitted to start 2 consecutive seasons in administration.

  13. But it finishes with the challenge; "I will not cease from mental strife, nor will my sword sleep in my hand, 'til we have built Jerusalem in England's green and pleasant land". A positive, uplifting, exhortation.
