1. The IP address you see in the MIME headers on a mail message is the address of the mail server. With something like Hotmail or GoogleMail you will never see the IP of the sending client PC. (For instance. I have a yahoo.co.uk email account,- if I was in Malaysia and sent a message, the recipient would see a UK based IP ). If, on the other hand, you are looking at the domain portion of the sending mail account, and tracing that via WHOIS, be aware that it is extremely easy to spoof this information so that it looks to have come from somewhere else.
2. "But he also said the unions had raised some genuine concerns....." "I think there is a genuine issue between the unions and ministers about the pension contributions, which I hope is the subject of further discussion," A solution is in there somewhere, but both sides need to stop posturing and start negotiating.
3. Jutkiewicz and Maynard have only scored as many as Guly.
4. There are fans at 23 other Championship teams who would swap league table places with us tonight.
5. "We are Southampton. We're top of the League!"
6. She's the tatoo artists girlfriend ( now former gf ). She wanted a tatoo of Narnia, but he found out she was cheating on him !
7. No it's opinion. There is still more than half a season to go, and whatever opportunity the January window might offer us. I'd rather we had a little slip now and finished strongly than struggle for the last 8 games of the season and flop in the payoffs.
8. Spudgun, did you know your avatar has been copied ?
9. Jeez, there's some bloody miserable folk about, and most of them seem to be on here this afternoon.
10. If it's coming from hotmail, then all you will find is a Microsoft mail server somewhere. If you go to http://geoip.sifavi.com/ip/ and put the IP in the host/IP box on the left hand side, this will show you where the server is accoring to ISP/WHOIS data.
11. Just seen this mentioned on "Have I Got News For You" http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2060908/Tory-MP-Patrick-Mercer-calls-David-Cameron-worst-British-politician-Gladstone.html Comments...........
12. Now, now, BTF, you know full well that Thatch was infallible in all she did for the greater good of this wonderful, and under her tenure totally united, nation of ours.
13. I haven't been in a union since 1989.
14. If you accept that Clarkson is a complete Yorkshire ***t, and everything he says is part of an unpleasant public facade linked to an extremely effective marketing machine, you can pigeonhole him into an appropriate space, and judge him accordingly : he is just an animate 3D edition of VIZ. Yes he says some unpleasant things, but he's very funny when discussing and derogating the French and the USofA. The over reaction is exactly what he wanted -more publicity.
15. No it isn't. I despair of the glut of sensationalist 'celebrity' magazines, and as for the tabloids - i wouldn't even wipe my arse with them.
16. Because in the same way as the Government the unions are self serving and dogmatic, and this is more to do with public posturing on both sides to impress their own respective audiences.
17. Which brings us nicely back to the question 'why won't the Treasury permit an independent audit of the schemes ?', so as to verify if it is indeed the case that certain of the public sector schemes, such as the LGPS, are cash rich and do not require propping up by the taxpayer.
18. I don't take issue with any of that, in fact the % of GDP is supposed to be going down. Where there seemed to be an issue on Newsnight yesterday was that Mark Serwotka was claiming the increased contributions being demanded were not, in fact, going to be fed into the pension schemes, but would be siphoned off by the Treasury.
19. The LGPS is administered by Local Authorities ( the employers ), who invest the funds on behalf of the member employees. It has no direct link to the Government, other than the over-riding regulations concerning how it should be managed.
20. I didn't realise you were a leftie.
21. Please quote the full facts if posting something potentially imflammatory : This is governed by the National Occupational Sick pay Scheme :

Length of Service CSP Entitlement

During 1st year of service 1 month full pay + (after completing 4 months’ service) 2 months’ half pay

During 2nd year of service 2 months’ full pay + 2 months’ half pay

During 3rd year of service 4 months’ full pay + 4 months’ half pay

During 4th and 5th years of service 5 months’ full pay + 5 months’ half pay

After 5 years’ service 6 months’ full pay + 6 months’ half pay

22. BMI is bang in the middle of what it should be, salad for lunch - as usual, and off to the gym at 15:30 - once the shift has finished for the day. So I'll give you 1/4 for trying.
23. She has the right to ask, but the staff have the right to not reply. Generally advice would be given by the Local Education Authority.
24. Trousers,( post #333), I am not sure the Head would necessarily have access to the data you are querying in A, B, and C.
