  1. A footballer died in Italy this afternoon - should we think about banning that ? Sadly, horses can be killed at any of the National Hunt courses, plus any cross country, point to point, or local hunt meets. Richard Pitman was telling a story on R5 on Thursday about one of Ginger McCain's horses that died on a training run on Southport beach. Should horse riding as a concept be stopped ? Ironically there is a line of thought that says because they have made the Aintree course 'easier' it will make for more tragedies, as owners and trainers will be tempted to enter horses that really shouldn't be considered. I have held the head of one of my daughter's ponies as it was put to sleep, due to serious illness. All the owners trainers and jockeys in racing feel affection for their horses, but beleive that they enjoy what they do. You wouldn't put something you love through that it you felt otherwise, and 3/4 of a ton of highly tuned muscle won't go where it doesn't want to.
  2. I think ours is better over the last 10 or 11 away games.
  3. We have won 5 of our last 6 away games, Tuesday will make it 6 out of 7.
  4. Even if they somehow manage to avoid relegation, liquidation is still a strong possibility. Relegated and out of business, survive and out of business - heads they lose, tails they lose.
  5. We are better than our result yesterday, WHU are not as good as their's today. It's a 3 game shoot out, 2 away and then 1 at home, and we start with a 3 point lead. Control the controllables.
  6. We are 3 points ahead of WHU, still have a superior GD, and we both have 2 away games next week. Only if it gets to the point where it is mathematically certain we cannot go up, I may, reluctantly, have to accept there will be no Premier League football for me next season. Until then, ( and given it will not happen ), COYS !
  7. Piermario Morosini has died - puts it all in perspective.
  8. Your car could have crashed, your house could have burned down, you could have been bitten by a rabid dog - it's only a game.
  9. For all those obessing about WHU's score, Peterborough have conceded 4 - Dirty Leeds showing us the way forward.
  10. Win, draw, win will put us up regardless of Wet Sham, probably less as I can see them failing to win at least one of their last 3, so keep the faith.
  11. "But Nigel Adkins' side can take huge credit for the way they played and if they perform like they did tonight in each of their final three games there will not be a team that can live with them. Reading's victory was secured courtesy of some fine goalkeeping from Adam Federici....." That's how the BBC saw it. So blue line and take it out on the Posh. There is no reason for Wet Sham's results to matter.

  13. It's really touching that Liverpool would want to show such respect on the 23rd anniversary of my appendix being removed, but I think I'm over it by now.
  14. Que ??????
  15. How quickly we forget winning at Dellhurst Park.
  16. We can't deal with the issue, only NA and the players can do that. Our job is to support them for 90 minutes of every game and trust that those people who actually can influence the team's destiny find a way to deliver on our expectation of them.
  17. Alpine's postings are the most predictable part of this season.
  18. What hurts for me is conceding 2 goals to somebody called ALF wearing PINK boots ( FFS ) !
  19. We could have had 3 before they got their first gift, and forget the third, conceding in added time when chasing an equaliser is just rubbing salt in the wounds. For most of the match we dominated and they defended in depth, we managed plenty of clear chances on goal but didn't quite have the sights set correctly; the early deflection off Gorkss could have crept in by the post, Jos had 2 or 3 clear unmarked headers, as did Adam, plus his cross/chip which just got tippped over. I do think we became a bit predictable late on, how many deep crosses to the far post came in from the right hand side whilst they had everybody behind the ball ? Overall, if we can put in this level of performance in the last 3 games I can't see a problem with acheiving automatic promotion, and we could even get 3 wins, and remember, after Brighton, Wet Sham still have to go away to Brizzle and Leicester.

  21. We will beat Posh and it then won't look half as bad. Come on you Seagulls !
  22. Agreed - though I bet a few on here will say we've blown it.
  23. Match stats from the BBC : 10 shots to 2, 6 on target to 1, 3 corners to 1 Play the second half the same way it will come good. And the worst case scenario - it will still be in our control for the last 3 games. Chins up, chests out, we can beat this lot - WE ARE THE SAINTS !
  24. Some chap built it as a hybrid based on a real M16. http://www.likecool.com/DeWalt-16_Nail_Gun--Tools--Gear.html "It can drive a 6-D nail thru a 2 X 4 at 200 yards"
  25. Would they be AA's fantasy entries, used to dilute HMRC's original percentage ?
