Apart from that, there is a nesting pair of collared doves in our laurel tree; various small species of bird through the year, ( blackbirds, thrushes, blue-tits, coal-tits, greenfinches, goldfinches, robins, etc ); owls in the field at the back, and in the spring and summer months pipistrels and horseshoe bats. We even, once, had a pair of lovebirds, presumably escaped from an aviary, perched on the telephone wire.
