  1. No. It might be that you don't have a clue what he's on about, but that's a different matter.
  2. Also lost my small shareholding, as did my son, for whom I bought shares as a birthday present some years ago. But I'd happily lose several times that amount to achieve the result that we have and anyway, they were value for money for the ability to watch the clowns in action at AGMs. I'll miss the AGMs, but am happy that we are no longer a PLC and have ridded ourselves of all that dross, all those business minnows who didn't have a clue.
  3. I look forward to the future when with luck we can all move forward together as a unified fanbase for the good of our beloved club, now that the divisive egotists have gone. Wouldn't it be nice if the main talking point on here was not the board (apart from praise for funds being made available for a decent manager or players) but the results obtained in the league and our progress upwards? I'm sure that as soon as the ink dries on the contract signing and we begin the new season, there will be little reason for people to rake over the coals, except to hopefully reflect occasionally on how close we came to the wire and how grateful we are that everything worked out alright in the end.
  4. I can sense some bitterness here from you, SOG. None of the players lost is irreplaceable and had we survived administration, you know damned well that they would have jumped ship on relegation anyway. The difference is that our new owner does apparently have a few bob to his name, which is more than Lowe and the other charlatans did, so I'm feeling pretty confident that at least we might have some decent replacement players instead of having to trawl the Tyro league for them, as Lowe would have done. So, yes; Lowe's gone. Yay!
  5. Feeling better and better with every passing hour. You?
  6. It will be up to our new owners. If they feel that it makes good business sense to offer some reward for loyalty, then fine. If not, then I'm sure that as the astute business people they are, they will set the prices at a sensible level. This will reflect the division we are in and ought to take account of the fact that it is better to set it at a level that encourages a fuller stadium than one where the stadium is half empty. The reason is simple; with more people comes greater expenditure on ancilliaries such as food and drink, programmes and impulse buys in the Megastore. They could do a lot worse than study Norwich's price scale, which gives concessions for the young up to the end of the teen years and also the older supporters. That policy rewards the longstanding fans and encourages the youngsters into the Saints supporting habit, as well as encouraging family attendances.
  7. I'd rather not have gone through a large part of the past decade, so the past few weeks are not too much of a burden if the end result means we are finally on the way back up, having reached our lowest point.
  8. yay!
  9. We certainly do hope. Goodbye and thanks for not much.
  10. OK. I'll play the game. The statement that you made was pure speculation. FACT. How did I do?
  11. I have had two STs for many years of Lowe's tenure, boycotted the renewal when he took us down, but still attended all home matches. Then I renewed when Lowe was forced out and then boycotted again when he returned and attended all matches until the tail end of the season when I'd had enough and decided not to put one extra penny into the club while he remained. Now he's gone for good (hopefully), I'll be back to renewing the STs for this coming season. Yes, we gained administration, but I'm inclined to believe that the boycotts might have affected the finances, but not the relegation, which was self-inflicted the moment we dismissed Pearson and appointed the double Dutch. Although it has been nerve-wracking and we might have ended up with Jackson's lot or Fialco, ultimately we will hopefully end up where we would otherwise have been, but much, much better off financially with the new owners than if the club had survived the administration but with Lowe remaining. For the first time in many years, I feel more optimistic for our future. We will look back on this episode a few years down the line and count our blessings that all of this transpired.
  12. I reckon that those who facilitated the removal of the Lowe regime so that the takeover by the Swiss could proceed, deserve some sort of reward, recognition and thanks
  13. I think that you'd find that was girls blowing smoke from the lower body frontal orifice; unless you went into a nearby neighbourhood and have eye-witness evidence of what the poofs do?
  14. OK, I'll bite (yet again) to respond to your trolling. If we, the paying customers of the business, cease attending because we perceive that either the price is too high, the product is inferior, or we are not treated with respect by the owners, then it cannot be the fault of the customer, can it? But as we are possibly as soon as today to be taken over by a Swiss owner considerably more wealthy than anybody else who has owned the club in its entire history, things will hopefully change for the better. Simultaneously, we are getting shot of our debt and at the same time removing all of the charlatans who brought this once great club to its knees. As a result, I'm inclined to feel that if we had the chance to rewind the clock, I wouldn't have done anything different to have kept those losers in charge to die a more painful and lingering death. Lastly, your statement is NOT a fact. It is pure speculation.
  15. They were originally, but have since been bought by Dunhill and then the Swiss.
  16. Agree totally. This stability card is becoming boring. It was alright for the previous chairman (his name escapes me) having a manager a year, so why should we keep on one of his appointees for the sake of stability when he never could? Having got shot of him and his board, having had half the squad leave, it surely makes sense to have a clean sweep of the manager too and make a fresh start of new owners, new manager and new players. Once the detritus of last season has all been swept away, then the stability can begin with the new people, providing it is somebody viable like the Swiss, rather than the other clowns, that is.
  17. Look at the size of those kids! Nearly all of them as tall as the goal!
  18. How do you know this?
  19. We're all turning into pedants while we await some concrete information about Saints...
  20. Not so, according to the Oxford English Dictionary. Q."What comes after once, twice, thrice? A. Nothing, I'm afraid. These three are the only words of their type, and no further terms in the series have ever existed (the suggestion of `quince' for `five times' is picturesque but no more!). Presumably the language has not felt the lack of them."
  21. Yes. The saying goes, "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" So yes. Only three attempts, I'm afraid. The Scots are different though. Where would Robert the Bruce have been if he had given up at three attempts?
  22. But does Fry have any duty or even moral responsibility to consider the creditors future dealings with the entity in administration, or just to get the best return for them on the money owed to them at present? I agree that some of the suppliers of goods or services would prefer the possibility of the business being taken over by somebody big financially and well known, in case they are considered as future suppliers. That way, they might also claw back some of their losses from future profits from that business. From that perspective I can see that they would be happy if the business were to be bought out by the Swiss. Frankly though, if I were one of those creditors, I would insist on a pro-forma basis if I were supplying goods or services to the club if run by Bachelor's or Jackson's lot, the same with Pinnacle.
  23. quadruple? quintuple?
  24. Will they remain our creditors? I thought that once they'd been paid off, at x pence in the £, that was the end of it?
  25. Fry So fry is keen on the Swiss bid because he feels that they are best placed to return the club to where it should be? And I thought that his sole responsibility was to getting the best price for the creditors, regardless of whether that was also good for the club.
