  1. nope. He's 3rd choice and we need cover in a position where a lot of tackling and covering a lot of ground are important. We struggled immensely without Cork (and Shaw) in the team in opening of last season and I certainly don't want to be in that position again should Victor or Morgan get any long term injuries. Competition for places is vital, should make players up their game.
  2. MP wouldn't have signed him if he thought Dani would disrupt team spirit etc. He knows exactly what he's getting with him. Dont think MP would want to sign a disruptive influence as MP seems to really value a strong team spirit.
  3. Davis Clyne Yoshida Hooiveld Fox JWP Cork Ramirez Davis Isgrove J-rod bench - Gazza, Fonte, Chambers, Reed, Lallana, Rowe, Mayuka Really can't see Osvaldo featuring.
  4. bit odd, his partnership down the right side with Clyne was one the best things of last season . Can understand the family issues thing, remember mp saying in an interview that it was one of the reasons he was picked less frequently towards the end of last season. His partner recently had a child didn't she?
  5. The modern no 10 has to do quite a lot of pressing especially on the holding midfielders/playmakers, I really don't think lambert would be able to do this. Our no 10 will be 1 of Ramirez, Davis or Lallana.
  6. Would not be surprised to see newcastle really struggle this season. My toon supporting friend has no faith in Pardew whatsover, says he has clear favourites who always get picked regardless of form and plays key players in the wrong positions. Don't think the influence of kinnear is helping things much either...
  7. [video=youtube;-ofgXv7JYOM] Jurassic park!
  8. weren't whu paying nolan upwards of 50k whilst in the championship? bet cole ,downing and carroll are all on very heavy wedges as well
  9. Fulham scored with almost there only shot on target, smash and grab result for them. Sunderland by far the better team without creating many clear cut chances. Altidore, Giaccherini and Cabral all played well apparently. Their weak at fullback, would be good to get Shaw and Clyne running at them.
  10. Wanyama outstanding, im a big fan of Cork but Wanyama seems like a great upgrade. Chambers looked a little nervous at times but generally looked fairly comfortable. Fonte still gives me the shivers but Lovren was great, superb tackle on anelka 2nd half. Good defensive showing which is promising.
  11. I expect JWP is playing the role that steven davis did so well for us last season. Great to see 4 academy players in starting lineup, how many clubs have done this? Villa? United?
  12. Fox was apparently at st marys watching the u21s, means he didnt travel with the squad. i wonder if chambers will feature, wasnt involved in the u21 game
  13. reckon we will start with this boruc clyne lovren hooiveld shaw wanyama schneiderlin lallana jrod guly srl mulumbu tore us ragged at the hawthorns last season, thought he was exceptional in that match. him vs wanyama should be quite a battle. I would be so much more confident of a result with clyne and shaw in the team rather than chambers and fox, really hope those 2 are fit to start. puncheon to be used as a super sub this season
  14. fair prediction as we lost twice to them last season, I think it will be a 1-1 draw
  15. This is the jewel of the crown of what has been an incredible 4 years as a southampton fan. I love you rickie, you mad me leap out of my seat.
  16. get in! - i love you rickie
  17. shes a big fan of pochettino - Mina Rzouki ‏@Minarzouki 22 May If Pellegrini leaves Spain, as we expect, than La Liga has lost 3 of its best Coaches this yr: Pochettino, Pellegrini & Montanier would also love osvaldo to sign, excellent player who already knows the coach and his tactics. i also dont think he will need much of a "settling in" period due to the fact hes already worked with Mp before. much rather spend 18m on him than the 26m quoted for damiao (hes worth no way near that imo)
  18. I think the signing of wanyama will help address it, he seems to add a little bit of creativity into that cdm partnership as shown by his terrific ball forward to morgan(?) to score against sociedad. I think he will also allow morgan to roam forward a bit more, he's scored a couple in preseason and looked a real goal threat at times. wanyama also has a great long shot which almost no one in our squad possesses.
  19. Sounds like he is actually considering us as a serious option. Would be an incredible buy, someone that's good enough to rival Balotelli for a starting spot in the Italian national team is definitely too good for saints. Would make this a perfect transfer window(well maybe another cb who can cover comfortably at fb if im being greedy)
  20. sounds horrible Wish him a speedy recovery
  21. lampard is just a sh.it steven davis imitator imo. also gerrard was/is streets ahead of lampard
  22. Delighted for him. Just Clyne and cork now.
  23. Delighted for him. Just Clyne and cork now.
  24. Cork and Clyne should get call ups before Lambert Imo.
