  1. Season 2009 to 2010 started season on -10 in League 1 after administration and new owners brought in without being able to impact on the squad a great deal. Season 2012 to 2013, currently 13th in Premier League and almost certain to stay up. Not sure what the problem is? I think this is one of the most amazing rise through the leagues this country has ever seen. Even when Man City did something similar, they went down again before being promoted again, think the same with Newcastle. Swansea are the real amazing team in this escapade, maybe we should follow their transfer policy? Seems to be proven, rather than the QPR type method that Alpine is eluding to. Look, I know you need to bang this continuous drum Alpine, maybe because you see yourself as the pace setter for the transfer market, however, take a breath, a step back look at where we were and where we currently are. If these previous 3 or 4 seasons (to include the JPT), have not been the best youhave ever seen at Saints, then you are very old. I too remember 1984 as well as the Keegan years, but, barely recall '76 or the European '77 season. Therefore, for me, since 1980, I have not known 4 better back to back seasons, EVER! I am made up, really happy and I love the fact ML purchased this club. In fact, thinking about it now, has almost brought a tear to my eye, RIP ML, you will never be forgotten!
  2. Seriously, do you think I'm going to respond to that fishing question? As you may or may not have realised, I just p****d all over your point. Grow up, get a life, get out more.
  3. Unfortunately, a very misguided, easy way of interpreting things. I accept that this may well be your interpretation as to how 96 people lost their lives and it was all a big mistake and misunderstanding and that the lies wouldn't have prevented this, but, 96 people! 96! Seriously, how many mistakes have to be made for 96 people to die of crush related incidents! This isn't a mistake, this is failure to your job! This is then covering up that failure and blaming those that dies, because of your faiulure. Not 1 person to blame, are you sure! I know it took more than one person to cover up this blithering idiot, but, blame is clear. The thing that worries me most is thew laws brought in on the back of this, opportunitic? And the amount of money generated and the amount of contracts won! If I had my conspiracy hat on, there's more going on here than you'd think, but, yes, one person made the decision which ultimately and directly lead to the deaths of 96 family and friends being killed in a most painful, drawn out way. Throw away the key if you ask me!
  4. Think it's worth pointing out to those that weren't there that day (Upton Park), Rod Wallace scored after 34 seconds. Remember it as you described above. Me, I went via the tube, so a whole load of us were stopping at shop windows with TV's in them, looking at the news. This memorial day, tied up with the iron lady's funeral on Sunday, strange how things come about. On the back of Heysel, Hillsborough and then sadly, Bradford, the commision went for all-seater stadiums. Plus a load of other hooligan related, people's freedom, people's rights being taken away without the legal standing. Now, as we know, the pendulum of blame has swung back to the officials side - the police, the politicians and the government. What do we find when we turn that stone over? Lies, miusrepresentation, blame and denial, all packaged up ina nice little way to help erode our human rights. Let's get this right shall we? Let's just remember that it was the police and the government that 'blamed' the fans and off the back of this, football fans' rights were eroded overnight. It was known that this was incorrect, but because the people that knew, had the power and position to hide this fact, mis-carriage after mis-carriage of justice has been delivered. I give my thanks to the families and friends of the 96 that continued the struggle to the highest level and never let the government sweep away those deaths as nothing more than a hooligan problem and that hooligan's were to blame! Sometimes I am ashamed to live in these times, people are killed everyday and where there is government conclusions, we all accept like sheep. The 96 are a landmark because they undermined that concept, long live the memory of the 96 whose memory was taken away and replaced by a fictional tyrany, the head of which, will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
  5. Sorry, but I only pop on here from time to time and I forgot that it was policed by the trolling brigade! You are right Hypo, total tit of myself, I should have pm'd you or one of the other sergant majors before posting on any thread I choose. This is clearly roped off for the elite few that dominate the thoughts and minds of all Saints supporters and reflect truely what I/we all think. I am sick to death of the ridiculous, tedious postings of 'people' that really should have something less boring to do and let saints supporters talk about SFC here. But no, you carry on your patrol Mr Sergant Troll, I won't bother you, again by replying or responding as clearly you are the authority on this and all things of troll...
  6. Oh my giddy aunt! I nearly fell over I was laughing so much. Turkish accusing someone else of trolling, stop, no! My aching sides, ow! Just read it agin, yep, that's waht it says! LMFAO! No, can't take anymore, need to switch to saintsfc.co.uk for some sanity! Damn, read it again, hahahahahahahahahahaha............
  7. In fact, taking the Turkish way of thinking, Lambert is a 24stone 32 year old injured non-scoring journeyman. Lallana has been out injured for 2 years witha hip replacement and he still thinks they're worth 6 million! Ah to be in the head of a looney tune! I hear the mods are considering renaming this board - Only Turkish can create threads and post articles. At least when you are reading a thread, you know it is valid if Turkish is on it, otherwise, you can just ignore it. Saves time that way. Maybe they should just invent a lounge section for a Turkish Love-In, but then again, the main board would be half empty of comments, in fact 75% down in posts!
  8. I doubt it will happen, but it would be very cool if it ever did. 'The next station is Saint Marys, please alight here for Chamions League'!
  9. I find it a little strange that everyone is so hung up on the rumour that this chap prefers Liverpool. It's an assumption that says to saints if you don't give us more we'll let him go for less to Liverpool. Do you think NC would still be near this deal if that was the case? More likely US or Liverpool are already out. BTW, paperwork done over the phone is called a fax, or, can be scanned and emailed, posted later. Good stuff this technology!
  10. It's because it doesn't matter what the manager said, it's all about what NC had written down and what he 'should' be saying! Only Joking NC, gotta go, a man with a horses head just turned up!
  11. It's taken me a few days to get my head round the situation and I have had to ponder the wider picture and now I can see that there are positives for all on this. First off, Nigel Adkins - WHO! I hear you all cry - well, that is what most of us were saying a year and a half ago. I for one had no clue about Adkins, what he'd achieved at S****horpe or what he was all about. But, I recall saying on this very site, that I will hold judgement and give him the time to see what he can do. NC certainly pulled one out the hat that day, with Keegan, Shearer and many others being banded about, Nigel Adkins was on nobodies lips. However, Nigel has laid the foundations for this club! He has made a huge impact to the way we play football. He has brought through theyoungsters and held onto our stars. We have many things to be grateful for to this 'unknown' manager of S****horpe, the boy did good. Believe it or not, I think this could be a very good thing for Adkins. I don't think his time here was going to be long lived, for whatever reason. I think that once he achieved promotion to the Premiership, he was out of his depth and NC was going to replace him. Trouble was, none of us for a second believed we would only spend the single season in the Champioship. We all knew how tough that league was form previous, bitter, experience, and I think some were like me in hoping for survival and mid table rather than play-offs, and aas I said, automatic promotion, lol! So, we are where we are, and that is down to NA, the players, the board and all the backroom staff. So, I think, fo Nigel Adkins, getting the shove now, will be better for him in the long run. He can go and find another club with an unblemished record and Premiership experience to boot. I think that any club will be lucky to have him and if that's someone like leeds oranother sleeping giant, then they will do worse than pick up the phone and give Nige a decent job, continuing his fine work and development. To the here and now though, Mauricio Pochettino, WHO? Now, from an international footballing perspective and someone mentioning that foul on Owen in the Japanese World Cup finals, I might have said, yeah, maybe, but as a manager of Espanyol, nope, nothing, not a clue! However, I see a lot of similarities between this appointment and that of Nigel Adkins. I understand what NC is trying to achieve here abit more now and can see his thinking. Will this appointment work, well, I just don't know. What i do know is that NC is serious about trying to achieve his goals. I think he was as surprised as the rest of us that we accelerated throught the Champioship, but, he has seen that we had momentum and, that momentum was faltering in the top tier. We needed that injection if we were continue to move forward and this was represented by key signings such as Ramirez. The move for Pochettino is, I think, NC's vision of where we need to head in the Premiership. We are here now, the man he wanted was available and rather than wait and miss out, he moved and got his man, same as when Pardew was moved on for Adkins. So, where do we go from here (is it down to thelake I fear), Monday night will tell us little, by the end of the season, we should know more, until then COYS! As for Nigel, he is a legend at this club and his stepping stone from S****horpe to his next big thing has been an adventure and an experience and he will learn and get better. A future England manager? Wouldn't bet against it!
  12. And that's what many of us think when they read one of your posts. In fact I am not sure why I am bothering to write this, oh yeah, because this thread has you all over it, alomost seems like you're the only one contributing.
  13. Lallana's 3 penalty shouts and getting booked for diving in one game. Apparently it was to even itself out, it did, we still get berated. IMO, it wasn't a dive, the defenders toe contacts the inside middle of jrods shin. Goes down a bit easy but the issue here was villas poor defending they drsrved to concede after that! Comical
  14. This just sums up the whole arrogance of the non-knowledgable, follow the crowd, jump off a cliff, lemming type 'supporter'. So, you're booing Guly because he wants to play Prem first team football and thinks he's too good for us do you? Brilliant, just brilliant. Next...
  15. You're probably right, I understand that the likes of you and Turkish and the rest only come here for a wind up, whereas people like me, a ST holder for many, many years accept our current position, love the mix of youth and experience, delight in the fact that we're back in the Prem, and would like nothing more for us than to come 4th from bottom. On the other hand, you lot keep rubbishing our future players, slam our encumbent manager and are always defaming our owners. This board is generally the area where all the non participating fans get together and moan, whereas those of us that are fortunate enough to be able to go to games, see the reality, watch us grow and reep the rewards. So, I agree...
  16. REALLY? Remeber Bales goal against us for Tottenham? Let's slate the youngster for his inexperience in not getting to the bounce of the ball! And as for Shaw, people lawding him up on here, unbelievable, he let the Norwich player cut inside, and lunged in for a tackle (with the wrong foot) almost gave away a penalty and yet, it was from that free kick which they scored their only goal from! Then, you have Gaston, dwelt on the ball too long and too many tricks in his own half cost us the game against WBA! So, let'sw rake all our young players over the coals, let's castrate them early so they fear playing in front of us. Let's makie them so self doubting that their careers end here and now! You lot make me puke. Results for us since Gazza has stayed in goal since Boruc throw a wobbly against Spuds, have been excellent. Taht's not because of Gazza, it's because the team help each other out. Without Cork back, no matter who we had in goal, from Kelvin to Forster, we would have shipped more goals. If Fox could've stepped up, we wouldn't need to expose Shaw to this level, he makes mistakes, he does. BUT, he is learning and you can see the ability, nobody is doubting this, but, he was the person who lost his man, lunged in and conceded the free kick from which the goal came. THIS WAS A MISTAKE! This is the same level of mistake for a defender as Gazza made from that resulting free kick. Let's put it into perspective and support the bloody team for crying out loud you miserable bunch of so and so's!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. You are wrong. Gazza gave us the win against Newcastle as we failed to get a third. He was the difference between 1 and 3 points, no argument. He will be a very very good gk. But hey, without Hammond here or Guly in the team, saints winning ( must be down to NC) who else have you got to moan about. Go to a game now and again, or maybe get a hobby, all this hate aint doin you no good.
  18. OK, just show us the evidence that what you are saying is true and worthy of debate. Because without any truth to your accusation, there is no debate. Unless, of course you are just mud slining just in case some sticks! I await your proof, until then, i'll shelve this under 'myth'.
  19. Don't you think it weird that this is your first thought on the matter? Not only that, but you have to go to such lengths to share this 'info'. Surprised if you don't get a call soon, you and Turkish constantly perpetuating these myths without so much as a shred of evidence. Maybe you're trying to get this site shut down, certainly going about it in the right way!
  20. Looks like you want to be done for liable. If you are not correct on this, you could find yourself in hot water. My take on it is that cork is back, he is fit and guly has been bumped down the pecking order. But that's imo
  21. I'm off to the game today, I'll let all you internet warriors know if NC is quaking in his boots yet...
  22. The days of Lowe and Wilde, Burley and Wotte are gladly far behind us now. Some commenting on hete that they think the club is run badly now, would certainly still be shaking off the trauma of those darker days! I think it's time for you all to club together and make a stand! All those that whine amd moan abput NC should boycott this forum until he resigns. And, all 10 of you or so should meet in an internet chat room and moan and moan, just like the good old days! For tjose of us that can embrace change and enjoy talking about saints can continue to do so. The wind of change is nlowing through St Mary's, embrace it or blow off!
  23. I have said for a while, no matter what, it's a results business and if Cortese wants a chance of staying up this year, Nigel has to go. It's a real shame, I thought he could pull it off and keep the entertainment flowing. Win some, lose some. But, the free flowing football from the first half of last season has deserted us. Nigel might have been found out, his methods of making average players look good has just disappeared. Some on here are questioning Cortese or Reed or whatever, but, look at us in posession, and that tells me everything. We aren't finding the gaps that were much more clearly there in the Championship. He's getting Gaston and Lallana on the ball ok, but, there's no penetration or goal threat thereafter. This is due to the shape of the team, some of that is confidence as well. But, in this league, as a forward, you have to make the run again and again and again, maybe get the ball once all game in a decent position, and then do something with it that is dangerous. We aren't getting there, we aren't making the shape that pulls the gaps to exploit. All this talk about defence and we've let slip the thing that might save us, our ability to score at will. Without goals, we are sunk with our leaky defence. Didn't think that were that bad this evening, but, didn't think WBA offered much of a threat. Long range shots and half chances, but, were better than us, more clinical and more adventurous and accurate where it counts. Gaston could well be the next MLT, but, he needs other players around him, making his job easier. Lots of buts in there, ifs and maybes would be nice to add, but, I'm afraid we need a change. Sorry Nige...
  24. It's almost a sad reflection of society where an internet warrior and armchair supporters can appear to be socially in touch. Reality is usually, thankfully, more reflective of human nature. I love this club, I have loved the journey from prem back to prem and I am loving this season. Now, let me tell you why oh internet warriors, because these last few years have shown us supporters the ups and downs of football. Being at the games, listening to the post match interviews, watching the highlights of a game you were at, on the league show at 12am and thinking, we weren't ad bad as I thought! Now that's entertainment. Getting your jollies from your armchair amd a keyboard just doesn't compare to real life. Open the curtains, open the door, step outside. Life is for living, not pretending...
